Farnham is a town in Surrey, England, within the Borough of Waverley. The town is 34.5 miles (55.5 km) southwest of London in the extreme west of Surrey, adjacent to the border with Hampshire. Your first time here you might find us a little difficult to find as the pub is down an un-adopted lane in the bottom of a valley, backing on to the Bourne stream. "The Bat" is a traditional country/village pub retaining the charm and atmosphere of what a pub should be. An open fire, panelled walls, nooks and crannies, hops hanging from the old oak beams, cricketing memorabilia and six shining brass hand pumps for ale. Outside there is a covered patio area with grape vines overhead and a large garden with flower borders, a children’s play structure and plenty of Seating. There is also a large car park.We offer a good and wholesome selection of light snacks, main meals and a mouth watering selection of homemade puddings and desserts. All our food is cooked and prepared in house by our team.Crossing the generations ,the pub is a meeting place for all and you will be sure of a genuine welcome

It was a little while since I had popped in for lunch and once again the food was faultless. I started with a spicy soup and finished with a green curry and coconut rice. The food was exceptionally good, the portions generous and the service friendly and efficient. The decor is very upmarket. All in all about as good as it gets!
Would I go again? Most definitely.

My husband and I visited this much loved restaurant last night for valentines and although overall we had a lovely evening we were disappointed by my food. I'm allergic to gluten and ordered a gluten free pasta dish which when it arrived had nearly entirely disintegrated. I understand that gluten free pasta can be tricky to cook, however, we have eaten at this restaurant many times in the past and have never been disappointed so it was a real shame. My husband's food was excellent and the staff, as always, professional and welcoming.

The Spotted Cow at Lower Bourne is a child and dog friendly country inn, hidden in a four acre wooded garden on the edge of Farnham, Surrey. We serve good, home made pub food, real ales & great wines in a tranquil & secluded setting.
We had family visiting who wanted to bring their well behaved dog. It was nice the venue could accommodate this. Service was prompt and helpful; the staff were very accommodating and on top of things at a busy time. Food was, to my taste, fairly typical ‘pub lunch’ style but with some extra, interesting options. Not the cheapest menu, though, which might reflect the location where there’s perhaps less competition. We’ve been back since and thought the roast was well presented, although have probably also had tastier, or at least more highly seasoned, roast dinners. The grilled/pan-fried salmon fillet was very nice and, although, without warning, the potatoes arrived done another way than the menu description, I would order it again. It can get very busy on a Sunday, so recommend booking ahead.

It had been quite a few years since our last visit to the Donkey. Was looking for a place to take my mum for her birthday & rang them to enquire about gluten free dishes. The guy was so helpful on the phone so I reserved a table. We chose to eat early- they start serving at 6 on a Monday. Throughout the evening the staff were so nice and friendly and this really made the difference. Nothing seemed too much trouble. They remembered my mum was a coeliac and brought her gf rolls & lovely granary bread for the rest of us. Monday is steak night with a choice of cuts, plus the regular menu & a specials board. All the food was high quality & served attractively. My brother definitely recommends the lamb! The garlic ‘donkey fries’ are so good! Great portion sizes. The dessert menu is wide and varied. We felt so bad because they had ordered a gf dessert especially for my mum but after her big meal she couldn’t manage it but they were great about it & sung Happy Birthday with a candle in her ice cream. All in all it was a great evening and the lasting feeling is how lovely all the staff were.

We are a family run Sicilian Restaurant situated on the outskirts of Farnham Town Centre, with plently of free parking. We have become increasingly popular with the local community especially with our fish specials ,We have a wide variety of different sicilian dishes to suit every palate. We pride ourselves on our daily fresh fish and meat dishes from all over the Sicilian regions . We hope to see you soon here at Daniele's!
We visited for the first time, for lunch - very impressed with the flavours and standard of the dishes - good value too and knocks spots of chain restaurants. Would definitely recommend and look forward to an evening visit. One small point, our experience is that when orders are not written down, they often arrive incorrectly, the side dish we ordered didn't appear, we pressed on rather than reorder. Glad we finally went to this restaurant and impressed by the authentic flavours.

Our inspiration for the food and design of Cote is a modern interpretation of the many famous bistros of Paris. Inspired by new trends, we are dedicated to serving authentic classic brasserie dishes with a modern twist, using high quality produce at great prices. On the menu, guests will always find brasserie favourites on our a la carte menu such as steak frites, moules marinieres, corn-fed chicken from rural Brittany and tuna Nicoise, for dessert, Cote's creme caramel and creme brulee are much-loved house specialities. Seasonality and Cote's commitment to sourcing high-quality ingredients results in a monthly changing specials menu, ensuring there is always something new to delight regular guests and gastronomes alike, as well as the excellent value set menu. Open early every day for breakfast, through to lunch and dinner; Cote's atmosphere is informal and friendly.
We have eaten at many Cote Brasseries and have always received excellent service from the well trained staff.
This was our first time at the Farnham branch. First impressions were good with an attractive venue and a warm welcome. Then everything went downhill. The restaurant was not very busy when we arrived, but we had to wait 15 minutes before the waiter, Samir (with the beard), took our order. We had asked a waitress, but she said Samir would look after us. How wrong she was.
Although the food was to the usual high standard, the poor service continued. People at other tables served by the waitress, came after us, had their lunch and had gone before we had our dessert. It took a total of 2 hours.
My advice is to avoid those tables served by Samir

The Queen’s Head is a welcoming traditional pub in the heart of Farnham. We not only offer first class real ales, fine wine and a modern twist to our food, but it has been said that we have the ‘best bar staff in town’. We have a relaxed atmosphere in the day, opening for coffee and breakfast from 10am and become more lively in the evenings, live music, quiz nights and Open mic. Home-made lunches are served 12-4pm and we have a special pie night on Mondays and steak night on Wednesday nights.
Popped in for lunch and was impressed by the extensive menu, including all day brunch. You can get small to large dishes and the menu gives you something different to choose from.
The pub has a friendly atmosphere, staff are very helpful and provide a quick and efficient service. Food was excellent and beautifully presented. A good find.

This pub is quite a haven in a not overly promising location. It has an attractive, traditional interior, a lovely, warm, welcoming fire and a friendly, warm welcome from landlord. What's more, it has some good beer (and probably some other cold, fizzy stuff as well) and excellent, home-cooked food. I had sea bass filets and, unlike what I've received in other UK establishments offering the same menu item, there was more than one filet! The vegetables were excellent, cooked as advertised, 'al dente', and helped make an excellent main course. The other three members of our group all had different meals and all were very complimentary. I regret that I didn't leave room for the fruit crumble and custard. Next time...
