Unfortunately we arrive late for our reservation but the hostess was most accommodating and we had a table in a few minutes. Delicious salads and a very good steak with Marsala mushroom sauce. Disappointing pasta with pesto. Yummy dessert of tiny cream puffs with ice cream. Excellent service and very reasonable corkage of $10.

This is a wonderful bakery in the small village of Ferndale. Their caramel pecan rolls are one of my favorites and more than one should eat in a sitting. They also offer beautiful cinnamon rolls, cakes, cupcakes, lemon bars and other delicious and beautiful treats. This is a bakery where items as beautiful and taste wonderful as well. They have limited hours and appreciate cash sales.

We’re Eel River Brewing Company and we’ve blazed a trail in the craft brew industry over the past twenty years. Continuing our unfailing commitment to quality, taste and consistency is our diverse offerings of excellent craft beer. Much like the tenacious people who brew it, our beer is award-winning. Edgy. Different. Daring. Spirited. And you’re going to love it.
Was a hard place to find, no signage to get there. Our server was Sadie. She was great, took the time to explain our questions about the menu. She very attentive to our table and had good suggestion for eats. We had the calamari strips with both the cocktail sauce and the marinara sauce. Did not know until we back to motel, but was charged for both sauces. Thought they came with the calamari. Service was great and the food was excellent. We will go there again for lunch.

Ridge Top Cafe is right off Hwy 101 on the way to Ferndale. The restaurant is adorable; vintage old photos, country decor, wood floors with an old fashioned eating bar. The service is friendly and fairly quick, depending on how busy they are. They offer a delicious selection of breakfast and lunch choices that are available all day. Also there is a coffee bar that makes speciality drinks and delicious pastries, cookies and muffins.
I have been there a total of three times and haven't been disappointed...it's definitely worth the stop.

We were pleasantly surprised by the food quality, service, and ambiance. There were ample choices for meat lovers, fish lovers, and vegetarians, and the quality of preparation was well above what one would expect outside of a large city. And the rapport between quality and price can not be faulted.

Late in the lunch time we appeared. The owner was most accommodating and pretty much insisted we get exactly what we wanted. Try the hotdog - we did! Well done with great fries. Although we didn't get any, the pies looked outstanding, with a homemade appearance.

We stopped in Ferndale to visit the Victorian architecture which was absolutely incredible with all of the beautiful store fronts. This store happened to be a discovery and we all enjoyed indulging our sweet tooth. We had French raspberry truffles, chocolate mousse truffles, chocolate covered Oreos, and a chocolate covered cherry. Everyone enjoyed their treats!

The owner cooks and came out from the kitchen to personally explain the dessert choices, then sat at another table to chat with regulars. This is the kind of tiny local spot where folks feel free to chime in on your dinner conversation, and yes, they are eavesdropping....
Homemade bread served with a fantastic dipping oil with roasted tomatoes and fresh herbs. My soup and pasta were fine - obviously made with very fresh produce. My husband's salad was a skip, but his polenta with puttenesca was insanely good! Desserts are simple (apple cobbler and gingerbread) but just like grandma made - worth saving room to indulge!

Checked TripAdvisor and found this restaurant in Fortuna while spending the night nearby. Steak sounded good but when we got there they had so much more. In fact, we had so much food, we took much of it back to the hotel and had dinner...MoreThank you very much! So happy you enjoyed your dining experience at Double Ds! I will definately share this with Val as well! ?
