A place for locals to gather which is the highest recommendation in my book. Prices are very reasonable and the proprietress, Tona, is friendly and helpful. She knows the area history and is willing to share and talk about it. Morning hours are offered, and everyone is on a first name basis - the essence of small town America. The interior is a memorial to military service personnel from WWII through our current conflicts. The walls are covered with the photographs and memorabilia of those that have stepped up.

I considered ordering the chicken-fried steak but opted for the steak and shrimp, after my friends both ordered that.
The steak wasn't very tender and had a lot of gristle on the side. It was cooked fine; I asked for medium. The shrimp was OK, but nothing special.
I had mashed potatoes with light gravy, as opposed to dark gravy, which they also offer. It was very good.
The service was very friendly and our waitress came by often to refill water and ice tea glasses. And although they were busy, the food came out in good time.

My idea of a coffee house. The owner is a mature, courteous and intelligent conversationalist. The interior is small but comfortable. I despise Starbucks for their obscene prices and liberal agendas so I prefer to patronize private entrepreneurship business whenever possible. This place was not crowded with millennials on their devices and exuded an air of genteel comfort. There is a lot of faith based reading material present, but nothing that suggested proselytizing. Background music was low and mellow. All in all, an adult establishment.

Roe-Ann's has been serving generations of Emmett residents. It's the only survivor of the three drive-ins Emmett's Washington Avenue once boasted.
I started bicycling there when I was in fifth grade in the early 1970s, switched to a car when I bought my first one at age 15 and learned you could drive over the sidewalk that separates the two lines of parking spaces. They later installed poles to discourage that practice for my friends and me.
The Wimpy burger, with an added slice of Canadian bacon, is a classic. Do the Emmett thing and order tartar sauce for your fries and Tater Gems. And add a nonalcoholic scotch and soda. I was with a date who ordered that once and handed her the phone for ordering because I was sure they didn't serve anything like that. Turned out they did.
The downside is there haven't been any real improvements since the 1970s. It seems they still throw frozen burgers on the grill and haven't added fresher, healthier items to the menu. Still, it's an institution.

My wife and I went to Simply Baked for lunch recently and knew we found ourselves a winner. First, the baked good smells draw you into the shop and the tasty food brings you back! My wife had the Ben Franklin while I enjoyed the French Dip. Both sandwiches were delicious and on foot-long bread - great deals and very good. We like these sandwiches so much... we came back just yesterday and had the same dishes. So yummy!
Baked goods and soups are made in-house and the service is wonderful. Several people came to Simply Baked to pick-up lunch orders, so if you are in a hurry, call ahead and your food will be ready when you are.
As the weather is warming, consider stopping by for a morning treat and sit outside to enjoy your day. Or stop by to get a waffle cone when you are in downtown Emmett.

Coffee drinks and sometimes a pastry to go with it. Small town friendly with outside seating when weather permits. Excellent coffee made to your taste. Better than chain coffee places by far.

I have been lucky to enjoy this place for many years. Their chips and homemade salsa (and beans) got me through two pregnancies and have kept grumpy famished children from imploding while they wait for food. Wait staff is all family, and very friendly. I love the fajitas. I have never left disappointed.

The Emmett Starbucks is located inside Albertsons which makes it nice when you want a coffee drink while you're shopping, or take a break and just sit and enjoy one. Our grandkids like some of the drinks too so we sometimes stop there on our way out of town. They also have the same kind of upscale snacks that other Starbucks have in case you want something to munch on. The variety of coffee flavors makes it pretty easy to please just about everyone and the prices are comparable with other Starbucks. The offer both hot and cold coffee drinks.

We visited this restaurant as part of the POW/MIA charity ride. We really enjoyed the beautiful surroundings and friendly staff. We ended up forgetting our jackets there. We drove back up the next weekend and there our jackets were just hanging on the rack. the welcome we received was like going back to visit family. We enjoyed the Idaho nachos. The fried potatoes were super crispy!!!

I finally stopped in for breakfast and was amazed at the prices. Two of us had full breakfast and coffee for less than 11 bucks! Good breakfast, crispy bacon, and great pancakes. Place looked clean and modern yet with the small town country feel. Wait staff was nice and efficient. But...flies. I think this restaurant needs to invest in a fly fan at each entrance as it is in the country and yes, the country has animals and flies. But the pancakes left me wishing for more so Im sure Im headed back soon! The menu is full of lunch and dinner items that look great too. Nothing fancy but solid homestyle food.
