This place was recommended to us by my niece who lives in Ellsworth. Unlike some ice cream places around that serve Gifford's ice cream that you could just go buy at the grocery store this place makes their own and you can tell the difference. My only complaint would be that I decided to get Ginger Beer that they sell on tap. This is a soda made with ginger that is spicy and has a little kick. I had recently tried Maine Root Ginger Beer and loved it. This was Captain Eli's and it was flat as a pancake and awful. Not sure if it is just that bad or they were serving flat soda.

We ate here while on vacation back in 2011 and have been waiting to come back again. Glad to have made it back in September of 2017. It is almost worth the trip from Indy just to have dinner at Union River Lobster Pot. You have to eat here if you are in Bar Harbor or Ellsworth Maine. The service is excellent and they serve up some of the best lobster you will ever put into your mouth.
I don't like giving 5 star reviews because I think too many will give a 5 star when the establishment is not really deserving BUT this place deserves 5 stars.

We recently got the opportunity to stop in for lunch, but I have been going to Finn's for a long time. I love the atmosphere, with a delightful interior and fantastic live music when you're lucky enough to be there for it. The menu is great, with something for everyone and the specials are often some delicious off menu dishes. My favorite menu items are the Fish and Chips (homemade chips), The Reuben Sandwich is one of the best around (which is fabulous and usually the first thing I try at any restaurant offering it) and any of the burgers on the menu. I also particularly enjoy the Blackened Salmon Sandwich and dinner options. They cook a perfect burger here. And don't forget the dessert menu! The food is also very consistent which I always appreciate and their seasonal cocktail menu is always worth a look. The service there is always very good, and the staff are always warm and friendly without being overbearing. It can get busy so its always a good idea to call ahead or do reservations when available.

I don't go to diners often, so I can't compare it to much else, but the food was tasty and seemed fresh. Things were on the greasy side and service was brusque. Lunch took a solid two hours (kitchen backed up?). It's located inside a...MoreThanks for the review. I am glad you found the food to be tasty and fresh. In most cases parties of 4 or less are sat and served within 20 to 30 minutes at the very most. Thanks for visiting!

Enough seating inside and out to accommodate. Others just eat while parked in their cars. A dozen hard ice cream flavors. They are ready with your order before you can pay!
Tip: To get More bang for your buck order soft serve kiddie cone in a cup. I got more than I needed!

Bottom Line: Stop here when running errands in town. We were waiting on a takeout order.

Ate here twice while visiting the Bar Harbor area. Both times we had a short wait. Seemed to me that lots of locals eat here. On the second visit, i tried the special with apples and ricotta cheese. WOW! It was wonderful and the portion too much for me to eat! However, every bit of it was delicious. Homemade breads here are good. Whether you want a basic breakfast or want to try something new, you can find it here!

The new and improved 86 This! is in a much larger space and allows for real eat-in should you so desire. The food is all "wrapped" to go but would be very good sitting down and trying one of the ten different hot sauces that they have available for your tasting.
The good: Food is prepared to order so it is fresh. Ingredients are fresh as well and the result is an excellent wrap!
The not so good: Sometimes the wraps come out with a bit too much sauce on them and are "wet" and therefore not really suitable for eating on the run. Things can get a little messy. Be careful what you order. The new space is so much larger and the use of chrome is so predominant that the space feels a little "cold."

We are Downeast Maine's favorite restaurant for pizza, sandwiches, and family fare. We offer dine in and take out and even have a drive through window.
Love me some Pat's wherever I go in Maine so Ellsworth won my vote as a place to meet friends. Friendly waitstaff and yummy thin dough pizza are expected and delivered. Found out about "extra crispy" on my pepperoni pizza which just sealed it for me.

Flexit produces fresh juice and real fruit smoothies, as well as excellent coffee from Coffee By Design, a micro-roaster in Portland, ME. Our service is friendly and efficient. Customers order at the counter and then food is delivered to their table. The setting is bright and comfortable, with tables, couches, outdoor seating, and free Wi-Fi.
Easy parking, friendly staff and patrons, blazing internet, great food, nice music and mind blowing chai. Who could ask for more?
Good chai that is not laden with sugar is hard to find. Theirs was really spicy and fresh.
I had eggs, spicy potato, applewood bacon and cheese on a wrap. It was better than tasty! Their pastries were very hard to resist. They went through a large tray of blueberry muffins while I was there.
It was a bit too noisy for a call but I was able to get about three hours of work in using skype with zero connection issues. Super fast internet. I will be going back soon!
