I wore the first review here of Chicken Hauz, but, though it had excellent chicken, it closed some time ago. Now people are writing reviews of a different Chicken Hauz which is located in the same area of General Santos City, towards which people are giving some negative criticism here. This accounts for the quite different ratings "Chicken Hauz" suddenly began to receive here.
I had to give a rating here now--the "excellent" rating is of the original restaurant.

You need to understand the country and its food culture, however, Ranchero supposed to be steakhouse and seafood together, and price for the food is way too expensive in view to city and country considered. While i enjoyed food in general there is nothing to speak about or memorable about this location for the price tag. service is almost always good in any filipino restaurant if you are familiar with the country, same applies here. good for one visit, but thats all

The place is a far from the city proper but it's worth spending time to go there. The place is beautifully landscaped with lots of picture perfect spots. It also offers an over looking view of the city proper, great city lights at night. Dining can be in their hall or al fresco in their pocket Gardens located all around the place. Tried several of their menus and everything was good, worth paying extra hundreds for the food and ambiance. Added feature of the restaurant is the band playing where guests can request for their favorite songs. Good to have an early dinner since it gets crowded 7pm up. Great place, a must in a GenSan visit!

This cafe improved Gensan's social atmospehere, once a sleepy and laid back town. I've been returning to Gensan at least twice a year since 2007 and never miss a visit. Try their choco fudge cake served with warm cream...heavenly delicious! I usually go to their Robinson's branch, the staff are friendly and attentive, and fast wifi too. Another branch is along South Osmena. Several cafes are sprouting around the city these days, including * box, but nothing beats Blue Gre's choco fudge. I will be there again this March.

The Bigby’s Café Concept was first introduced in the city of Cagayan de Oro on December 8, 1998. Its creators came up with an idea of creating an atmosphere fit for an adventure into the different cuisines of the world. The menu, the interior design and service style were created to position the concept midway between fine dining and fast-casual dining. This format has developed into the Bigby’s Café and Restaurant System. It has become an institution as a destination for good food and excellent service.
I brought friends to dine at Bigbys, and what is noticeable is the taste and the big servings. However, they have already transferred to a new location. Veranza Mall also in General Santos City.

Its high-quality, thick burgers are definitely among the very best hamburgers in General Santos City. And one of their burgers is enough for a meal in itself. Also very good are its big 8 inch long chicken "starving sailor" sandwiches (the beef ones are not as good as the chicken ones, though). Out of this restaurant's other offerings besides these my wife and I liked its chicken quesadillas best. This is made out of tortillas (Mexican flat bread) folded over with chicken inside. Our order of this item came as 4 pizza-shaped pieces. Its burgers are 165 pesos, its chicken sailor sandwiches are 215 pesos and its chicken quesadillas are 165 pesos.
My wife and I have also tried its even bigger "bully boy" burger, which has 3 hamburger patties. But I thought its sauce not-so-good. We haven't tried one of its "double burgers."
If you have particular fondness for Mexican food, this would be a restaurant to go to. Burritos, tacos, tortilla soup and querida mia (a kind of quesadilla) are all on its menu.
Frankly, my wife and myself thought most of its dishes unexceptional. I found its french fries (called "freedom fries here) something particularly good to pass by. If you would like chicken, I recommend getting it at KFC in the neighboring KCC mall, not its "fearless fried chicken" at Army Navy. which we found mediocre.
The fact that I gave this restaurant 3 stars does not reflect on the fact Army Navy has great burgers, but on the general more average quality of most of its dishes.
From the inside of this restaurant, you can enjoy a good view of one of the two Veranza mall's waterfalls--or you can sit on the patio outside for a closer view of the waterfall and watch the people passing by if you would like. This restaurant is in a prominent location of the Veranza mall, at the corner of two main corridors.

Mint Cafe is one of the restos inside Greenleaf Hotel. Now for a wonderful hotel, you would expect nothing less or at least at the same level of their cuisine. Sadly this isn't the case for Mint Cafe.
We stayed for 4 days and their buffet never changed menus. There was even difficulty in finding a seat. Kind of awkward that we were standing at the middle of the room without anyone bothering to help us find a place to sit. You would really have to call their attention to serve you.
Food is just average. Nothing that is worth mentioning that would stand out at the buffet.
As for the service, also average since as I have said, the lady in front who took our room number just asked us to enter never bothered to check if there was an available table or not.
