I stop in at this Dairy Queen every Sunday on my way to work in Austin,TX from Houston,TX for the week. I have always found the counter staff to be friendly and efficient. I really look forward to stopping at the Giddings, TX Dairy Queen.
Once I even had a car problem, (dead battery), and the fellow behind the counter, got me help from on the girls working in the back with a jump start and I was on my way.
I call that taking care of your customers. Love this place, see you next Sunday evening.

Looks like they tore down the building they were in and have built a new one calling it Fresh Donuts. They are not open yet, so can't say their donuts are as good as the old one.

Fine Mexican Food
Great food, excellent service. We recently stayed in Giddings and decided to eat here based soley on the number of vehicles in the parking lot. Even though it was a Wednesday night the place was packed. The staff was friendly and efficient, quickly serving us and the surrounding tables, like a well oiled machine. One thing I noticed were their matching outfits; a dark red shirt with the restaraunt logo and black slacks. Everyone looked sharp. Made me feel that if the staff looked that good then that care probably extended to the kitchen. Our food arrived and was hot. We ordered chicken fajitas, cheese enchiladas and shrimp fajitas, with accompanying sides. All were perfectly cooked and well seasoned. We will definitely eat here again.

You can tell by the line it's good. Super busy, but efficiently fast. Staff is really friendly and the food is awesome. Their menudo is some of the best I've ever had. Don't balk at the prices, the tacos are worth every penny! Locals and out-of-towners all enjoy this place!

Today, while traveling from Austin to Bryan, I took a detour to visit my favorite source for great barbecue - the City Meat Market in Giddings. This family run operation, while not fancy, provides some of the greatest barbecue in Texas, and the sausage is particularly outstanding. If you are in the area, give it a try.

We have stopped several times over the last few years and it is like eating at my grandmother's table. Very good southern comfort food from the buffet at lunch has been our experience and it is always delicious. The bread and cornbread is really good and the homemade desserts are divine. This is a great place to stop on your way to your destination. It is worth a detour if it is not on your route. Very reasonable prices on the lunch buffet and very attentive service.

Judging by the crowded parking lot, we thought this place would be terrific. We were seated quickly and given our menus. With cattle ranches in every direction, I anticipated exceptional steaks. The restaurant was big, noisy, too bright and too fast paced. We both felt we were being rushed, with our food delivered rapidly, one thing after another. Once our entrees arrived, we never saw our waiter again, and had to look for others to help us. Most disappointing were the steaks; filets. They weren't as tender as we expected and totally lacked flavor. Over priced and under delivered.

My nephew took me here while I was visiting the area. Being from back east this is definitely a destination and restaurant. Outside 85 gas pumps, Inside is you can buy just about anything. You can browse for about a half hour just to see everything, Then BBQ, jerky, fudge, sandwiches, and more. Interesting stop if you have the time .

We are just a small Mom & Pop restaurant that specializes in great "QUALITY" food at a reasonable price. Most of the time we are OPEN between 11:00 a.M. & 8 P.M. However sometimes we go fishing or camping, occasionally we just take a break. BUT we hope you stop in and visit with us. Feel free to call ahead and make sure we have the grill going. Thanks and see you soon !
After not getting in on 2 prior attempts because they were having a private parties, we finally found them open to the public.Unfortunately, this time a bus load of high school soccer players got there just before we did. The result was a 40 minute wait. The cheeseburger was very good - a large and thick patty cooked just right. But the fries were room temperature and limp - almost mushy. Not sure the burger is good enough to offset the bad.
