We went to this restaurant as it was recommended, however, we found it quite average. Waitresses were lovely though but food was average at similar prices to other places where we had better meals. (Note: there are two Beethoven restaurants, we were at Beethoven I)

We drove to Haro for Sunday dinner. Should have stayed in the small town where we are residing. The Haro streets are unmarked, narrow, with no parking, sure what' new?.... with rude impatient drivers in a hurry to do nothing. But on to the Bar Vega, desultory service, no eye contact, completely disinterested service of mediocre food.
Grossly overpriced.

I have been to Haro many times this time my go to restaurant was closed , had to go to this restaurant my god what a let down.
The menestra was the worst I have ever had no flavor just like the frozen you buy at a supermarket , the blood sausage was very bland. Now the main courses where also lack luster the lamb need a better marinate , the cod in rioja sauce was ok but the sauce was bland and the merluza romana style had bad taste . Well overall was a bad meal and the service deplorable would not recommend this to any person that wanted to eat

I visited on a wet October Wednesday evening. Choosing to eat early, I occupied the second table. By the time I left, there were four tables occupied, naturally none by Spaniards before 10pm!
Service was welcoming and attentive, the grilled peppers starter hot and tasty, the leg of lamb (yes, a whole small one!) tender and gorgeous, and the home-made cheesecake delicious. I drank red Rioja by the glass, a 2011 Reservation, a perfect companion to the lamb.
Probably best for people who enjoy a large joint of lamb, beautifully prepared. I would happily dine here again.

Old cellar of the 16th century. Building of stone and wood. Five rooms with different atmospheres. Covered Terrace and outside. More than 1000 m2 garden. Children's games. Parking for more than 50 vehicles. Two underground Cellars or "calados". Creative and also traditional cuisine. Daily proposals of dishes according to season. Wine list with 500 references.
Lunch here was a highlight. Excellent fresh basque food with excellent staff and lovely restaurant. In a bit of an odd location and not simple to find its opposite was from haro on highway - but do not miss. We were first ones there at 130 but place was packed at 3- make a ressie. We had been boxed out of two winery tours for various reasons and so asked owner - a clear wine lover - for recommendations of where to just drop in. He gave us his list of personal favorites which was spot on and at a couple we were warmly welcomed (and offered to not charge which we declined) from the staff at wineries. This is a must so long as you have a car to get there from haro. Angel - well done awesome place

the absolute highlight of our trip.
we had wanted to go to the other restaurant in casalarreina, el bodejo viejo, but they were booked. when we walked into dona isabela's, it was not inspiring, but looked ok.
the restaurant wasn't busy, but had a lot of people for only one waiter. he managed admirably! this isn't hovering service, this is efficient, friendly, calm, smiling service, but you always feel attended, and he's never far away. he's great at recommending things & describing the menu.
the food was delicious. and beautiful to look at. this is a region where they don't seem to go much in for vegetables on your plate, so the dishes were a little stark, but they were simple, and delicious. they felt special, cooked with heart. beef cheeks, pork cheeks, oxtail, fish, pork filet, salads, soups, ooooh, it was difficult to choose! we had to come back the 2nd night!
definitely the highlight of our stay, and one of the only reasons to stay in casalarreina. we thought the food was extremely good value for the price!!!!!
i am helping them correct the funny spelling mistakes in their menu, and the only thing more that is needed is to get lower wattage lightbulbs, or the "warm" light kind...they could even just put shades on all the lamps? the light is pretty brutal, but you find that nearly everywhere. they don't have incandescent bulbs anymore, and nobody has quite adjusted to the quality of light that these (dreadful, but power-saving) bulbs give out!!!!

We arrived late afternoon as hotel guests and asked if kitchen was still open. Welcomed with open arms, and had an excellent meal. Tostada foie gras and salad Riojana as starters and entrecote and lamb chops as main courses. Well cooked and large portions.

A fabulous local restaurant with great service and delicious food. Our starters were freshly prepared, tasty and generous portions. We opted to share the chuleton which comes with it's own mini-hotplate so you can cook it to your own taste. Accompanied by a bottle of local Muga Rioja, it was a fantastic lunch and the service was great too.

Dropped in for pintxo as the music was playing lively. The staff were really friendly and understood our mime language! The pork skewers and patates brava were good but the squid was AMAZING! Served with salt and a balsamic green salad, it was super tasty and cooked right in front of us on the grill. The barrel tables with toothpick souvenirs are cute too. This squid was so good we brought a friend back with us the next day and ate even more plus tried the mushrooms - all good in here for a casual bar.

We went here after Reading about it in Maribel's online guide to La Rioja region. We had spent the morning on a tour of Miguel Merino and Remelluri. We arrived about 240p with no reservation. We were lucky to get a table (they only have...MoreGRACIAS por su comentario es muy importante para nosotros esperamos su visita un abrazo muy grande de la FAMILIA ARIÑO
