Well I must say to my surprise. The Harrisburg Family House Restaurant is one of the best tasting eateries thusfar in the Harrisburg / Concord / Charlotte area.
Talk about large portions in an understatement as I ordered the catfish thinking that I would have 1 piece like the famous Cracker Barrel but instead I receive 3 full sized filets of catfish which were perfectly seasoned with hush puppies, 2 sides. All of that food for one very low price.
Now let me tell you about their infamous chicken and rice soup that puts all Grandma's on notice. This soup was some of the best that I have ever had in my 50 years on Earth. It immediately tasted like love was at my table.
Next, about those heavily seasoned flame grilled pork chops that could stand against any high end and 5 star restaurant on every good day. The were amazing. The best parts: they were tender juicy cooked to perfection and you will receive 2 per order.
I could go on and on anout this restaurant but I highly recommend that you save yourself a ton of money at chain restaurants and treat yourself to this delicious food.
Whoever is seasoning the food in that kitchen, I pray they are always on staff.
Enjoy your visit and let me know what you think.

I had a 2 hr drive in front of me and I was on fumes and in desperate need of a pick-me-up. I could've gone to the Starbucks or the Dunkin' and received an adequate supply of hot caffeine, but I wanted something more special. Found this place in Harrisburg.... MAN! The atmosphere was cozy, the staff was very friendly as well. I was unsure of what to get so I asked the attendant to suggest something that would be strong and delicious. She fixed me up right!!! Definitely will return to this place.

Yes a Dunkin Donuts is a Dunkin Donots but not this one. The coffee and donuts are well worth visiting, but what really makes this site stand out is the pleasant welcoming early morning voice coming from the speaker. I believe this voice belongs to Katz and because of hearing her wonderful voice first thing in the morning it starts and makes my day that much more wonderful. Thank you Katz.

the problem here is that they sometimes do NOT move enough product and let it sit.
employEE staff is great, BUT... if you look at open displays of large pails of ice cream you can visibly observe that the ice cream is old, has sat there a long, LONG time, and crystalized. owner/managment is problem. it takes a very long time to sell those large pails. a lot of volume to move it. THAT can take months, and OFTEN does, in open air displays. If you get , say, a banana split , the strawberries can be so old they actually FIZZ in your mouth.

Sometimes you're just in the mood for a nice plate of seafood. Not gourmet seafood preparation -- just old fashioned fried or broiled seafood plates. Captain Steve's fills the bill. The first thing you notice when you pull into the restaurant parking lot -- is that it is huge! Fortunately, Captain Steve's is a large restaurant. It is clean, neat, using lots of wood in the interior and items of the required nautical theme. The menu covers a wide variety of all the usual cast of fish -- flounder, clams, various shrimp, scallops, etc. -- both broiled and fried, separately or in diverse platter combinations. I chose a create your own fried platter with sea scallops and large shrimp with some of their homemade, hand-cut onion rings. Our wait person - Pam - was very helpful and efficient. Our dinners were soon on the table -- hot and ready to dive in. Everything was fried just right and the portions are quite large. Unless you are ravenous, there's a good chance you might be taking home a doggy box. The sweet tea was fresh, cold and nicely balanced. There is a lot of seating inside, but divided up nicely so that it has a more cozy feel. Nice place. Next time you want a nice plate of seafood, give it try!

We stopped by here for a quick dinner and enjoyed the food and the service. Give them a try when you are in the area.

First, it was nearly impossible to hear. The restaurant was busy but not packed. The sound level was deafening! We ordered cheese dip and it came out cold with a film on top. The chips were stale. We tried to order fish tacos - I asked if they came with anything in them, like cabbage or lettuce. The waiter answered cabbage. When I then asked, could I have lettuce instead, he said "are you sure?"...WTF?! He then said they came with nothing inside, the fish didn't have bones...again WTF?! We ended up ordering the cabo fish street tacos. They were skimpy and the most bland street tacos I've ever had. Zero creativity for a street taco - one small skimpy piece of bland fish with cilantro and "mango salsa"..or 3 small diced pieces of mango. My son ordered a steak dish. It was so overcooked, dry and chewy it was laughable. He said his jaw was tired after the first bite. The refried beans were a glob of cold mush and extremely unappetizing. My ears are still ringing and it wasn't from the watered down margarita I was served. Definitely not worth revisiting!

Save your money. The Popeye’s you visit at Truck Stops is the caliber of food. Very disappointed and I bought the hype. Will not ho back. Waitress was excellent and was tipped well. Manager asked how things were but did not tell him my disappointment with the food. Was not his fault. Comes from corporate.

Had never heard of Three Monkeys, friends invited us to join them on game day. Nice crowd, GREAT menu! The chicken nachos were awesome, as were the potato skins & corn fritters. Plenty of TVs to watch the game & the wait staff were incredibly attentive amidst the masses, friendly & always made sure we had everything we needed. I think we've found our new Sunday football hotspot!

Ribs. Pork. Chicken. Brisket. Hell, even sausage. All BBQ has the same three basic ingredients: smoke, meat and time. What makes it different is the amount, consideration and attention to each part of that recipe. That, and some really great bbq sauce, too. At Jim ‘N Nick’s, we pride ourselves on using the right ingredients, taking our time and honoring the traditions that brought us barbecue.
We went here for dinner and had awesome food and awesome service. First our waitress let us sample some of the main meats BBQ'd since this was our first time here. We both had the ribs and I ordered a combo plate and included the pulled pork. Servings are large. We also tried the desserts which were great too. Our waitress and the manager stopped at our table several times. We will return.
