Joe's Pasty Shop was recommended to us by a local, and indeed had by far the best pasties I've eaten in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. I can submit a photo of the front of the shop.
Yooper ex-pat here; one of my fave take-out pasty places that still is around from my youth. A better sign is this is my non-Michigander-family's favorite. Good traditional, basic place that doesn't try to be fancy or trendy. The basic, with rutabaga (swede), is a go-to.

Dairy Queen is my go to ice cream place. Convenient location in Hurley and a busy place in the summer.

Sharon's East Wing Is open Friday and Saturday at 4pm Fine wine cocktails craft beer. Friday fish fries and Prime Rib saturday both evening we have a feature board with many entrees. Full menu with burgers, piazza , salad and more.
What a great find! If every independent coffee house was like Sharon’s Starbucks would not be so prevalent. We only got coffee for the road, French Roast, and what turned out to be one of the best raspberry muffins in memory. If we’d really been...MoreThanks for stopping glad you enjoyed your coffee muffin !

I stopped in here often when staying in Ironwood for business. It was definitely a local place, not even a bathroom. They serve a large variety of baked goods at very low prices. ($0.50 cookies!) Everything I tried was amazing - my favorite being the blueberry muffins. They have reg pasties, breakfast pasties, and fruit pasties, as well as sandwiches. I enjoyed my egg salad. The service is great - very friendly. I enjoyed spending an hour or so here in the mornings.

As first time visitors we were amazed at this apparent well kept secret. Prior to our ski trip to the Ironwood area to celebrate our anniversary, I had tried to do some planning for potential places to dine. In no publication (or on-line) did I see any information about this hidden little gem. The bar and dining area were neat and clean, the dinner music was perfect, and the food and service were both outstanding! We've dined in a number of places around the country as we travel...and this one is now near the top!

We were on vacation in Michigan and tried out the contrast coffee company twice and on both occasions we had fantastic service and drinks. The atmosphere was very peaceful and pleasant, even having our seven-year-old with us. He also enjoyed it. The specialty drinks were made with a perfect strength of coffee and the pastries were delicious. Parking was easy both times and we will definitely return when we come back to the area. The only con of the place was the older barista's were much more pleasant than the younger barista's. The older barista is actually use your name when taking your order and giving you your drinks which was a nice personal touch and feeling.

We went tonight on a recommendation from our hotel and Trip Advisors reviews.
We enjoyed the cheese curds, the salads were fresh, our waitress very attentive, the setting/atmosphere pleasant but our main dishes were just ok. My husband had the ravioli with meatballs, he said the meatballs were good but the ravioli dry and just luke warm. I went with the chicken parmesan which was just ok.

We came here for dinner after a full day of traveling. Many of the items are homemade and very tasty. My husband had an Italian grinder on homemade bread. I had homemade Cole slaw and excellent chicken vegetable soup, also scratch made. As a special touch, Mike’s serves free dessert! It is a small but tasty portion, just enough. We had a delicious piece of homemade lemon cake. mike’s is clearly a favorite of locals, too.

Pretty good menu variety, however side portions are on the smaller side. Ordered the chicken wings which were pretty good, but the sides (fries and onions rings) seemed bagged/frozen and nothing special. Very woodsy atmosphere, which was cool for the area. The service was friendly/average, conveniently located next to the hotel we were staying in. This restaurant also has a gift shop connected to it which is nice if you're traveling the area and looking for a a unique souvenir to pick up a long the way.

We stopped in here for pizza after reading the TA reviews and were disappointed in the food. Their oven-baked crust was tough and chewy and the toppings were very over-cooked. The service was inexperienced and inattentive too. The did have a nice beer selection on tap and the bar tender was very helpful in making selections.
