Leon's is a time warp sort of place that evokes nostalgia for the drive in (not drive through) of the 1950s. The frozen custard is very good, and compares favorably with my favorite Gilles, and Kopp's, Kitt's, Northpoint and Culver's. The service is better at Gilles, the selection of flabors is better at Kopp's, and there's less racism at all the other places. Just like the good things from the 1950s, this place retains some of the less savory aspects of good old days. The owner forbids the mostly Mexican-American staff from speaking Spanish in spite of the rather large proportion of customers that are Latino. He was unrepentant when his intolerant views went public, and since then we are all free to vote with our pocketbooks. In spite of his intolerant views he still gets a healthy number of local Spanish speaking customers. He no doubt gets some customers who support his English Only views. For me, I do think the service and selection is better at Gilles where the workers seem to be treated with more respect.

That's Amore established in 1990 is a local favorite hotspot. Family owed and operated featuring authentic Italian cusine, plus traditional American favorites such as Prime Rib. That's Amore has won numerous awards for it's authentic food, casual atmosphere and great value. Winner of Milwaukee's Favorite Italian restaurant by City Voter & WISN.
It has been a long time since we’ve been to That’s Amore and after this last visit I don’t know why we have waited so long to revisit them. In the probably 15 years since our last visit the interior hasn’t changed all that much — Dean Martin is still the star on the walls — but my impression of the food has taken a huge leap forward.
With an ample menu and daily specials there is a lot to choose from. Prices are appropriate for a popular Milwaukee Suburban restaurant. This isn’t NYC and it isn’t some little hick town — the prices are right where they should be; the service was excellent; and the food was outstanding.
From salad to entree the dishes were well presented & tasty. The salad was chilled — no warm lettuce drenched in cold dressing. Our entrees (one special and one main menu choice) arrive hot, well seasoned (neither overly seasoned nor bland), and enough for a grown man’s appetite. The wine list is adequate and our brandy old fashioned were just right.
I’m sure we’ll be back sooner rather than later.

Ricardo's Pizza has the right formula for tastes of the folks in Greendale. They have a great assortment of Pizzas, other Italian foods and sandwiches. Their daily specials and family specials satisfy the budget conscious customer. We eat or carry out from Ricardo's at least once each month.

Take a step back in time at Joey Gerard's, a Hollywood-style supper club that features traditional, time-tested menu offerings, nightly specials, and classic cocktails and ice cream drinks. Steaks, chops and seafood are cooked in the Midwest's first Josper charcoal ovens, giving them a perfectly seared outside and a succulent, juicy inside. The restaurant serves up a warm, nostalgic vibe with its dark leather booths, period light fixtures and walls covered in black and white photos of celebrities enjoying the supper club experience in the 1950s and '60s.
Was fortunate to get a reservation on a Saturday evening in the holiday season. But when we arrived we were seated promptly and on time. We enjoy the ambience of the place and generally it’s a perfect place for a quiet dinner... but this night the place was bustling and quite loud. Still that didn’t distract from the methodical service and food delivery.
Wine selection was excellent and evening specials were explained.
Kid dishes were available for our two grandkids and they are the best values in the place. We all ordered steaks which met the expectations but were served only warm but savory. I do think two of us had steaks that were over cooked but not to a point of disappointment. Portion size was filling.
Our server was there when we needed but not overbearing.
We’d go back.

Always wanted to try this place so daughter and I headed there on a Saturday around 11:30 am - crazy busy! Upon entering a leaving customer said, "Think the rooster is angry today," which made me nervous. Signed up at the counter and was told 45 minutes to an hour, which was fine since I could go to a couple stores first, and we could track our time on a tracker on a Yelp app. Super easy. Very nice waitress and timely with our order. Daughter was extremely impressed with the bacon and her chocolate chip pancakes. I enjoyed eggs overeasy, toast, bacon and their red potatoes (which weren't my favorite, but many enjoy). I'd go again - but not if in a rush.

We hit Kopp’s for burgers and custard every time we come back to the Milwaukee area from Southern California and it doesn’t disappoint!
Been visiting Kopp’s on and off for over 30 years and it’s amazing how the burgers and custard still taste the same after all these years!
It feels like we’ve made it back home when we see the Kopp’s sign and walk in to see everyone in their white uniforms with white paper hats!!When in the Milwaukee area Kopp’s is a must stop for anyone who enjoys this type of food!!
How I wish there was a Kopp’s in the greater Los Angeles area...yes, we have mail ordered Kopp’s a few times over the years!!!

The food is overall good; however, the last two times when I had the fish tacos they were "fishy" tasting. I made a comment the second time and was given a gift card (which I didn't ask for, but thought it was a nice gesture). El Beso is close by and I will go there again. The restaurant can get quite noisy (I think it's the high ceilings).

First of all, I have to say that this is my second review for this restaurant. The first was about 3 months ago and for dinner. This review is from this past week for lunch. I met a couple of my friends at Double B BBQ for lunch. I had raved about this restaurant to them and to the readers of this restaurant's review through Trip Advisor. The three of us ordered three different meals, one had the Brisket of Beef, another had the Combo of Burnt Ends and Kielbasa (Polish Sausage). I had the half rack of Baby Back Ribs. We shared a little and wow -- all were just sensational. My Baby Back Ribs were like eating the Prime Rib of Pork! I have never had ribs as good as these and they were oh so moist and tasty. I love Baby Backs and these though the size of St. Louis ribs are as tender as it gets. Lots of meat unlike some of those places that have all bone and no meat. The Burnt Ends were outstanding and while being a Milwaukee native and used to Kielbasa in a somewhat large population of Poles in the Milwaukee area, these sausages which are also freshly smoked, tasted as good any I have had and the sides, Cold Slaw and Baked Beans were a great compliment. We came on a Friday for lunch at noon. By 1:00, the place was packed. The bar stools were full too for the overflow who couldn't get a table. This place is doing really well. The food is outstanding, but so is the wait staff. The owners have a really good crew working here and it shows. I can't wait to get back again. If you like BBQ, this is the place. If you love BBQ, You have to come here! You will not be disappointed. The food is great, the place is clean with a really nice décor and with the warm feeling of a BBQ restaurant. Yes, they have sandwiches of the pulled pork and much much more. Prices are definitely in line with the quantity and size. What more can I say? Ok, I will say more --- this is the 5 star of BBQ in the world!!! I hope you all enjoy this place as much as I did!
And, this is not an advertisement. Check out my other reviews. I tell it like it is. I don't like some places and I say so! This place however, is one of the best!

Drillings Panther Eatery and Pub hit the spot when we needed a snack and some beverages. We started with a Rail Whiskey Old Fashion and a Pony Killer. Nicely done classic and craft cocktails. Good start to the meal.
We ordered the pretzel and the pickle chips. Perfect pub grub to graze on. The pretzel was warm and fresh. A tad heavy on the salt which can be scrapped off. The beer cheese and mustard are prefect for dipping. The pickle chips were delicious. A few River west beers were the ideal accompaniment.
The broader menu is appealing and worth coming back to try.
