Last year we had dinner here for the first time. My parents in law live just around the corner and we decided to try out the restaurant and were not dissapointed. The scenery ( great outside terrace) is very nice. The hosts friendly and most important fantastic food. The owners are very passionate about their restaurant. Sometimes they accept no more Reservations just to make sure to give the best service. I cannot believe this restaurant is not higher rated in Capbretons restaurant list. Maybe it's because they just opened last year? Anyway we are very much looking forward to be visiting again this summer (if the restaurant is not fully booked!)

Not the first time we have dined here and whilst some aspects of the establishment receive good marks, there are other areas leaving much to be desired.
The menu is based mainly on sea food dishes, with some very high prices for some of the more extravagant courses. Possibly a little more variety would be welcome. A beautiful position by the lake and a very warm atmospheric interior dining area.
The prices are quite high and this is in some restaurants acceptable but the quality of food provided has to match. We don`t think this is the case here and as an example the fish soup started with was very ordinary and the grilled langoustines at 25.50 euros nothing to write home about. You also expect quality service for the prices being paid. This was certainly not the case, if we were an example, serious attention being offered to what were obviously regular patrons only whilst others received less attention.
Still a lovely place to dine and we are so sorry that it didn`t match up to our expectations. One other point is that the wines are expensive and yes we are familiar with dining in quality restaurants throughout Europe.

Three friends who were excited about this portside fish restaurant....which to be honest was shocking. The blinis were rock solid and you could have broken a window with them.... the fish portions of monk fish were the size of your finger and cost 25euros served on cold plates.... and were hot in the middle and cold in the outside ... microwave....
When we asked about the blinis at the end of the mean we were told the sous chef had not cooked them properly. When we asked if we were expected to pay for them the answer was yes. Rather unimpressed with this overpriced restaurant with pre prepared microwaved food. Avoid.

This gem of a restaurant is an absolute find in Capbreton. From the outside it looks small but on the inside it is jsut fabulous, the fish is outstanding, there is no othe words. The service was with smiles and they helped us understand the menu completely.
Drinks and cocktail - house Ameracano - am addicted since. Champagne cocktail was had by another of the party and fine wines. Crisp and beautiful Chalbis served with St Jacques and Sole. An evening to talk long about and treasure. Will return for sure.

Fresh oysters, great service, nice location (shame about the view onto the lake being obstructed by the actual oyster farm), great price. PS: this is not a restaurant per say, i.e. they dont have any cooked food & for drinks only white or rose wine which goes with the oysters. Its a fresh oysters degustation place! Very gay friendly!!

Although tucked away not far from the beach dunes, this is a charming and welcoming restaurant which takes pride in paying attention to its customers needs. The menu is quite small but there are daily specials and the food is well cooked and presented well. From the warm, smiling welcome on arrival to the friendly service the whole experience is one of ease and intimacy.

Cuisine creative et originale, produits de saison, tout est fait maison
The little seaside town of Capbreton is nestled alongside Hossegor, one of the premier surf Beaches in Europe. Normally I visit in summer where thousands of French and holiday makers descend in a frenzy of sun-seeking and Surfing. It's a different sight in winter where most shops and restaurants are closed for the season and tourists are few. It can be slim culinary pickings! So it was a delight to find La Cuisine open and ready to serve a fantastic, simple, yet sophisticated meal.
I enjoyed a beautifully textured escalope of foie gras, with a velvet veloute of pumpking (and a velouté is far more push than a purée!). Followed by a simply superb veal blanquette with potatoes cooked in duck fat. Beautiful. Being half French, but growing up in Tasmania (that's a long, long story, don't ask) this brought back vivid memories of my mother's veal blanquette. Le yum, indeed. We were too full to have desserts but hope to try again before leaving town. But what impressed me most was that because it was low season and just days before Christmas, there was only the four of us in the restaurant. It would have been very easy for the chef Johann to have rushed through preparation and cooking to get us out the door to shut up shop, but no - each dish was clearly prepared with passion, attention to detail, cultured presentation and care. His respect for his food was evident and it was an honour to call him from the kitchen to say a personal thank you.
His partner Isabelle looked after us with the same level of care, patiently waiting as we translated some menu elements, and also recommending a perfect, well-priced wine: a 'vin oublié', which is a 'forgotten wine'. She explained that the winemakers had forgotten about these particular barrels of wine, then found them and thought they would test, thinking it would only be good enough to throw away - turns out it was a damn fine drop. Now who can't love a wine with a good backstory!?
I am no food expert (neither gourmet or gourmand) but I hope I know what a quaility dining experience feels like ans tastes like. It was a wonderful, memorable meal on a cold south-west France winter's night and I would encourage anyone to try them out for lunch or dinner, summer or winter - you will not be disappointed!

Restaurant bistronomique sur le port de Capbreton. Nous vous proposons une cuisine créative, faite à base de produits frais et de saison dans un cadre simple et décontracté. Ouvert toute l'année.
Stopped in for lunch as we were in the port area and so glad we did. Fresh fish appetizer with mussels in some wonderful onion/tomato based sauce, the name of the fish escapes me. Never liked mussels before but fresh from the sea and prepared by someone clearly knowledge and passionate, they were delicious. Merlu with vegetables, mashed potatoes and carrot purée was a great main dish. Dessert of a profiterole filled with amazing ice cream and some great coffee rounded off a memorable lunch. The waitress was really helpful as our French was not perfect. You should eat here.

A dozen No. 2 oysters ( my wife had crevettes ) and a chilled bottle of Domaine Laroche Chablis sitting at the bench overlooking the lake on sunny day with good friendly service.
I cannot think of a more enjoyable way to spend a chilled out lunchtime.

We had the most lovely meal here last week. The staff were incredibly friendly. We spoke nearly no french and they spoke nearly no english but this made it all the more fun. The food is great and although it's a really nice restaurant they catered well for children. Highly recommended.
