Intercourse (population: 1,274 as of 2010 census) is an unincorporated village and census-designated place in Leacock Township, Lancaster County in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania, 10 miles (16 km) east of Lancaster on Pennsylvania Route 340. Intercourse is a popular site for tourists because of its location in "Amish country" and its sexually suggestive name. The movie Witness was filmed in Intercourse as well as other parts of the surrounding area, and For Richer or Poorer was set there, though not filmed in Intercourse. Because of the town's unusual name, the sign posts for the town are frequently targeted by thieves.

Words cannot begin to describe how much I love this restaurant! Fisher's is Amish run and serves delicious quality food at very reasonable prices. While they serve breakfast, I have only been here for lunch and dinner and have thoroughly enjoyed each of the meals I have eaten here. Diners have the option of either the buffet or ordering off of the menu. Each time I visit, I tend to get either a sandwich or one of their melts. Weeks and months later, I still think about how good the food was and wish that I lived closer to visit more often. During the summer, I especially enjoy getting their sandwiches as they feature all of the local produce. No matter what I, or anyone in my family, has ordered, we have never left disappointed.

The only downside to stopping here to eat is that when you leave, you feel like you've stuffed yourself on Thanksgiving. We both got the buffet, but I'm sure ordering from the menu would help with the self restraint. We had a few minutes wait for the table, but it's worth it. They were busy, but kept refilling the buffet containers. There are many things to choose from including meats, veggies, salads, and desserts. If you don't like real food, you should probably stick with McDonalds. I saw people filling containers, so I guess take-out is an option. The server was friendly as was the hostess.

We came here on a bus trip of about forty people. They took us to a back room which appeared to have a stage. Everything was very clean and the food arrived quickly. We had salad and a pesto crusted fish I believe. The food...MoreWe were so glad to have your group here. I will pass along your compliments to our staff.

Family-owned & operated since 1972.
This is the place that MapQuest will take you to if you tap in bird in hand Pennsylvania. Their bake goods and snacks are the best. There’s farm animals that the kids can check. They have many high-quality crafts. We found the prices here slightly less than what was in the main town.

This was our first time trying their fudge. The choice of flavors leave much to be desired; there really isn't that many flavors to choose from. After trying a few samples of fudge, we came home with Cookies and Cream and Chocolate.
The fudge was nice and creamy for a few hours. We returned home that night and placed the fudge in an airtight container. The next day we opened the container and you could see the outside edges were hard as a rock. Yes, we were still able to eat it but the fudge shouldn't have turned hard so fast. Especially since we've used this container to store fudge in the past and never had this problem.

I had told my husband I wanted to stop here for him to try a couple of cupcakes because I spoke to the owner in December prior to opening and thought it would be nice to support her. I told him he would have to try them as I try to avoid sweets on a regular basis. We went in and bought a peanut butter cupcake and a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting inside & out. Well, he took a bite and said.....oh wow. I said, ok, just give me one bite. Well, what a bite it was. Chocolate cake was so moist and delicious, combined with peanut butter frosting and pb cup......it was delicious. He then went for the carrot cake one. Once again I said, just one bite! These were amazing. I think I would be in trouble if I didn't live 3+ hours away. I bake often and think I'm a bit picky. If you are in the area or need cupcakes for an occasion.....give this a try. I have a hard time thinking when I've had better.

Smorgasbord buffet, menu dining, and take out meals. Nestled amid the Amish farmlands of Lancaster County, this Mennonite family-owned business features farm fresh meats, poultry, fruits and vegetables from nearby farms and Grandma Smucker's favorite Pennsylvania Dutch recipes. Family-friendly with a Noah's Ark Kids' Buffet and breakfast, lunch and dinner smorgasbords, this local favorite has been a landmark for more than 40 years.
My son and went to Lancaster for a few days for a break. The first place we ate was lunch at this restaurant. We have eaten here many times before and have never been disappointed. They are currently under renovations so the only things to choose from were the soup and salad bar, the deli bar and the hot buffet. We had the full buffet and it was very good, tasty and lots of options to choose from. My favorite is their homemade red devil's food cake with cream cheese icing. I will be anxious to see the changes they are making in the kitchen and counter service area. If you want good food at a fair price, this is the place to eat!
