A very tiny place and the scenery is perfect, you can order that meal like an aperative but the staff is very unfriendly I don't know if it is worth for just sitting in front of the river.

Smart restaurant with elevated views of the Danube. There is a 3.50 cover charge that covers an attractive box containing 3 bread types, homemade Austrian sausage, butter and a tomato mousse. ( see pic). Menu choices of classical Austrian dishes, specialty dishes. Currently (October) there is a game menu it has a fixed price but one can order individually of it. The open wine is of the local top wine producers. We tried a Netzle red.

This stop was a rest stop and snack trip for our tour group on the way from Vienna to Graz. Autogrill welcomes large tour buses, so our driver stopped with them when he could. They are less common in Austria than they are in Italy (at least along our routes) but our group liked them better. The biggest reason for this was they do not charge to use the restrooms.
The food is often homemade, is delicious, the atmosphere is restful, the buildings and grounds are very clean, and there is space to exercise animals, and walk about. All of this is positive for drivers. The US could learn a thing or two about highway rest-stops from these experts, who got it right the first time.

The Muhr in Gallbrunn used to be a village inn, until gourmet food made its grand entrance. But the old inn dishes simply refused to abandon the premises.
We were in this lovely and very cosy restaurant for Saturday´s evening dinner and it was very nice spent time. The Landgasthof is located only 30 minutes from Vienna and offers very good cuisine from fresh products.
The food was tasty with its special home-made touch and their desserts were great. The wine list was very good too. But the most importatnt reason, why to come back and recommand this hidden gem, was the maximal friendly and helpful staff. The guys were trying their best to make us feel good and let us enjoy our evening.

The so-called bittermann vinarium is a modern country inn: within age-old walls awaits a true land of plenty for all those who love to eat and drink well.
This restaurant is just great! We sat outside under a large umbrella watching the world (not much going on in this little village) go by! Lovely service - prompt and not intrusive. We were five and some had starters, some just mains - sadly no...MoreThanks for your kind words! Our chef and our restaurant manager as well as their teams are very thankful if our efforts are recognized by our guests! We are pleased to welcome you again in our restaurant. Kind regards bittermann-Vinarium Team

After a shopping afternoon in the Outlet stores, we chose Landhaus for dinner.
The menu is varied and we had the Tiroler Gröstl which was very good and a dish of pork meat in mushroom sauce with mini pies potatoes.
The only downside of this place was that smoking was aloud. Probably there was a non-smoking area in the restaurant but we just assumed from he start that it is a non-smoking restaurant.

It has a pleasant position on the Hauptplatz with large shade parasols if needed. The menu is predominantly Italian but there are a limited number of Austrian staple dishes if you want them. The food is good and the service is friendly. There is also plentiful indoor Seating.

The Harrachkeller is in the grounds of Schloss (Castle) Prugg where the old stables are situated. It has a marvelous setting and is much larger than it first looks. There is both indoor and outdoor Seating. If you are coming on a weekend you really should book as it gets very busy and it can be difficult to park your car.
Food is typical Austrian, dark meats and huge portions and loaded with cholesterol I am sure! We ordered a single apple strudel for dessert and two of us could not finish it! If you are passing through, it is well worth stopping at this restaurant.

The town of Bruck is about 35 kms outside of Vienna. The Gasthaus zur Linde is in the oldest part of the town dating back to the 16th century. It is family owned and has been handed down the generations.
Inside there is an area that remembers a U-Boat captain who fought for the axis in WWII. We stopped for a few drinks and drank in the marvelous atmosphere.
