Great place to have breakfast or lunch. The food is fantastic. The staff is so friendly, they enjoy talking to their their customers to the detriment of fast service. Friends and I went for morning coffee a few times here, but it took about half an hour for all of us to have our drinks. Another time, busy breakfast time, two people serving - and chatting with customers. Come on ladies, get your orders out and then chat.

Aquacaf Gourmet Cafe is a riverside cafe/restaurant offering delicious breakfast, lunch, dinner, coffee and cakes and the best scones in Goolwa. We use as much local fresh produce as we can and our wine list is predominately local wine. We are open 6 days a week from Thursday to Monday (shut Tuesdays) Open 7 days a week during school holidays. We are also open for dinner, Friday and Saturday nights (seasonally so please check when booking).
Good spot for a coffee or a light meal. Views of the river and a pleasant ambience. Easy access worth a visit or two

It's quite amazing what these people can do in their little kitchen attached to this beach front kiosk/restaurant
Whilst predominantly focussed on seafood there is plenty on offer for those not so keen on fish
My mate and I had the flathead whilst our wives each chose a salad with hot seafood including prawns and some grilled fish . Ours was good theirs was better
My first visit here for many years but must visit more frequently
Suggest you make a booking in holiday times

Hectors On The Wharf is a cafe bar overlooking the Murray River in Goolwa, South Australia. The establishment itself is uniquely positioned on the historic Goolwa Wharf, and is accessible not only by foot or car, but by boat as well. The name of the cafe comes from a local historic character called Hector, who was a fisherman on the Coorong and lived on a wooden boat by the Goolwa Wharf for more than 40 years. Hectors on the Wharf is open for breakfast and lunch every day, and dinners on Friday Saturday nights during the warmer months of the year. The menu uses local produce where possible, and boasts a fantastic array of fresh, beautifully prepared seafood. Thats not to say that you should be discouraged from ordering other items off the menu, which include gorgeous salads, pastas, burgers, and a selection of specials that are frequently changed depending on what is seasonally available. Our menu also provides for special dietary requirements and our kitchen staff will do their best to cater for your needs. The restaurant is fully licensed and stocks a range of local wines, beer, and spirits. Though primarily promoted on Friday nights our cocktail menu is functional throughout the week. You're very welcome to bring a bottle of wine along to compliment your meal though this will incur a corkage fee. Don't fancy a meal? Hectors has a range of delicious cakes and biscuits available and has a reputation in Goolwa for having the best coffee in town! Though it isn't necessary to reserve a table during the summer period it is recommended because of the busy nature of the cafe. We are also available for private functions. If you would be interested in booking Hectors for an evening please call us and speak to one of our friendly staff.
Had a wonderful family lunch at Hectors today with a lovely view of the Murray River. Excellent menu, I'm gluten intolerant and allergic to onion and my meal was fantastic. The whole family enjoyed it, our waitress was terrific and the service was really good. Great menu and wine list, coffee and cake was beautiful. Thanks everyone, see you very soon.

Near the entrance of a shopping centre, this café is part outside and part inside the centre. It’s in quite a busy area and gives shoppers the opportunity to have a coffee and snack. So it meets a need. The coffee’s fine, costs are reasonable and the service is friendly and pretty quick.
