Being in Jambi, I assumed all coffee would be prepared the traditional way - Turkish (traditional) or Singapore pulled coffee (tarik). It definitely caught me by surprise to find a place that prepares espresso, cappuccino, and even vacuum brews your order!
The place is rather small and may feel crampy. But hey, they can definitely fix you a good cup of coffee.

Saimen is legent bakery in Jambi. Its been more than 15 years. They selling bakery, bread and some others variant of food such chicken noodle, fried chicken and softdrinks. Very affordable place to visit for those like cheap and delicious food. The price very friendly. Not to expensive but good quality food.

Let me preface with "I don't eat meat". But my girl does and she loved this place. My only problem was the lack of bathroom. Yea you have to walk outside to use the bathroom. That's an issue. But hey, if you wear diapers you'll be fine. :)

The food is some thing very special. All the food taste very good. They are very good in steam dishes. Try steam Janggut fish. It's a local wild fresh water fish, so far I never see other province has this type of fish. We feel the price is reasonable. Table are always full. Sure will be back again

Nice little half restaurant. It's got open Seating to the mall which is good for people watching. The drinks are good, however I'd have to say the boba was a little soft, and the drinks have a little too much sugar. But all in all they were good.
I didn't expect to find a good boba place in Jambi I have to admit.
By the way, they call boba "bubble" here. I thought that was neat. Drinks are a little more expensive than I expected but still cheap by western standards.
Totally worth a visit.

Kopi Oey Jambi is a Peranakan style coffee shop. In Singapore and Malaysia the kind of joint is known as Kopi Tiam.
Jambi is well known for good coffee, however until the presence of this Kopi Oey it's very difficult to find a cozy place for coffee.
The place is strategically located and easy to find. Parking is also easy.
The coffee shop serves local coffee, peranakan style coffee (coffee 'O' and coffee 'C' as well as coffee 'Tarik'), and also modern coffee blends and smoothies. The interior was in classic chinese-malay design which creates cozy ambience.
It serves food and snacks, wifi, and smoking area at the balcony.
The prices are considered very decent if not cheap.
Nice for hangouts with friends or for a business talk with colleagues.
