U Suliccenti:a name, a brand, a project! Not only mean "the sun in the west." Is 'the brand that has given voice to foods that tell the value of the territory, the passion and the story come' the project that do not want to talk about food but BE food.Is the work of a family, a job created by direct teaching of nature, they did a behavior of life. Rosolini crossroads of ancient cultures ...
Landed to Catania and just joined our agriturismo close to Rosolini, my family and I drove to this small town and ran across U Suliccenti.
We had 2 caponata as starter, 3 different pasta and polpette. All dishes were absolutely unique and home made tasty.
It is a small family run restaurant, nicely step by step decorated, where you really feel home. To mention how special the pasta with carrube flour and alici is.
We had the opportunity to chat with the chef while we were having a very good espresso. Speaking with her you can clearly perceive the passion for her job and why the food and the location are unique.
If you are nearby Rosolini, stop by U Suliccenti and don't miss the opportunity to taste something very special!

I'll Giardino dei Sapori is an unassuming treasure. This family owned restaurant offers fine, fresh fish that is simply delicious. We started with a seafood salad, mussels, swordfish parmigiana, grilled eggplant and salad. We could very well have "called it a meal", but, since we already ordered a pasta, we continued....the seafood ravioli was amazing!
After dinner, the owner(and chef's) son brought out an almond wine/ liquor that tasted like an amaretto wine-it was homemade like everything they serve.
Don't miss this jewel!

We were part of a trekking group from Malta accompanying a larger group from Ispica and this was a great choice. Food is good and abundant but it is the atmosphere that we really enjoyed. With a karaoke going on, we ending up singing and dancing the afternoon away! A great way to spend the afternoon

The food here is just wonderful. The evening started with prosecco and delicious canapes. We then had octopus carpaccio and rocket, a prawn risotto, and a grouper main course, followed by a tiramisu dessert. The best I have ever tasted. The single grape chardonnay is sensational. All this in a Norman castle with attentive waiters and a charming host. A very memorable occasion.

Having hungered for a pizza after a week's self-catering in Ispica, the Poseidon was recommended by the owner of the Il Giardino dei Limoni villa where we were staying. We were not disappointed! The choice of pizzas was generous, to say the elast. One which caught my eye: the "Pizza Stallone" seemed promising but even with my very basic Italian I saw that it came with horse-meat ("cavallo = horse???"). Not that I have any issue with horse-meat, but it somehow did not appeal with a pizza! Everyone in our party of four had a different pizza, and we all rated them as amongst some of the best we have eaten. All washed own with one of the excellent Sicilian reds (why can't I find Sicilian red wine in UK supermarkets?), coffee, etc. Service was efficient but no one spoke English (why should they - I must improve my Itailian) and menus were in Italian. Overall, a good well run pizzeria where an enjoyable evening meal may be had. Of course, there were other dishes on the menu other than pizzas, but that wasn't what we came for!

It wasn't easy finding restaurants in this corner of Sicily, near the scenic town of Ispica. We noticed Le Note del Gusto on my Google map, but even having the map on my tablet in the car we still had difficulty finding it! Beware: the turn off is a small road straight off the Strada Communale n.40 . The only sign advertising the restaurant is on a high post , out of most drivers' field of view!
Le Note del Gusto, we subsequently learned, is under new management. All the staff are helpful and friendly and an English speaking waiter served us once it became apparent that our Italian was , shall we say, "pocco"! We had booked table for 8:30 PM and were disconcerted to see that out party of four were the only one's there! We need not have worried: by 9:30 there wasn't a free table in the place and a queue at the door. The menu (Italian only) was varied with sea-food and meat dishes in equal proportions for the "secondo piatio", while the choice of antipasti and "primo piatto" left one forced to make difficult but ultimately very tasty choices. The bill for the four of us, with an excellent (but sadly not noted down) bottle of Sicilian red, water, coffes, etc came to 157 Euros, which made it excellent value for money. We had a very enjoyable evening and would recommend Le Note del Gusto without hesitation.

Casa Rosa is a lovely little cafe just across the road from the most gorgeous of Beaches between Marina Marza and Santa Maria del Focallo, Ispica. It is family run and the Signora and her daughters are marvelous cooks - the food is made up of local dishes and it is always freshly made and tastes wonderful. You really have to try the Signora's lemon granita which she makes herself with organically grown lemons. They are always very friendly, professional and polite. As we have a dog, we usually sit outside on the covered veranda. When we are in Ispica (which is quite often) the Casa Rosa is our lunchtime place on the beach.
