I have lived in High River since 2009. A former colleague of mine, we are both retired, get together frequently for breakfast here. There are five different breakfast specials, one for each day, from Monday to Friday. They all are $8.75 including coffee. On Tuesdays, it is the traditional bacon and eggs. Thursday, one eggs benedict with hash browns. Monday, pancakes, eggs and meat. There is no better deal anywhere and the service is amazing. They have a brunch on Sunday.
As far as I know, this is the only place in town that has a salad bar for lunch and dinner and it is excellent.
As far as their dinner menu, it can be beaten but for the budget traveller it definitely is the best you will get. Since I enjoy great suppers, that is the only reason I have not rated this a 5.

Very much like Peter's Drive In in Calgary, the Hitchin Post Drive-In is surviving based on past greatness. I've worked in the area for the past 20 years and ages ago, this place really was all that. It had picnic tables in the shade of enormous willows, birch, elm and pine - the town destroyed that with road widening and a huge roundabout. It had beautiful thick juicy patties on fresh buns with generous condiments, great fries, thick shakes with fresh fruit options, now the best I can say is they have mediocre onion rings. The patty was thin and dry, the onion was tiny, there was more relish then patty, the bun was outdated and the fries were thin and greasy. It also took a very very long time to come out of that little window. Our last visit there last week will be our actual last visit. A real shame, but there are much better options in High River.

We were in High River and required a 'plaice' to eat. Having looked on-line we felt Joeys met our requirements; although, hadn't been there before, so were a little concerned.
The service was excellent, the food was good and overall we were impressed. It's an old diner style feel and our table was clean.
Likely wouldn't drive there especially; however, would return if convenient.

We enjoy the food and atmosphere. Food and service is always excellent. The buffet on Friday is also very good.

Good sports bar with plenty of screens and Seating. Prompt and friendly bar service and a good chicken parmigiana, if a little small. Expected a larger range of draught beer but what I did drink was good.Hi, Oliver! Thank you so much for visiting! We are glad to see that you enjoyed your visit! 1950's style diner. Daily changing menu, Hand crafted Ice Cream, Pies, Bakery, Fresh Food every Day, Vegetarian, Vegan available
Tried out this restaurant with another couple for a late lunch. 60's Diner theme, with individual jukeboxes at every table. Red swivel stools at counter and booths available. Decore reminiscent of days gone by. Not a huge menu, but what they prepared for us was excellent.
The Reuben sandwiches were excellent, with melt in your mouth pastrami and homemade toasted bread. The accompanying Boston clam chowder was very flavourful, although could have use a little more substance. Two of us had a beet salad which was awesome as well.
Waitresses were pleasant and helpful, and the owner came around to discuss any concerns we might have and see how we were enjoying our meal.
All in all, a lovely lunch spot, with reasonable prices, excellent food, and a pleasant atmosphere. Will definitely go again.

The only thing that stood out about this restaurant for us was the fact that it was in a train. My husband is a huge fan of trains so he was in his element, but that was about it! We were passing through High River at lunchtime and searched the Trip Advisor app for a place to eat and found the Whistle Stop. The highlight for me was breakfast at lunch, which I will never pass up because I eat off the gluten free menu (of which there was NOT here) so eggs and bacon are pretty safe. The dessert menu was huge and I imagine that's what a lot of people come for :)
