This time of the year, there was not a lot happening in Galax, and this restaurant is fairly large. We were one of two couples in the place and the other couple were local people. My wife and I both had the smoked chicken rich was excellent. However, the item I want to share with you is the smoked mashed potatoes. I don't think I can ever eat mashed potatoes again, because these were so good. They told us that they smoke the potatoes for four hours and then peal them. They wouldn't share the "secret" ingredients with us. Unbelievably good!!

TCBY of Galax has delicious yogurt, a huge variety of flavors, and is located adjacent to the Pizza Inn. So, a family may have their pizza meal, and enjoy dessert next door.

Who said there was a DD in Galax and why haven't I seen it??? I love DD... but there sadly is not one here. HOWEVER, should someone decide to build it, I'd say people will come. Put it close to Felts Park for the Fiddlers convention and you'll make a killing in a week!!!! :)

Yes, they are now located in two different location in town. The original place which no longer has the full menu (great hamburgers) only caters towards their brick oven. The newest location at the golf course (Bogey's) serves the full menu. Great hamburgers. Prices are a little on the high side. Service was good. Both places are well kept and clean.

Small local restaurant that makes fresh made pasta, sauces, & salad dressings. Daily specials and vegetarian options available as well!
We were visiting the area and the hotel attendant recommended this restaurant.
Let me just say this was an amazing meal. The restaurant is very cute, nothing super fancy. We ordered the fried ravioli for an appetizer and it was heaven. I can not say enough about how delicious it was. The restaurant makes their pasta and it is perfect. I had the special of the day: filet mignon over pasta with a gorganzola cream sauce. It was truly wonderful. My husband had shrimp ravioli and raved about it.
This is one of those amazing hidden gems. Go eat here, you will not regret it.

I love thick crust pizza, tossed not pan style, and that's what RJ served. The pizza was very good - the small would be plenty for two. I chose the Veggie and it was just right for leftovers.
Service was surprisingly fast given how full they were, and very pleasant. Parking was easy. I would come again.

Stopped here on Labor Day when lots of Galax restaurants were closed for the day. Happy to discover this local chain. Decor was interesting and eclective. I had the cashew chicken salad--huge serving, great taste, reasonable price. My wife had the fish tacos; also very well done. I'll definitely revisit this Macado's and the others in the area the next time I'm down that way.

Stopped in on the suggetion of a local for lunch. Had fried chicken, mac and cheese, pickles beets and pintos with cornbread. Pintos had great flavor but were over salted. Cornbread balanced it well. Fried chicken was boneless and tasty, slightly over cooked but seasoned perfectly. Kids had hamburgers that were hand made and a cooked to perfection. Would stop again but not a special trip.

Here is a country restaurant where you can have all three meals and not be disappointed in either. All of the food here is great. I love their breakfast. I eat here when I'm in the area and have been since 1995.

The food is great and you get huge portions. My frozen margarita was melted when it got to the table but they brought another at no charge.
