Cool place in the center of Esbjerg. Mini burgers (asiatic flavor, sausage , vegan, etc). The waiter was a nice guy, very kind. We had the menu translated and very good suggestions for the beer (All day IPA and Lagunitas). Original sides with kale and pomegrenate.

Sands doesn’t look like much on the outside, but the moment you step inside you’ll feel the “old Danish atmosphere”.
And sure, from a younger generations perspective it might seem a bit outdated, but from my point og view - that’s what makes it charming
Our host was smiling, welcoming and utmost professionel; we had no Reservations, but she still managed to make us feel like we had and let us choose from several tables.
Breadbasket and drinks came within a blink of an eye and both appetizer and maincourse followed this.
Personally I liked my appetizer better than my maincourse, but I usually prefer danish dining in general and when you experience such an amount on (almost) daily basis - it’s hard to be no. 1 every time
Overall a great experience and yet again a place with standard prices in Denmark.
We were FULL and pleased; our check sounded 600 dkkr. (app. 80€) and we had:
2 appetizers
2 maincourses
2 drinks
Short: you get what you pay for - would definitely return

We have visited this ancient and unique country inn several times over 3 decades.
Let's start with the fact that it was in existence 50 years before the American Revolution and has been in business ever since.
Inside or out it is charming but we prefer the cozy rooms inside.
A limited lunch menu is offered and we tried three different choices; omelet, salmon salad and smoked filet of flounder. All were good and so were the local beers.
Service was slow due to them being busy and understaffed. Once we got their attention service was pleasant enough.
Lunch was not as good as dinners we have enjoyed in the past.
It is a must on any visit to this quaint and historic town on an island that has otherwise been turned into an overbuilt tourist destination.

This restaurant is a bit French inspiwred but you can have the local sea food as well. Everything is well prepared but this restaurant is a bit expensive but so are all other restaurants in Sonderho.
Do go since the food is great and the atmosphere is cosy

We went to this restaurant for our first and last meals in Nordby. It has both inside and outside dining, excellent service, and amazing food.

Try to visit here each year when i am in Esbjerg, this year was no exception and the quality still brilliant. Good menue with some great fresh fish dishes. I had my usual Stjerneskud, which is fried white fish with prawns, caviar, smoked salmon and is so tasty.
Will be back again next year

The Retaurant Ambassaden ("The Embassy") is situated in the centre of the town of Nordby on Fanoe. The layout of the restaurant is very fine with good spacing between the tables. Service was very friendly and efficient with very good recommendations on the menu and wine list.
The menu is rather limited in size due to the philisophy that everything is made from fresh local supplies and that the chef personally can vouch for it.
Much to our (pleasant) surprise the prices were cheaper than expected for that quality of food, wine and service received.
The Restaurant Ambasseden is highly recommended.

It is some time since we visited this delightful island by short ferry from Esbjerg. This new ,for us, Restaurant looked interesting from trip advisor's web site. We had a drive to Sonderho a nice old village at the south of the island. It was a little damp and many of the usual tourists had left. A familiar walk around Norby the main town on Fano left us read for our pre booked lunch. Avery friendly lady host who spoke good English welcomed us to this neat and cosy restaurant. the short menue was traditional and she showed great surprise when I ordered 2 dishes as she explained to my wife and daughter that the portions were large and no person in her four years had ordered or eaten two of their plates! I did and enjoyed them both greatly as they were good well prepared items and served with care and attention.I shall look forward to an evening visit where there is more choice .
