This hotel is set in nice Gardens with a lake and plenty of birds about. You stay in semi-detached cottages in large garden area. Walk from reception/restaurant to rooms is across an area of slabs with spaces in between them and at night there is not a lot of lighting so could be a trip hazard. Cottage interior could be done with a fresh coat of paint and there were a couple of loose floor tiles, but the room and bedding was clean and the food was good and plenty of choice. The staff were excellent and friendly.

The buffet looked great. We just wanted a quick Sandwich. Big mistake. Cheese and tomatoes toasty was awful. Club Sandwich a little better. Staff looked beautiful, but were clearly generally unhappy. Of the six we saw, none of them could smile. Perhaps we should have had the buffet. Disappointing experience.

We arrived out of the blue, during low season looking for some authentic Sri Lankan food to get away from all the western offerings at our hotel and we couldn't have been more pleased! We had our Reservations initially as the restaurant was empty and we were the only guests, however this place is an absolutely amazing find! We had a vegetarian rice and curry and it was some of the best we've had in our 3 months of travelling around the island - the yam curry, jackfruit curry and okra curry were absolutely outstanding!!
The service was incredible - nothing felt like too big an ask and they were so kind with organising us a tuk tuk for the journey home.
We adored our meal and meeting the family that run this establishment - it has our full recommendation! You won't regret it!

This place was recommended by our guide Lucky and did not disappoint. We had the barbecue platter between us which was more than enough for 2 with massive prawns and all in all great food. The service was good and the staff friendly. Great value for money.

Despite its name this is mainly a restaurant with some accommodation as well.
We chose the restaurant by chance - I had noticed it as we drove out earlier in the day and figured it would make a pleasant lunch stop. When we happened to be in the same area later in the day I directed our guide to try this place. We weren't to be at all disappointed.
We chose to eat the regular Sri Lankan curry and rice that was on offer, but there was nothing simple and routine about it. Besides the large amount of rice available we also had eight other dishes presented to us, each one having been cooked to our preference (spicier than most western taste) and fresh as anything could be. Each dish on its own was delicious and in combination they played tunes on our tastebuds. Accompanied by fresh and unsweetened lime sodas this was "simple" food at its finest - simple to many it may seem but quite delicious and never to be equalled in the rest of our trip.
Try it and you won't be disappointed.

Not where I would have stopped, too "local" for my choice. But we had an excellent lunch served by an elderly gentleman who was lovely. As we discussed what each of the 6 dishes contained that were just one vegetable curry, he brought the raw vegetables to our table to show us. Not smart or trendy, but tasty and wholesome food.

This is probably one of the best buffet restaurants I've ever visited. There is a huge range of different dishes to choose from. This includes Western and Eastern dishes, vegetarian options, soups, breads, etc. One thing I'd not seen before was a "salad station" where you pick a range of vegetables and a dressing, and a chef chops and mixes it up for you.
Desserts are a bit disappointing as they look amazing, but are mostly lacking flavour. The homemade ice cream is the exception to this rule.
The biggest problem with the restaurant is that it is very popular with coach parties. I was staying at the hotel, and although it is a big hotel, it never felt busy...except at the dinner buffet. There can be queues for popular dishes and they can even run out of some items.

This is an awesome Sri Lankan experience! My husband and I stayed at Cinnamon Lodge and this restaurant was around the corner. It doesn't look fancy but the food was delicious and even though we just ordered chicken curry, we received a lot more. Dinner for two cost around 15 euros.
The best thing about this place was the lady who cooked and served the dinner for us. What a personality! She kept us company and made sure that everything was good with us and that we enjoyed the food.

A mixed A' la carte menu of Sri Lankan, European, Chinese and Indian is readily available to keep your taste buds scintillating with jaw twisting collision of sweet and sour, bitter and spicy, salty and pungent, all in one sitting! Dinner is a totally different story, as our experienced chiefs treat diners to our "Daily Specials" which are cuisines of their own countries.
Just wanted a quick dinner as have been travelling for several weeks. Nice service family business. Wife and husband were very friendly and kind. My husband had chicken in mushroom sauce and I had chicken and pork both with rice. Very tasty and quick service. Drop by you will be looked after and support local businesses.
