We have been coming here for years as regular skiers at Hunter Mountain.
Dining room is small so reservations are required during the ski season, but not really in the summer.
The menu is not large, but there is always something for everyone to eat.
Food is average.
Service is above average!
Great for families.
Warm and cozy atmosphere.

Amazing gem on top of the mountain. Family run with service that rivals any NYC restaurant. Loved the eggplant parm which makes you feel like you are in southern Italy.
The owners actually cook unlike many restaurants today. Doria's desserts are delectable and original.
A meal here is a vacation in itself. If you have never been to this mountaintop delight, do your self a favor and make a reservation. (Yes, the dining room is packed with loyal customers).

The location is in a strip mall adjacent to Main Street, Hunter, NY. The location is directly across from the entrance to Hunter Mountain Ski Area, a major ski mountain for all levels of skiers. The bagels are very fresh and there is limited seating in the restaurant. A nice place to stop.

Oh, the freshly made to order donuts and great coffee makes for a wonderful morning treat. They also have a full menu and excellent quiche.

My husband and I have frequently dined at Vesuvio's many times over the years for the consistently delicious food, attentive staff, wonderful atmosphere and always a sincere "hello" from Joe. Last Friday night I enjoyed the artichoke oreganato appetizer which was cooked to perfection while my husband devoured his favorite: the Sicilian rice ball. We both had the lobster special for dinner (as it was Friday night). Recently we returned from Italy where I had grilled octopus (polpo) twice; once in Rome and once in Tuscany. There is no comparison to Joe's grilled octopus: his is above all the best cooked!!!

We are glad you found us on the web and would love for you to come visit us in The Great Northern Catskill Mountains! We opened The Catskill Mountain Country Store in 1994. We started in the town of Windham, NY with a small store where we sold local crafts, fresh produce, gourmet foods and baked goods made from Pop Pop Siegfried's recipes (Natasha's Great Grandpop). We purchased the Windham Garden Center in 1995 and added our own garden center, looking zoo and walking paths. Then in 2000 we built an addition for our restaurant. We have been serving the best breakfast and lunch in New York, maybe...The USA since then! But wait, there is more. IT IS OFFICIAL!!!! We are open in Tannersville, NY. Stop by at our second location for Breakfast or Lunch, or buy a great gift. Try our homemade, jams, jellies, breads, pies, sodas and the list goes on! Tannersville has a special secret...An old fashion ice cream counter. Both locations are similar, but have their own unique charm. Our entire family is excited to be in two amazing communities in the Catskills! We will be bringing to Tannersville what we have been doing successfully in Windham, for the last twenty years! This has been a wonderful journey shared by our three children, 16 year old Sydney, 15 year old Augustus and 11 year old Victoria. Come visit and share a piece of the country that we call home!
Have been on several occasions. Breakfast is the best in town with toast slices like Texans do it. Good portions Fresh food Small juices Great store Tip: If you want to see the animals, don't wear good shoes and live animals produce very live smells....MoreThanks for coming in and enjoying our restaurant, store and rescue looking zoo. We appreciate you taking the time to review us See you next time Drew

Young girls were running the restaurant seemed like I might have interrupted their bull sessions as 2 of the three seemed annoyed they had to make a lunch sandwich at 2pm, hmmmn,
guess lunch must have a short window. The girl who did make my sandwich made a good sandwich , good quality food.
Would go back maybe they had big dates that night.

Prospect Restaurant at Scribners Lodge serves a playful twist on local cuisine inspired by the rich and diverse offerings of the Hudson Valley.
Very good food, but limited menu. Bar and restaurant are combined making for a cozy and warm space. Service was slow and unresponsive like the hotel.Hi, I am glad you enjoyed the food but I'm sorry to hear it wasn't timely - please email me [email protected] I'd like to know more about your experience to make it right! - Kelly Reid

Family restaurant serving lunch and dinner daily. We specialize in american comfort food including steaks, burgers, meat loaf, and chicken pot pie.
We visited here while in Tannersville. I had the KNISH-WICH (hot grilled potato knish, packed with pastrami, topped with melted Swiss cheese and coleslaw, russian dressing and pasta salad on the side.) and my wife had the chicken pot pie (made with melt-in-your-mouth puff pastry). Both were fantastic! Good size portions. Plenty to look at while you wait.

Full Service Restaurant and Bar. Steaks, Chicken, Ribs, homemade Soups, Salads, Ice Cream and much more. Indoor and Outdoor Dining. Seafood Shack in the Summer. Firepit, outdoor games, Year round live music.
We had dinner in this restaurant after the winter hike. The portions are plentiful and delicious. I had marinated half chicken and it was juicy and very tasty. The coleslaw was excellent, though the vegetables of the day did not have much taste. Corn bread was delicious. After the meal I did not have space for dessert. Our waitress was great, very friendly and helpful. Nice, casual and relaxing place for dinner with friends!
