We visited at this restaurant at the recommendation from tripadvisor. I would not go back. The service was terrible, it was almost like they resented us being there. The food was mediocre. It is very over priced for the quality you get. I don't understand all the positive reviews unless perhaps they are old reviews and since that time the place has gone down hill? I would not go back.

I went there again yesterday. We each had seafood chowder, which comes with grilled baguette. The chowder was perfect: creamy-sweet, full of seafood and potatoes. For dessert we each had bread pudding, which is served warm with caramel sauce and ice cream. Delicious.
We lucked out and got a window seat, so were able to see the water outside. This is a casual place with extremely good food. Quite a treat!

I had heard many good things about this establishment, so iI was very surprised with the abrupt rudeness of the middle aged Hostess...no welcoming smile, no chit chat, just rushing us to remove our coats etc...the food was good..but, believe me, after that reception never again.

We are a family-friendly Scottish-Canadian pub along the banks of the Grand River in Fergus. Located in an historic building with the best patio in town, we pride ourselves in our quality of food and service. Our motto is "There's always something happening at the Brew House". Mondays we have Trivia, Tuesdays are Wing Nights, Thursdays offer contemporary music, Fridays we have the best Fish 'n' Chips deal around and Saturdays in the summer we have Celtic music on the patio. Come join the fun!
A group of 11 of us went here for lunch, having made a reservation in advance given the size of the group. But when we got there, they had no record of the reservation. They were, however, able to accommodate us which was good. We parked in the back and to get into the restaurant, had to walk through a corridor and past the kitchen on one side and the washrooms on the other. The kitchen did not look clean at all, there were very large piles of dirty plates in full view. I understand that a restaurant goes through a lot of plates, but really, customers should not have to see this. The corridor and the women's washroom were quite dirty and only one of the two toilets was functioning, with the other in a state that customer should not have to see either and the surface of the table was sticky. The service was slower than one would expect, even taking into account that we were a large group. I never did get dressing for my salad and desserts took so long that we cancelled them. My food (chicken pot pie) was good and hot, and I did not hear anyone in the group complain about the food. However, the cleanliness factor was such that I would not go back there and would not recommend it.

A MUST VISITS BAKERY! Hands down! Well worth a visit to this awesome bakery, the clerk was very very friendly and professional, offered us a few samples, we have not been here before and let us know what the bakery bakes/cooks.
We only bought an amazing and scrumptious Pecan Butter Tart and a few Empire Cookies on sale but are sure it's only a small example of what's in store there :)
BTW, the samples were actually full sized cookies!!
Prices were very decent and the lady was most pleasant and patient....
They also have alot of lunch items such as Freshly made, fabulous meals to take home: I had to add all this in because the presentations were stunning and the reception was amazing!!!

The Fountainhead Health Store is open Monday-Friday 9-6, Saturday 9-5. The Red Door is open Monday-Saturday 11-3 for lunch, serving drinks and dessert throughout the store hours.
Owner Natalie made a smart choice to remodel, placing this awesome lunchtime restaurant in the back of her main health supplements store. Now called the Red Door, it conveniently has its own entrance off the alley. Always fresh, healthy & delicious meals. Not many restaurants in Fergus. This one is much appreciated.

This was our first visit to this restaurant and we were impressed. The sushi was freshly prepared and nicely presented. The service was a little slow but our server was new to the job and was not able to answer some of our questions about the menu. There was not a lot of atmosphere. We will definitely return.

There are so many loose leaf tea varieties to pick from. Definitely something for everyone.
But this is not just a tea shop. You can also enjoy lunch here. The menu offers soup, salad, entree and Deserts changing daily. There is also a nice selection of baked goods, some of which are gluten free.
It is very clean and comfortable. Staff are friendly and welcoming.

If you are someone who has to have great decor in order to enjoy the food you will be disappointed. The booths are 1950s' style formica. The place is clean as a whistle and the food was really good. My younger daughter (31 years old) is a vegetarian and she was really pleased with the tofu and mixed veggies dish. My son and I polished off an order of General Tao's chicken and my wife enjoyed the almond chicken soo guy. Really enjoyable and the four of us ate for about $50, tip in.
