Since some time now, this castle is under new management. Young and ambitious management no doubt after the last owner had trouble making it work. We have been here a couple of times, and the castle itself is absolutely beautifully restored. The kitchen itself tries to be high class dining and the price is accordingly. However, I am not sure if they really know what they are doing. The menu (on a clipboard!), only has THREE main course items. One fisch, one meat and one vegetarian. Better to take the suprise menu (3 , 4 or 5 courses), which seem to offer an economic and more exciting choice. You can tell them your preferences and dislikes. We took the 5 course meal, but strangely we got 2 sweet desert courses. That does not really feel like. On the other hand, the waiter/owner certainly has enthusiasm for wine and knows his stuff. I just wished he did not have to almost whisper it in my ear.
Overal, it shows that they need cut expenses whereever they can and generate a profit. That will not be easy in quite a provincial town like Coevorden, and the quality is certainly not at the level of the prices. Not bad, but just not good enough in serveral respects.

The restaurant is situated in the city centre. Typical for the restaurant is the chimney that dates from the days that Almelo was dominated by its textile / cotton industry. On entering the restaurant over the little walkway over the pond, you immediately feel comfortable. A very nice member of staff welcomes you and brings you to your table or to the bar for an aperitif. The menu offers a wide range of dishes, from combination dishes with typical Greek food or more specialty choices, but all with a very nice Greek touch. The food is absolutely fabulous, from the Gyros to the Steak and when asked, they will over some very nice wine suggestions. Definitely a place that needs to visited more than once. A taste you will not easily forget.

Myself and a group of friends arranged to meet at Nielz for evening drinks. It was a warm evening and so lovely to sit outside on the wooden benches with lots of cushions, or the chairs around the tables. Someone came pretty quickly to take our order for drinks and snacks, but the actual serving of the order took around 10 minutes or more. It wasn't too bad though, considering just how many customers were sitting outside on the Terrace and the small number of servers! The serving staff were very polite. The atmosphere was nice. I will return in the future for another pleasant evening here.

On the 23rd of January 2016 we ate at the Auberge 't Asje. Me and my gay husband and my three sisters and two brothers and their wives and husbands. We always have a New Years family Dinner. This time my youngest sister and her husband chose the restaurant.
The place is in the middle of nowhere (small village) but it's easy to find with navigation.
I guess it used to be a farmers place. Anyway we were welcomed with a sweet variation of prosecco (kir royalle). Then we had 7 courses.
First a tartar of tuna and gambas. Then carpaccio of veal. Then eel soup, then coquilles and then duck and after that cheese platter and last but not least white chocolate ice with orange mousse. It was all really nice prepared and the cook explained every dish with great enthusiasm. We definitely can recommend this place. We had a great time. The staff was really pleasant and kind.
Two dumbs up!

The White Goose is located in the forest near Dalfsen, 10 minutes drive from Zwolle. In this restaurant with a rustic, rural but also contemporary atmosphere, you can enjoy modern international inspired dishes form our open kitchen. In summer we have a beautiful Terrace in our garden. In winter we offer a romantic setting with a our fireplace.
This restaurant has a Michelin bib gourmand, which means it offers excellent food at outstanding value. My partner and I celebrated our wedding anniversary there and it turned out to be an excellent choice.
The ambiance was pleasant (busy on Friday night) the staff attentive but not intrusive and they offer a quality price combination not available elsewhere within the Randstad. One of my best dining experiences in Holland! It was lovely walking past the gaggling geese as well. Definitely want to go back around Christmas time!

You note that the chef from De Bokkepruik is very experienced and is a founding father of the Dutch haute cuisine. We had the full memu and all dishes we had, had an extreme high taste level and were made from pure ingredients. A bit unfortunate that the goose liver was forgotten in the goose liver dish however. Very nice selection of wines. The staff asks after every dish if it was tasty. That is not necessary because if it wasn't taste we would not have finished it. The price quality ratio is perfect. We also stayed at the hotel and I do recognise some of the comments made in other reviews but the price per night is not very high and hence the rooms are perfect to crash after such a nice diner. The carefully prepared breakfast completed our very nice stay in Hardenberg.

We happened upon this magical place by accident, and it is a complete hidden Gem.
Set in the heart of a beautiful wood, with endless cycle and walking paths and tracks, the Uitkijk is nestled on the top of a hill.
Had it not been fully booked we would have stayed the night with the little ones as it is welcoming, warm, incredibly smart and most importantly, cosy!
We only had a couple of burgers on the Terrace, but they were outstanding, and they were wonderful with the children.
The Apple Pie was typically Dutch and yummy, and the children spent the afternoon planting in the garden with the new owner, Helen, or playing in the adventure playground in the woods.
We will definitely make the trip back from Amsterdam, and perhaps with a group of friends as they only have 13 rooms, and they look lovely.
Thank you Helen and your team, if things are this nice a month after taking over, looks like this will go from strength to strength.
If you are in Amsterdam, and want a weekend away..... This is the place to come!

this restaurant has a buffet style service, but compared to the same style of food we have England, it is of a very high standard, the restaurant is decorated to a high standard, everything about it is classy, service is great, there isnt a huge choice of food, but what there is is very very good indeed, and there is also a teppanyaki section, cooking steak, salmon, prawns etc to order, and this too is of excellent quality.
all in all very good indeed, i have visited several times, and will continue to do so when i have the chance, its about as good as it gets.

Lovely restaurant located in a traditional village. Updated, well-prepared dishes made with regional and organic produce.
We went here for an evening meal. It is a nice modern restaurant in an characterful old building where friendly staff serve an excellent dinner, with some nice surprising tasty menu-items.
The restaurant has a good atmosphere and is certainly not expensive for the quality of food that is being served, 103 euro for a dinner for 2, including cocktails at the start and wine during the dinner.
We will certainly go again.
