The Sea is the foundation of our cuisine, the sea and the gastronomic know an island of fishermen. Our menu is a reflection of Formentera and a commitment to the fishing island. A commitment we made with passion and great respect to offer a real taste of the sea , Formentera flavor..
Really romantic setting, excellent fish and seafood, the staff are very attentive and know their stuff, you can see how expertly they fillet the fish at the table, good prices for excellent quality food. We went 3 times in the week as it simply offered the best food, service and prices, would recommend the paella and the baked alaska.

I just got my wallet back from a terrible robbery, lost all my cash but luckily they left my ID and bank cards. Then I spend the entire second day of dealing with my bank to convince them Unblock my card so I can get money. After all the bad experience I had in Ibiza I finally got a chance to enjoy my trip. We chose this restaurant by the rate of tripadvisor, with great expectation, however it made me sorry in the end. We ordered fisher style paella, the waitor understood me fine when took my order, but after the paella served he suddenly doesn't. The food was very salty, I have to complain twice before he took it back to the kitchen! In the first time, he first acted like he didn't understand me then say this was how they cook. I thought it was suppose to be this salty,So I gave another try. It was still unbearable. After I insisted him to taste the food he finally took it back. And came back with the same pot asking me wether I need something else without explain or apology!
Ithink it was already bad enough that the chef didn't taste the food bring out of their kitchen, but the service was even worse! the waitor acted like I don't understand their food so ignore my complain!
10 minutes later another waitor came and apologized for the salty food they made, and ask wether I need anything else .But it was too late ! I only asked for more water for the salty food but they brought the water without even help opening the bottle ! Let alone pour it for us! This was just not the way to treat customers ! Especially when you made such a terrible dish and try to fix it ! They marked on the menu the price is include 10% service fee, it was just not worth the money!
I felt so bad! Although the meal was on the house in the end, but the whole experience made me very unhappy! I felt weren't being respected because they think asian doesn't understand weatern food!that was very offensive! The dinner was meant for cheer me up from the robbery but it turned out to be another disastor!I still have 5 days left of this trip but this made me want to leave as soon as possible! terrible!

Chezz Gerdi is one of the best spots Formentera has to offer. It has its feet on the shore of Es Pujols Beach but is retreated from the village. You can access it from the main seafront Promenade using a wooden path along the beach or even come by boat and use their tender service. The place is a gorgeous chameleon. During the day you can come for lunch or a refreshment and soak up the sun and the beautiful view. Try their wood oven pizzas, among the best of the island. At sunset, people come for aperitivo, that very Italian tradition of cocktails and nibbles. Order some mixed fried fish served in a box and definitely some bellinis: they are to die for. The setting is outstanding. The waves breaking on the shore, the light dimming slowly as music plays. Come darkness, candles start shining on the tables and the place reaches its beauty peak as guests start ordering dinner. Among the most romantic places I've ever been. The interiors are carefully curated with rustic and colourful rugs contrasting with the natural textures of the walls, floors and the sand. It all melts beautifully into the seascape and the atmosphere soothes you completely. Kathryn and I spent ten days on the island and the evening spent at Chezz Gerdi was propably one of the best. Claudio Passiatore manages the place with skill and grace. Formerly Chezz Gerdi's head chef, the talented Pugliese now oversees the whole project and has chosen to play the quality card, making sure every ingredient honours the dish. The service is fabulous, too. He took time to walk us through every course and tell us about Formentera, Chezz Gerdi and food in general. When passion and talent meet, the result is extraordinary. We could have listened to him for days on end. Chezz Gerdi's cuisine has clear Italian and Spanish roots but incorporates foreign influences artfully in the best spirit of fusion cuisine. The beef comes from Nebraska while some of the fish and crustaceans come from very the island.
The restaurant serves good food but is relatively expensive and they have packed in many tables. The best food are the simple fresh dishes - great local fish perfectly prepared.
It is clearly a popular place with lots of drinkers in the bar and filing up early with evening diners. The decor is really good and captures the Formentera style very well.
Always going to be worth a visit if you are staying a few days in Es Pujols but there are other restaurants that have similar views and equally good food but are a bit less packed out.

Unsurprisingly for an Argentinian restaurant, the finest steak I’ve eaten on Formentera. Set in an elevated position, if you get the right table (and be warned, they are quite close together) you can eat a wonderful meal and watch the town come alive below you. Great wine too!

Everything about this restaurant rates top quality for me.
The service especially from the cheery head waiter who explains the menu offerings.
The food, twice we had the fish of the day which comes on a sharing plate with veg. So fresh and very generous helpings.
Great lively atmosphere.
Lemoncello and meloncello bottles left on the table at the end of the meal is a nice touch.
Highly recommended.

Perfect little restaurant overlooking the sea. The food ,the wine & the staff were all excellent. I don't think you can book but we were lucky on both visits. The decor is very quirky but very romantic with loads of candles & atmosphere. The food is mainly fish & I really recommend the sea bass. Can't wait to visit again

We were just looking for somewhere the have a light lunch when we came across this beach side "taverna", it is almost the last in the line along the shore and oozes calm and sophistication. It's certainly not cheap (€16 for a burger and crisps) but as my wife said; one of the best burgers she's ever had. I went for the Paccheri, burrata & tomatoes (pasta, prawns, mozzarella & cherry tomatoes), cheese and prawns are not normally a marriage made in heaven but, this was excellent. Certainly enough for lunch and, considering the location, reasonably priced at €16. TIP - there were three burgers ordered at our table and they all came differently cooked; from blue to cooked so, if you are not comfortable with your burger "mooing", make sure you let them know! If it weren't for the accessibility (from Es Cana) we'd be back in a flash, the food and ambiance was that good.

We've been twice so far, both times food proved to be very good. Fresh product but cooked without pretentions, elaborate clean, simple dishes. I just love the Seabass (lubina) carpaccio, fresh oven cooked bites with small dices of asparragus, pasta was all good, the filet was tender and timely cooked. For desserts we followed oir waitress recommendations, chocolate cake (correct) and the cheesecake with local figs coulis (just incredible). Service was polite, our waitress, spanish (most are italian) was an enthusiast of the restaurant, the team, the chef. It was nice to see someone enjoying her work as she did. If we manage to reserve tonite, that will make our third visit, and a great closing dinner for our holidays

A groups of (female) women, whose accommodation was a few blocks away, we ate here for breakfast / brunch every day for almost a week. It's cheap, quick and FABULOUS food - and by food I mean Jamon in all it's different identities.....this isn't the place to come if you're vegetarian (unless you want to ditch being vegetarian). The men behind the counter (who made up the takeaway orders) were lovely and chatty (even if your Spanish was terrible), but the women who waited the tables out the front were just rude rude and more rude. Even my four Spanish travelling companions said the service was overtly rude and dismissive compared to other local service. BUT, as is often the case - you put up with the rude service because the food is so mouth-wateringly delicious and reasonably priced. When I go back to Formentera next year, this place will be high on my list to eat at.....but I may just get takeaway :)
