Trust me, after walking the ruins for 2 hours, you will want to sit and eat, this is the closest restaurant around!
It is 10 JD.
We sat next to the buffet area.
Food consisted of a few simple salads, most of which are traditional sour ones;
A big dish of lamb rice, which the lamb is a little overcooked;
and then some chicken dishes and another beef dish, which is 100% fully cooked.
Go for the chicken legs which were less dry than the chicken breasts.
also there was some dessert which I didn't try.
Not exactly the best food or service, but a 10 JD buffet seems a standard at most tourist locations.

The ruins of the Greco -Roman city of GERASA are located in Jerash which is one of the largest and well preserved sites of Roman architecture in the world outside of Italy. We are proudly located in this ancient city that bursts with history, we have almost become a historical monument amongst the ancient ruins. No one can mention Jerash without thinking "Um Khalil" they are intertwined!
We stopped in here after our visit in Jerash. The lunch was very good. They served warm Arabic bread, babaganosh, hummus, pickled vegetables, olives and salad as appetizers. For the main course we had delicious ground lamb made in long rolls in tomato sauce with rice. For dessert we had a pudding like item with pistachios on it. Service was very good.

This place is cavernous and filled with water features! The service and food came very promptly.
The menu is totally in Arabic but I was with a local friend. The salads that came first were amazing and the later grilled meat was just as good. Bring an appetite with you - there will be a lot to eat!
I was brought here by someone who lives in Jerash and who wanted to be sure I had a good meal. It did not disappoint. I don't understand any of the reviews (by Arabs) who said the food was inedible. Even if you don't speak Arabic, if you are familiar with Arabic food, the waiters speak English and can help you.
High recommended and apparently much cheaper than the two other places in town more popular with tour buses from Amman on day trips.

This is popular local restaurant in Jerash serving grilled meat and many other local dishes. It is in the street facing the Jerash old roman city ruins.
Al-Khayyam restaruant in Jerash near the the old Roman achaeological sites is a good choice for delicious grills and reasonable prices. the fresh and delicious bread is made at the restaurant and kebab tastes good. the only problem is that a lot of flies were there in the place when I visited it last time in June, apparently due to the hot weather at that time.

After the visit of Jerash ruins, we were well prepared for a late lunch or early dinner. Our companion during the trip recommended Artemis Restaurant, at least for the fact that is close to the ancient city. The restaurant can accommodate large groups of people inside or outside on a large Terrace. Our option was for outside seats because of the fresh air and the views to Jerash.
The restaurant offers a very good buffet with a lot of cooked meals and fresh salads. For everyone who is hungry this is by far the best option. Here I could enjoy a cold beer after the hot day but, as in many places in Jordan, alcohol is expensive (one beer costs as a dinner for two at Hashem Restaurant in Amman so, is better to think twice if you really want one!).
In the courtyard of the restaurant there is an oven where you can have your customized traditional flat Arabic bred – was a nice surprise.
Although we may consider the place as not a quite cheap one, everything worth the money: the good food, the cold beer, the professional service and the beautiful views from the Terrace.

This place is located adjacent to the parking lot of Jerash visitor center. We expected it to charge slightly higher prices because of the location. However, when we asked for the menu, we were told that there was no menu and the lamb kebab/ shish tawouk with the buffet salad was JD7 per person. We ordered two shish tawouk and expected to pay JD14 for the same. We also ordered some other things for which we did not ask the price before hand (big mmistake!) However, while paying the bill we were billed JD10 per shish tawouk (with taxes extra) and told that was the rate. The other items too were charged higher than the rates at similar places all across Jordan- we had better meals in better restaurants for far less.For the price, the food was just about ok. Avoid if you can.

I went with my family for dinner last week. The restaurant has very nice sittings, with Fountains and Waterfalls. We had mashawi, grilled chicken, salads and cocktails. Every thing we had was perfect except the mashawi which were average. The restaurant was clean and the staff who served were nice Jordanian guys.

Located very near the Roman ruins in Jerash, this is a must visit restaurant! The food is so very, very good and the atmosphere even better. There was music, singing and dancing and people just being happy! The staff is very professional and attentive to details for a classy dining experience. The restaurant itself is warm and inviting and you just want to stay and enjoy.

Concerts Delicious food Wonderful service Stunning views Street next to the columns raised Jerash
Yikes. Our chicken came barely seared and completely raw inside. Upon informing the waiter he just laughed and said they serve it that way. Not to mention that the chicken clearly walked straight out of the Carrefoure freezer prior to its arrival at our table. Also the fatoush was just dressed in oil and salt. No lemon. And the waiters couldn't be any less bothered and we still had to pay full price. One positive was that the service was fast as they came with the food within 10 minutes of ordering. But if you like your chicken cooked instead of saahimi'd then perhaps it's better to go to a different place. We drove past it a lot and were curious since it looks really cool on the outside. But this is one book whose cover can't be trusted.
