I had the set menu one evening in a not particularly busy restaurant. It was OK, but really for this quality of hotel I thought the food could have been better. The salad with the cheese croquettes was rather uninspiring, and the main course of chicken breast was so over-cooked that it was almost inedible. Dessert - fruit salad - was fine, but in a way one comes to a Serena for something a bit better than a few pieces of cut up fruit. Even the coffee could perhaps have been stronger, but I suppose that is a matter of taste.

It's an average meal and the wine selection is limited but the location is lovely overlooking the lake.

ThaiJazz is nicely located in a quiet part of the beach front. You can sit there and watch the yachts en route to Goma, the flights in and out and the small boats taking tourists for a tour. Jamil the owner is really friendly and has lots of stories to tell. Try their special beans. Don't be in a hurry, it may take time to get ready but it is really good.

We decided to visit the Wine Garage purely for the wine, but stayed for a wonderful meal! Lovely little place, great ambience, great wine, and honestly hands down the best pizza I've probably ever had in Rwanda. Brilliant service as well, so very happy we came across this place!
