nice informal vibe and a good place to relax and unwind. easy menu - lots of pizza and bruschetta. The pickled veg salad was very good, and the cured lamb - delicious. Casual and friendly service, and they make their own chocolate. Good find. Reasonably priced.

Small Ethiopian restaurant run by the Icelandic owner and his Ethiopian wife. Great food, vegetarian friendly, and reasonably priced by Icelandic standards. The decor is outstanding, and worth spending a few minutes walking around to admire the artifacts. We were a group of 6 people so we had to wait a bit, since it is a small place, but well worth it.

A 5 bedroom guesthouse with shared facilities and a restaurant.
Food was good and fresh, fish & chips, penne pasta & chicken nuggets were the order of the day, fine and quick service in a decent setting.

The café is only open during the summer June - August. Bragginn is a summer Cafe and Ceramic Studio housed in the families old potato storage, an dug down ex army-barrack. The menu is based on the Slow Food concept, using mostly locally grown and sourced ingredients from neighboring farmers as the area is a vibrant production area of fresh and delicious food. The courses are a mixture between Icelandic traditions and the owners favorites ranging from Icelandic pancakes, cakes, raw cakes, home baked bread and Brunch during the weekends. Our coffee comes from the small but talented roasters, Reykjavik Roasters and we only serve pour over coffee. The Ceramic Studio is open for visitors, where it is possible to watch the products being made, have a chat with the designer and purchase the wares straight of the production line. We are in 10 minuets driving-distance from Fludir in south of Iceland, in peace and quiet with a beautiful view towards both Hekla and Eyjafjallajokull.
Best coffee we tasted in Iceland (free refills) and fantastic cakes (chocolate cake very rich).
Small cafe run by a family.
It was a little oasis of fine and very friendly service, great food and a small pottery attached.
A short distance off the main road - definitely worth the detour.
Just ten minutes from Fludir.

We booked a Golden Circle tour that stopped here for lunch on recommendation of friends, who told us they had stumbled upon it on their trip to Iceland, and loved it. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable and told us about the history of the farm and the family who run it. Sitting in amongst the tomato plants, under a bright blue sky eating delicious tomato soup and home made bread was a great experience. The atmosphere was great. When we finished we went outside to see their horses which was also nice. All in all we really enjoyed our lunch here and would recommend, it's a quirky place to go and the soup is great!!

Hand made bread and pastry, freshly baked every morning. Traditional Icelandic lunch and soup every week day and light menu from 12:00 am - 9:00 pm.
After visiting the Secret Lagoon, saw a sign for this little cafe bakery. The weather was pretty bad and we need warming up.
Absolutely fabulous little place,
We had cauliflower soup, fresh bread and butter, tasty, warm and filling, as much as you wanted too. The lady who served us gave us directions and was really helpful. Loved the retro style of this place! Perfect.

Farmers Bistro is located in the beautiful surroundings of Flúðir which has been a popular destination for domestic and foreign tourists as there is always great weather here. The municipal area is home to 800 people, smack dab in the middle of the Golden Circle Farmers Bistro was founded by Georg and Emma in order to offer food from the region. Georg operates two firms; Flúðasveppir, the only mushroom farm in Iceland and one of the largest horticulture farm called Flúða-Jörfi. Flúðasveppir produces both white and chestnut mushrooms, and at Flúða-Jörfi, we grow bell-peppers and tomatoes in greenhouses. At Georg’s farm, Hvítárholt, Flúða-Jörfi also cultivates cauliflowers, broccoli, cabbage, red cabbage, kale and carrots outdoors. We also grow the fresh herbs used at Farmers Bistro. We all know what mushrooms are, but not everyone knows how they grow. Our hallmark is to introduce and promote our bell-pepper and mushroom cultivation.
This is a nice little farm restaurant that specializes in mushrooms. The menu isn’t large, but the people are incredibly friendly and the mushroom soup is amazing. Believe the hype! It came with bread and a wide variety of butters and other toppings, all we could eat. They also have s nice selection of drinks with free coffee or tea included with the lunch. It was expensive for bread and soup but no more than everything else in Iceland. Definitely worth checking out if you are in the area, especially on the way to Gullfoss.
