We stopped in at Brookwater Golf Club for lunch and decided on the restaurant menu instead of the bar menu. With 2 teenage children we were looking for something to cate for all of our tastes, but unfortunately the menu was sparse in choice for the location. What I mean is, if you want a fine dining experience where everything on the menu has names you have never heard of then maybe this is for you, but if you want something plain, you are better off trying the bar menu. Aft finding nothing that the family would eat, we left and ate elsewhere. This is and is promoted as a golf club, it is the only golf club worldwide that I have been to that doesn't cater for golfers in their restaurant menu.
That being said, we returned the next day for breakfast as the breakfast menu looked good. Firstly there were no tables prepared. There were 3 tables of diners and the rest of the tables were unprepared. We were asked to sit on the lounge whilst a table was made up and 10 minutes lat we were seated. We noted there had been a wedding the night before and under the tables next to us was confetti and assorted food crumbs, obviously the cleaner had the day off that Sunday.
We ordered drinks, 1 coffee, 1 tea and 2 hot chocolate. Shortly thereafter we ordered breakfast and settled in to wait. 25 minutes later our drinks arrived and then right on cue, so did our meals. There was a mad scramble to organise drinks and food on the small table and on tasting the coffee it was Luke warm at best.
We noted the table next to us also got their drinks when their food arrived which really is poor service. We noted that the one girl who was making our drinks was also busily engaged in conversation with people at the bar and the other staff made no attempt to sped up the process by helping.
On paying for the meal I made mention of the poor service i.e. drink timings to which the reply was "sometimes it pays to wait for good service". I would accept that if the drinks were in fact good, but as mentioned, my coffee was luke warm at best.
To say we were disappointed is an understatement. With the amount of competing demands for hospitality in the area, especially with the new sort being constructed next door, if Brookwater doesn't pick up its act, they will be in a lot of trouble.
TIP. Stick to the bar menu, you might fare better than the restaurant.

I can't fault this restaurant. The food is absolutely amazing, the staff are friendly and efficient, it's really affordable and the ambience is lovely. If you only have one night in the city, this is your "must do". If you don't have time for dinner, make time for lunch.

Savour the true taste of Australia, infused with a decidedly European edge. Created around a 'paddock to plate' philosophy, the menu at Cotton's Restaurant features fresh, seasonal and local produce from the Darling Downs and Lockyer Valley, whose natural flavours are enhanced through the sophistication and structure of classic French techniques.
With a group of 15 people we had a banquet Sunday lunch. The restaurant kindly settled us in the air conditioned boardroom , which is a private dining area for our large group. Service was very attentive and the young man who was the host/waiter did a great job explaining the dishes. Food was abundant and I think we could have feed about another 4 people there was so much food. We had the slow cooked lamb, a chicken dish and an array of roast veges, corn, whipped potatoes and salad to feast from. Desert was a tasty apple dish which finished the meal off beautifully.
Restaurant and lounge areas was clean, tidy and comfy. There was a particularly homey lounge area for our group to meet up in on arrival. The restaurant verandah was striking with views over the garden, pool and Mountains beyond. What a pleasant surprise and experience our entire social outing was. The grounds of the property are gorgeous, there seems to be something to look at, at every turn. Property management are doing a marvellous job here, so too the very busy and attentive restaurant and bar staff. We hope to return another time and book accommodation as an addition.

The first brewery in Ipswich since 1903. We are a real working brewery. We stock our own beer, guest beers, cider, wine, spirits and more. We do great food with local flavours at a reasonable cost. Our building is a 100 year old TAFE building on the site of Ipswich's first well, hence the Pumpyard. The site of Ipswich's first watering hole!
Came here as a group of four and really enjoyed our lunch here. We shared a large plate called four hearts. Was a great selection of things to share. Drinks were tasty and cold and the service was quick and friendly. Highly recommend this place and will be back. Great atmosphere especially on a hot day.

Arrived with a group of eight for lunch mid week, we all were initially concerned the place was empty, no one had eaten here before. We soon realised it wasn't the food or service ...probably just not a typical lunch location
The service and freshness of the fare was sensational An owner / chef happy and willing to interact with our group and offer drink and food suggestion. We were glad to have taken the "banquet" option plenty of food on the mid range size platters ( for 8 blokes) . Grilled baby octopus and dusted calamari rings were my highlight. .
Pity I live in Sydney, as I would like to try his breakfast.

Service was a little on the slow side, as the restaurant is popular and busy. The meals were enjoyable, but we were annoyed by flies at the table. Even though we were seated "inside", the large doors were open. This is okay on a normal day, but it was VERY hot that day, and the air-conditioning was unable to work effectively.
