Excellent. Authentic restaurant with great service and fresh fish, delivered daily by fishermen themselves. Straight from the catch on your plate. Gina was our waiter and she spoke fluent Spanish and English. The whole team made us feel welcome and part of a bigger whole, which is very nice when traveling.
Prices are very reasonable. The food is simple and of high quality. No fancy stuff. The wine selection was incredible. We dined here two nights in a row. Highly recommended.

Very good fish, with a nice view of Ria de Aveiro. We ate fish soup, grilled swordfish and mixed fish skewer.

De vez em vez encontra-se num sitio fora da rota normal um reataurante com Bom bom preco atendendo que o peixe e fresco, e serviço rápido. E o caso, e nao será por acaso que também consta no livro boa cama e boa mesa do expresso.
Sometimes we have the combination of several small things that result on a great lunch or dinner. Yesterday I had one of these experiences at Fidalo in Aveiro region. The day was beautiful with a late summer temperature. The outside tables are very comfortable and...MoreThanks for your review! We were very pleased that you enjoyed the experience in our restaurant. I found this lounge bar quite by chance and had a great surprise. I stopped here for a late morning snack and had white wine from the region and some fried calamares which were great.
Since it is located right on the beach the view is also superb

Driving up and down Ilhavo this week-end, and really feeling like fish, I came on to Trip Advisor to see where to eat. This place came up in the top 10, and being right next to this place, decided that I would take the chance on fish at this place.
This is what it is:
POSITIVE POINTS:
The place was full of locals… which is always a good sign. We sat at the table, and were immediately waited on by the very pleasant staff.
Went through the menu, and upon recommendation of our waiter, we had the “Caldeirada de Peixe”… mixed fish “stew” type meal. A bottle of wine for myself and the wife, and an Ice Tea for the daughter.
Looking around, I cannot fault this place in terms of cleanness, since it was spotless… despite the people traffic going through this restaurant. I would say that the décor is basic, yet this is not trying to be one of those posh restaurants… and does the job perfectly.
The food arrived within a decent span of time, and the ordeal started perfectly, with a taste that really hit the spot. The fish tasted fresh, cooked just right with the texture amazingly perfect which was a delight to eat.
The setting was great, but the most important thing in a restaurant is the food… and that definitely hit the spot perfectly.
The Deserts are a delight, and we asked for the home-made options, that came to the table and were ingested with enormous pleasure, since it tasted really “home-made”.
A nice expresso to round off the experience, and I was truly satisfied.
NEGATIVE POINTS:
These negative points are hard to find, since this is not a fine dining place, but impresses with the quality of the meal that I had. I must say, however, that the prices are steep for Portugal… although not ludicrous. For what we had (above), we paid about EURO. 70,00… once again, rather steep, in my opinion.
SUMMING UP:
In my various reviews, I have said many times that I do not mind paying good money for good food, and this place certainly does not disappoint in terms of quality of the meal we had. So, simple answer to your question is: YES… I will definitely return if I am in the area.

Located in Vagos, this restaurant offers a modern, comfortable and welcoming environment. The menu is diverse, but grilled courses are predominant also including some game meats. Meals should be enjoyed with moderation because the dessert list is extensive and irresistible.
Great range of exquisite meats such as deer, horse, aligator and such. Tipical portuguese cuisine also availiable always with a modern touch!

Located near the beach, this is a surprising place: delicious dishes, great appetizers (raw salmon is spectacular) and beautiful Deserts. Enjoy all this with a huge collection of gins prepared at the table. Closes late (currently, at 4am). A top place in all Aveiro district!

Authentic portuguese seafood restaurant that is extremely popular — particularly at weekends — judging by the numbers dining there the day I ate there. Family-run business that takes pride in what it serves up to its customers.
