The staff are the rudest people ever. I keep saying this is the last time. But the food is really good. So I come again and just deal with it.

First I'll start by saying that we've been going to Shelly's for Ice Cream Shakes long before they opened the Ice Cream window next to the restaurant.
Second - Since it's mostly the Shelly Family who work here, they have learned the family work ethic: Polite, Friendly, Great Service, and Pride in their work.
Third - it's just about the ONLY Ice Place that doesn't rip you off when you ask for Hand Packed by the Pint or Quart. These people know how to pack Ice Cream. NO giant air bubbles, no NOT pushing down. When you buy a quart you GET a quart. (Not like another place further up the road next to Dunkin Donuts. They NEVER filled their quarts and never had friendly workers.)
Shelly's Ice Cream Stand has a wide selection of flavors and many choices of how to enjoy them. ie: Sugar Cone, Wafer Cone, Waffle Cone, cup: sm, med. lg - Walnuts, Wet Walnuts, Jimmies, etc.
NOTE: They have a couple of picnic benches behind the stand and a hand washing station in front. No sense holding a cone with dirty hands.
NOTE: In the off-season the stand is closed BUT go right inside for fresh ice cream - - - it's right there for you, so why not?

At the Bongo Road House we pay homage to the American Road Trip with regionally inspired dishes from our travels coast to coast. Enjoy fresh seafood, po' boys, enchiladas, bbq & steaks. We have a full bar with craft & domestic beers and a variety of spirits including those distilled right here in Pennsylvania. Happy Hour every day from 5-7.
This place is amazing ! Tried it in the summer and ordered a burger platter to be safe and was impressed with the quality of the meat, bun and fries. Everybody else's meal was also impressive for ordinary entrées they ordered. Came back in September and I'll be honest I pulled in the lot and pulled out but then realizing my options in the area returned and ordered dinner. I have to say this was one of the best meals I ever had at the restaurant. The Oktoberfest menu was amazing. you could tell the dinner was made by a chef who cares about his food. Everything from the mustard dressing to the Apple bread pudding was home made and you could tell. Reasonably priced especially for the size and quality of ingredients. I appreciate that the beer offering was extensive and also reasonable ( $4 for a 23oz yuengling ) . The service was attentive and fast. I will definitely be returning and looking forward to it. Do yourself a favor give this gem a chance you wont be sorry, And no I do not know the owner or have any interest in this restaurant just appreciate this place because there aren't a lot of restaurants of this caliber in the area.

Nestled on a corner of a small road in the town of Sterling in the Poconos this little cafe offers good bistro fare at an affordable price. Known by the locals as having delicious breakfast and brunch selections another couple and my husband and I decided to try it ourselves. The luncheon menu has a large selection of paninis, wraps, hot dogs, burgers, and pizzas which can be accompanied by soup and salad.
I selected the "chef's choice" which was a chicken club consisting of a panko chicken breast topped with pepper jack and cheddar cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion and their signature romoulade and potato chips. My husband's choice was a Philly steak sandwich, and both of us were happy with our meal.
Our friends who are vegetarians were pleased that they could order from the menu and tried their peanut butter silk pie, one of their specialties, for dessert.
Our waitress was very cordial and the owner/chef came to our table to see if we were satisfied with our meals.
When next time we are in the area, we will return.

Great ending or a destination for a ride thru the poconos. Delicious soft swirl and hand dipped cones & sundaes. Offers some hot food items, too. Area with picnic tables on site.

Over the weekend my husband and I visited this fantastic German restaurant in the Poconos. It's part antique shop, part BBQ shack, but also has a sit-down restaurant inside with a wider variety of foods, mostly focusing on traditional German cuisine. Everything is homemade and the German hostess/owner (who also cooked some of the food) was very accommodating.
Fresh German food, like you are in Deutschland! This place is a small family owned and operated, it only has a few tables and meals are prepared completely fresh. It's a must to have a reservation.
The restaurant is inside their Antique Store, with a BnB upstairs! It's like sitting at dinner in your great-grandmothers house, very warm and inviting!

Up until approx 2yrs ago, this place was phenomenal. I've been a patron here, for 28 seasons. Unfortunately most recent visit rates a score of just average. The sauce/seasoning most definately changed, something changed, sorry... The sides are still very, very good. The chicken is cooked to perfect doneness, good sized, still fair pricing on everything. We will return again, maybe once more this season. Disappointed.

Since 1976, Twin Rocks Diner has been a family owned restaurant that has provided quality food at a reasonable price. Our locally-bought meat has helped define the superior flavor of our famous burgers and tender steaks, cooked to your preference. Our Breakfast any time menu includes our full plate omelets, pancakes and our homemade white sausage gravy deluxe. Our lunch menu offers specialty sandwiches daily, jumbo burgers, homemade chili, wraps, healthy salads and more. Dinners include great steaks, pork chops, Turkey, fish and homemade meatloaf just to name a few. After your meal enjoy one of our many homemade desserts like brownie ala mode, strawberry shortcake, not to mention, our tempting homemade cream pies (Chocolate, Peanut Butter, and Coconut), as well as, rice pudding. Give us a call to check out our soup of the day, or to place reservations for large parties.
Dad ordered the Roast Beef Senior Dinner with a Side of Mashed Potatoes and Gravy and another side of Cottage Cheese, he was very happy with his meal. For dessert he had the pumpkin pie slice with whipped cream.
I had the Southern Fried Steaks with Pepper Gravy and a side of French Fries and Corn.
We both enjoyed multiple cups of the bottomless coffee and had great service from the new waitress. The place was clean and the food excellent. I am so happy they are keeping the menu the same because our favorites are all there and the service cannot be beaten. Thanks for a continued tradition of excellence.

Great blue collar bar and restaurant located in the middle of Hamlin. The bar and restaurant offers drink and food specials on a daily basis making it very affordable to have a nice evening out or enjoy a nice lunch. Live entertainment on the weekends. Separate banquet room offering catered events.
This was the old Beef n Brew, we always looked forward to stopping into the local dive for a burger and a cold one. Completely updated now, the place is better than ever. The new menu is killer! Excellent choices and whoever is in the kitchen knows what they are doing. The biggest change in my opinion is they no longer allow smoking inside.. luv it! Whenever we are in the area, R Place is a must stop for us, its R favorite place.
