We had "grass fed" hamburgers which were excellent...and the very best fried potatoes I have ever had in a restaurant! Real potatoes! You can tell they weren't pulled out of the freezer. We were only in the area overnight, otherwise I would have returned the next day. Big thumbs up!

Celebrating our 81st Anniversary (1936-2017) we offer an authentic Nova Scotia Lobster Supper experience. Serving fresh boiled lobsters together with unlimited mussels and salad bar, together with blueberry shortcake and coffee/tea; with steak chicken and a children's menu. All this in a landmark building, with lots of stories. Dancing every Summer Saturday night.
Visited for the lobster dinner, however the restaurant was fully booked with a 1.5 hour wait. Could book for following Wednesday but would have to ring as the male receptionist was totally disinterested in taking a booking at the time. Had no problem with having to book but the total lack of interest was very off putting. Went to Dauphinee Inn up the road and they couldn't be more helpful and we had a great night.
Needless to say we didn't go back to the Shore Club and wouldn't recommend it.
I actually think the two restaurants are in the same group but are worlds apart in attitude.

Smoked meat Sandwich was sliced right in front of us, piled on fresh rye bread. Excellent! Juicy and full of flavor. Owners and staff, so very friendly!! The pastries are made fresh daily. I had a personal size blueberry pie stuffed with blueberries. The chocolate hazelnut croissant was fresh, light and also very delicious. Cookie, squares all good. Watch for this colourful building on your way to Peggy's Cove.

They have nice strong coffee. Your cup is refilled, hours later you wish you had more coffee. Food is the price of fast food but 5X better. They have a nice lobster Sandwich platter and good lunch fish chowder. All in all a very reasonable lunch stop. Good Service, quiet environment. It is located next to grocery store about 3 minutes off exit 6 on the 103, an easy stop if you are traveling. Friends like the bread pudding.

We ate at the Dauphinee Inn while staying at the nearby Hubbards Beach cottages. It has a beautiful location with Terrace overlooking the harbour, perfect spot to watch the sunset while you eat. Food was good and plentiful, with local fish & seafood. Service friendly and unhurried even though we were just about last to leave and a large group that clearly over-taxed the kitchen. Recommended if you are in the area.

A relative newcomer to the area, Old School offers great pizza, subs, donairs, burgers, fries and other fast food choices. The staff is friendly and efficient and the service is quick. There is in store Seating as well as take out and Delivery. It isn't fancy, but it is clean and bright and the food is good and prepared with pride.
They now have a drive-thru and hard ice cream cones available.
