My husband found this restaurant for us, and we made the 45-minute drive over from Illinois to try it, based on the rave reviews. We were not disappointed! Everything that we tried was delicious, from the Japanese dumplings, to the caprese flatbread, perfectly cooked and seasoned steak and shrimp entrees, and finally, yummy dessert. Everything is fresh, homemade, and has great flavor. The menu is small, but there are nightly specials which rotate depending upon what is in season. (There is also a fairly standard kids' menu, which you can also choose to up- or down-size, which is nice.) You can get small plates as starters or add a side and salad to make them a meal. Even the side dishes are fresh and inventive. The creamy sesame house dressing was delicious, too! It is a small, unassuming storefront restaurant, eclectic but not fancy in terms of decor. The food was expensive enough that we couldn't come every week, but I would like to! An absolutely delicious experience, which I highly recommend!

On my way to work I had a hankerin for a tenderloin so I had stopped in at Hall's Ice Cream as it looked like a place that may also serve tenderloin's. Unfortunately they do not serve anything fried. However they do serve hot dogs, Coney Dogs, BBQ pork maidrites and pizzaburgers. So I had chosen a Coney dog since it had been ages that I had one.
What a wonderful choice. Their Coney Dogs are DELISH! It was also a reasonable price too. They have footong dogs if you are extra hungry. I definately recommend them. Fast food is getting so expensive anymore. Hall's has reasonable prices. I just may become a regular customer now, and you should too. Two Thumps Up!

The burgers are that good. There's even a big one for $10. My friend got catfish and was pleased. Gets really crowded at lunch.

We stayed at the inn connected to this restaurant. The restaurant specializes in steaks. We had the ribeyes which were excellent although my husband ordered medium rare and had to send it back for a little extra cooking. Waitress was very pleasant and helpful. This restaurant is right downtown and has a great view of the Mississippi River and of the trains that rumble through town. All added to the great experience we had.

We have been looking for a good Chinese restaurant and finally found it. Looks a little rough on the outside. Clean! The service was fast and courteous. Definitely the best Chinese food in this area. My boyfriend would have liked it spicier. Overall we were both beyond satisfied and found the restaurant we have been looking for. We are looking forward to many return trips!

The Receptionist at the Boulder Inn and Suites recommended this restaurant. Outside is a large, basic carpark and everything seems a little drab. Remember, this is snow country and winter had just finished when we visited. Open the door and you are greeted with a huge restaurant with a bar in the middle. The food was tasty, the service was with a smile, the cost was reasonable. What more could you want? Oh yes, a local beer was very palatable.

Went for business on a lunch break and the menu is huge. Plenty of options for anyone. At the table there were skillets, sandwiches clubs, soups, and salads ordered. Reasonably priced and all around great food. I had the corned beef skillet which was a heap of hash browns, peppers, onions, corned beef hash, eggs, and cheese sauce. The waitress did warn me it was cheese sauce but it mixed in well. I enjoyed it and would definitely go back. The desserts looked awesome we were all too full to get any for lunch.

Brew pub
We were on a road trip back from a stop in Nauvoo, Illinois and decided to check out the Fort Madison riverfront. It is there that we stumbled onto the Lost Duck Brewery. What a pleasant surprise! Great craft beers, excellent sandwich options including Elk and Bison. Friendly staff and great decor with a perfect view of the Mississippi River. Highly recommend!

Family friendly, great bar food, full service bar, always accommodating. Try to go on Thursday Taco Nights for the bests tacos in Fort Madison. When we lived in Fort Madison this was our Friday night go to spot for a good burger and a couple drinks. Now that we live out of the area we always make it a point to stop in one night when we're back, usually with a group of old friends - they're very accommodating.
