My wife and I went here for breakfast. This place was recommended to us by a co-worker of our daughter. The people who work here could not be more friendlier and the pancakes, bacon, and coffee were awesome. I wanted to order more but didn't bring enough cash and didn't realize they didn't accept credit cards. Now that I know, I will bring more cash! We definitely will be back.

Guadalajara Mexican Restaurant

Reviewed By F7973YTrobinb - Limon, Colorado

Wanting to have an early birthday meal, I decided on Guadalajara after noting its many reviews here. It was not a mistake.

I normally get Chile rellenos at most places that serve Mexican, but here I opted for the seafood enchiladas and I did not come away disappointed. They were two tortillas crammed full with seafood, smothered in green sauce and cheese and served with rice, refrieds, and a vinegar/oil coleslaw that was an unexpected twist. There were also chips and salsa. While the salsa was watery in consistency it had very good flavor. I mulled over what to drink and was suggested to try an imported Coke from Mexico. It was a great option for a person like me who does not normally drink soda.
The total bill came out at under $20 bucks. Maybe a bit pricey for lunch, but seafood is not cheap. Roberto was a very good waiter and the speed with which I had my entrée was well under 10 minutes from order to table.

I WILL be coming back! These folks got a great thing going here!

I visited Grumpy's for the first time and I have to say, it's the best place all around to get a latte in Elizabeth. Otherwise you need to go to a drive through or a market to get one. It's in a mid 1960's style strip mall but you cannot see it from the road. So look for signs to the Post office because it is right next to it.
Prices are average. The flavored coffee drinks can be overly syrup sugar sweet but I like them that way. However if you don't like desert coffee, Don't be mad because they are generous, just be specific in your order. The lady that served me was very friendly. They sell Bluepoint Bakery muffins, sticky buns, cookies, and raised bread cinnamon rolls, pre-made sandwiches, salads and some gluten free stuff from Udi's Bakery. My favorite of the offerings are the "local fare" items including Mame's Breakfast Burritos and Rose's Creamery's Ice Cream. They have a few local entrepreneur gift items for sale as well. This entire place is very clean. The decor is a classy contemporary casual. The lighting is bright and warm except in the bathrooms where you barely can see your face in the mirror. Appears Elizabeth's middle to upper middle class people gather here regularly and it could very well be a is a social hub for Elizabethans. It appears that they have live acoustic or semi acoustic music on certain days, and are open late on others. They are closed on Sundays which makes no sense to this daily coffee drinker.

The only real alternative to Mexican or Italian is Spring Valley. They generally do a very good job. I like their salmon salad, their BLT's, and their patty melts as standard fare. Nachos are big but big isn't always better. Wine pours are generous. The staff is friendly and they seem to continually strive to get better. It is 10 miles north of town so not convenient for everyone.

The Coffee Coop is a convenient in and out off of the main highway in Elizabeth. They have very competent and friendly service. Their products are well-crafted and high quality. The Coop has a few food items, including burritos. One of their mainstay attendants is Dalton. He has his act together and whips up some seriously-good coffee beverages.

My sister & I each had a FABULOUS burger here, along with fries, onion rings, deep-fried mushrooms. And a salad-only visit to the salad bar. (We saw they also had Rocky Mountain Oysters, but have had our last taste of these, probably!) Comfortable setting, quiet on a weeknight, delicious burgers for both of us, and pleasant atmosphere with excellent service. My sister is a "local" and says the steaks are not as good as the burgers -- I can't vouch for that, but her taste buds are pretty accurate.

I tried this pizza as a suggestion from some co-workers. I must say, good idea. The pizza's are huge (26" available). They are also very good, cooked thorough and tasty. I have since had this pizza about 10 times in the last year. I love the food, the employees are friendly and the price is reasonable. All in all you cant go wrong here. Next time I'm thinking about trying the calzones or sandwiches. Heard good things.

A Starbucks is a Starbucks is a Starbucks. Sometimes it is just nice to know what your getting and you can get it in even rural places. Starbucks in Los Angeles just about at every corner. In Elizabeth, there are not very many corners let alone food choices. I appreciate the consistency. Starbucks is my caffeine security blanket. .

Catalina's Diner

Reviewed By Michael G - Aurora, Colorado

Stopped in here for lunch, it looked cute and the wife wanted to try it. Nice staff, good service, friendly folks for sure. This isn't about the service, it was the food.

The wife had a 3 taco plate, way overpriced for what was served. I was rather upset about that, but what can you do? She added hot sauce to the tacos for flavor, I've never seen her do that, ever. They were very bland.

I was hankering for a pile of fries and beer so that's what I ordered. These were horrible fries! At the bottom of any ranking you could give them. Greasy and limp, you know the kind.

For the price, quite high for the quality of food, I wish we'd gone on into Parker to eat. Won't go back there again. That's a shame, nice folks and cute place.

This is the place any Elizabethan should have a wedding or baby shower, a high tea gathering or Ladies Brunch. Dainty decor in separated rooms with linens, antique furniture and China tea cups makes this place very VERY feminine. A New Owner, cook and menu has brought new life to the place and although it seems a little high priced for the area, the prices are comparable to any tea palace I have visited in So. Cal. The difference here is the food is exceptionally good. The home made soup was THE BEST soup I ever had.
