We will be OPEN ALL WINTER.
I couldn't figure out why they came so highly recommended. Their beef was ridiculously soft but everything else was regular BBQ to me. The coyote balls were good. We didnt have to wait for a table and our food came out in about 15min which was awesome. Kids liked the chicken tenders. It was a nice quiet drive there because there isnt much around it.

Pies
we tried a couple of slices and hands down our favorite was the caramel coconut. definitely something I've never had anywhere else and it was very good. I'd suggest ordering ahead of time if you want a whole pie to make sure your favorite is available.

It's not Starbucks and that's great with me as I like the Hippo's regular coffee way more than I ever did Starbucks and I didn't have to remember a new jargon to get what I want, service is always with a smile, prompt and accurate. It's a consistent way to start your day off right in my book, prices are good.

Stopped here for lunch before a trip to Dinosaur Valley. Was pleasantly surprised. Very cute kid friendly place with delicious soups and sandwiches. I had the ABC (avocado, bacon and cheese) on sourdough bread with french onion soup. They both were amazing. My granddaughter had pb&j with sliced apples and the sandwiches were shaped like dinosaurs. Lots of people eating and enjoying very friendly staff and great service

This little bakery is hidden inside a gas station that I have driven by for years! Happened to stop for gas and left with scones (FABULOUS) and a cheese Danish. They were giving out samples of their wheat rolls....shouldn't have left without them! Very friendly staff! We will be back!

Called in at Glen Rose in search of ice cream after visiting dinosaur state park.
We were in luck as we parked right in front of Shoo Fly Soda Shop!
Lovely family owned place with old fashioned 1950's style bar, soda fountain and coke memorabilia.
There is also a shop section selling really nice gift items some household items and clothing.
Had an ice cream each and it cost less than $4 for the two as we had apparently visited during "happy hour"!
Great place to stop for a while and the ice cream was wonderful.

My husband and I were looking for a healthier (in comparison to other area restaurants) dinner option the evening before running in the Spartan Sprint Obstacle Race and came here. Unfortunately, we did not have reservations on such a populated weekend, but they squeezed us into a time slot about 2 hours later, around 7pm. That gave us plenty of time to stroll around the charming little downtown of Glen Rose before returning to eat. And thankfully our race time was after noon the next day, so even 7pm wasn't too late for us. And boy, was it worth the wait! I had the salmon, which was absolutely delicious, and my husband had the chicken, which he enjoyed immensely as well! We also ended up devouring the wonderful yeast rolls, even though we only intended to have a bite! Would have loved to indulge in dessert as well, but alas, had to extend some self control in keeping with all our training and hard work for the race!! Will definitely return if ever in the area again! The historic house the restaurant is in is charming as well!

That's always a good time. Seemed to be filled primarily with locals. Picnic tables with paper towels as placemats and extra "napkins." Prompt service. Big portions. My brother and husband had the brisket sandwiches. My sister-in-law had the burger basket with fries (she & my brother declared they were very good), and I had the loaded baked potato with chopped brisket. OMG If I could rate only that it would be 5 stars. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a photo before I had devoured it.

We stopped by for a quick blizzard yesterday and they were fast and did a great job. The young lady gave us back to much change which we quickly let her know. The manager thanked us. We appreciated the fast service and the nice attitudes.

This is just an average Italian place. The salad looked like it came from a bag. Rolls we're just warmed up. Garlic bread looked made in house but was just ok. I had chicken parmigiana. Noodles were luke-warm, sauce tasted like it came out of a can, breading on chicken was soggy. It wasn't restaurant quality. The restaurant itself was small, old, and uninviting. The bathroom has a giant dirty baby changing table blocking the whole thing. Would be nice if they had one that folded from the wall.
