This place use to be fun to go into when they had friendly waitresses like Heather, but she doesn't work there anymore! The other waitresses are just there for a job I guess, this place is just ok now.

Small, family owned restaurant but by far the friendliest & most affordable one. Had breakfast there two days during our fishing trip. If you end up waiting, it's for a brief time. The food is freshly prepared and there's plenty of it. The staff was so very pleasant and even though they were super busy our waitress spend a few moments of pleasant conversation with us "strangers". It is definitely worth checking out. You won't be disappointed.

Join us for an excellent meal prepared by Chef Josh. With over 20 years of culinary experience and a deep passion for food. The Silent Woman is also an excellent place to host both large and small groups. We have a large banquet hall that can host weddings, reunions, large parties or meetings. We also have smaller rooms that can be reserved for smaller events. Please call for more information and we hope to see you soon!
What a great place! My wife and I stopped by on our way to Madison and are so happy we did. What a cool building and great bar. Kenny and Mike the owners were awesome and the food was delicious. I had the local sautéed veggies which were delicious and topped those off with the best braised pork shoulder I have ever had. Place has a great retro vibe and the adjoining hotel keeps the vibe going. We will be back!

The Canterbury Garden Cafe in Fennimore, WI, is a great place for lunch Tuesday through Saturday. It is in a Victorian home, and the ambience is wonderfully unique. Also, the food is tasty, and the service is excellent.
My husband and I go often and enjoy taking family or meeting friends there.

I must say that if liver is your thing then you have to try theirs. The liver was covered in bacon then smothered with onions. My wife and I have eaten there several time and the food has always been good. But this time the Liver was one of the specials and I love liver. It was great. My wife had the 3 piece fish special. The mashed potatoes are real homemade with pieces of the potato skins in them. While we were there someone was refreshing the lettuce in the salad bar. It must not of look just right to him so he called over another member of the staff. He removed the whole bowl of lettuce and replaced it with a fresh one. It is good to see quality control going on.

This bakery does not have a lot of selection, so don't go there expecting dozens of pastery choices. It has a limited, high quality focus. What it does make, it knocks completely out of the park. Mostly it focuses on breads (a variety here), scones, cookies, and it's specialty--pecan roles. Because the goods are made daily with real everything, the flavors and textures are way amazing. The owner/baker is a young woman who is intense about what she's doing, a kind of religious conviction for baking. The bakery has been around a few years. It's had a real struggle because small towns are often not used to this kind of food quality with premium prices. Why pay $1.95 for one pecan role when you can get a package of six factory made roles at the local grocery for about the same price? So, if you're passing through (or if you live there), stop and buy a real baking experience, and support a real baker. The coffee is great, too.

It has a lot of sandwich choices with just the ingredients one wants, and the price is reasonable. Parking is convenient and the location is just off the main highways of 18 and 61.

There was nothing fast about going to this fast food restaurant. It took as long to get our order as it would have in most regular restaurants The odor is terrible the minute you walk in the door. Smells of old old grease. While we were there a great big spider went walking across the floor by our table. I would think most food service places would have regular pest control, but they must not. A real turn off and we will not be going back. Even our son said after we got home. "Thinking about my milk (he said it was "gwose") makes me want to puke". I checked the date on the carton and it was not expired. I had never heard of the brand of milk it was before.
