Glenwood is a city in Pike and Montgomery counties in Arkansas. The community is located along the Caddo River in the Ouachita Mountains. Glenwood was formed as a boomtown following the development of the Gurdon and Fort Smith Railroad and timber interests in the area. After the establishment of a lumber mill, the community received a post office and incorporated in April 1909. Although the community saw its major employer leave during the Great Depression, the city has again seen rapid growth in recent decades. The city also sees significant tourism related to its scenic position in the Ouachitas and among several recreational lakes.

The pastas with chicken were good; the stromboli was great and the calzone was great, it contained mozzarella, pepperoni and ricotta; the ricotta helped out the calzone and make it extra nice. The lunch specials were good, most came with a salad and rolls and the entree which was very good sized and all of it was served piping hot. The rolls were a garlic bread twist roll served with home made marina red sauce and we requested and received more when our basket was empty. The dough from the stromboli and calzone was fresh, crispy and tender--not a cracker crust that is the norm around this area. The lunch specials were about 6 or 7 $ and a very economical deal. The waitress was very good, the business was attractive and clean. Would go back when in the area again.

Do you trust Internet reviews? Throw out the highs and lows and trust the average of the middle? Kinda shaky about going to a Fish restaurant near the Ouachita Mountains? I was shaky but I'm not now. This place isn't a Seafood restaurant, it's a Chicken Fried Steak/Fried Catfish family restaurant. And I can tell you to believe the good reviews of the Buffet Bar. It was excellent. Rolled into the FULL parking lot (a good sign) at 12:05pm with 20+ motorcycle buddies. Some guy (looking important like a Manager) came over and asked "How many do you have?" Took me a second to get my helmet off and reply about the 20 of us, and we were told that there was a table at the back just that size and to just head that way. Cool! We all had the buffet and it was great. My favs: the Fried Catfish, the Chicken, the Salisbury steak, and all the veggies. The cornbread muffins were pretty good too. Least favs were the Hushpuppies and the Onion Rings (watch out at the salad bar - the tartar sauce is not well marked and some of my group put it on their salads thinking Ranch Dressing!) Here's the best part though... the buffet was $7.49! A
plain fast food 2-piece catfish/fries is that much where I live! Consensus among 20 motorcycle buddies? A great bargain. Let's hit them again soon.

The atmosphere is great, the staff is awesome, food is authentic and amazing. This is hands down our favorite Mexican restaurant EVER, not just in Glenwood. Mary, the manager, is just awesome. She visits each table and checks on everything. Sylvia and Ashley, the waitresses, are on top of everything and friendly. Armando, the owner, makes sure everything and everyone is doing their job at 150%. We go there every Friday night, at least. Never have ordered anything off the menu that we didn't love and the queso is off the charts and so is the guacamole. Don't waste you time going anywhere else and def don't waste your time going to the other Mex rest in town. Las Agaves is where it's at, hands down. Even the kitchen staff are friendly and awesome. It's like going to eat at your friends house, not at a restaurant where all they want is your money. These people are our familia!!!!

Upon entering the restaurant, we were taken to a table by a young lady who could not seem to muster up a smile. We encountered the same thing with each employee who had a part in our meal down to the cashier. No one smiled. The waitress did come to our table several time to inquire if everything was okay. No smile, didn't even look at us and was quick to walk away. This was our first time to eat here and we did really like the food, but the employees need to be trained in friendliness. It's enough to make us not want to go back.

We stopped in to grab a quick bite while spending the day floating the river at caddo camping and canoe. Tons of menu options including both American and Mexican dishes. Huge portions, friendly and prompt service, and delicious food. Would defiantly go again.

It's not a new shiney diner, but I wouldn't expect that or want it this far out. We would definitely return. Our breakfast was delicious, and service was sweet and efficient. Omelletes and pancakes, both thumbs up!

I could eat here everyday. Food is amazing. Only downside is they randomly close without warning. People drive 30 miles or more and often find a closed sign in window.

I was visiting Glenwood for a couple of days and came across this little gem. The pizza was delicious and the breadsticks were definitely some of the best I've had. All of their special pizzas are great and I love their buy 3 pizzas of the same size and get a 4th free! So yummy I definitely recommend this place. I think my favorite was the bacon ranch one.

We had ice cream and it was very delicious! The hot fudge sundae with the brownie fudge sundae ice cream was to die for! My friends had shakes and said they were also delicious! The server was very friendly and helpful!Thank you for visiting and sharing on TripAdvisor. We're very pleased that you enjoyed your ice cream and our service. We hope you visit our other Baskin Robbins stores in DeQueen, Murfreesboro, and coming soon to Gurdon. Hope to see you again soon. Sincerely,

Closest Sonic is in Glenwood. Someone was going to put one in Mt. Ida but the owners of the Dariette complained and the city would not allow one to be built. So much for good ol' competition.
