Due to both my parents not keeping the best health we decided to eat out this Christmas Day. I personally am never a huge fan of this but the Sunninghill is always good and that is where my dad wanted to go so off we went.
Firstly we were seated in the conservatory which was great as you have plenty of room without it feeling crowded. Menu was very good and i chose haggis, sorbet, beef and sticky toffee - pretty much standard fare. Everything was tasty hot and extra potatoes etc were all offered. my folks had a few different options - soup / melon and as i said there was nothing overly adventurous. This is probably what has to be offered for a Christmas lunch. What i liked was that everything was tasty - hot and i know this is the least you would expect but when catering for large numbers on a day like Christmas this can be easier said than done.
Enjoyed the meal and what particular made it are the staff who are alwasys very attentive and chatty. They tend to be older staff and they don't change much which is a credit to both them and the business.

We stopped in here for brunch and coffee. They left the plastic wrapping on the black pudding when they cooked it but otherwise the brunch was very tasty. We didn't have room for cakes but they looked delicious.

Qismat is a busy licensed Indian restaurant, popular with locals and visitors to the area. Offering a wide choice of dishes, mainly curries and tandoori dishes, but also much more. We also have a special 3 course lunchtime menu available. Every Mondays we have a buffet available with 8 starters, 12 main courses and various desserts. We have been consistently serving freshly prepared food for 30 years, with a consistently high turnover of covers
After a fantastic family meal on Friday I felt it was about time I reviewed this excellent restaurant. Always busy which is clear evidence of its quality and I would recommend booking a table, especially at weekends. The waiting staff are always very professional, friendly, helpful and efficient. Excellent range of dishes on offer and staff will go out of their way to ensure special needs are met. Always our first choice for Indian cuisine.

We were given a voucher as a gift, and decided to use it for the High Tea menu, the dinning room was nice and clean, and the staff were nice and attentive, but the food I am sad to say was a let down , it was more quantity than quality.

We were looking for a family restaurant whilst passing through Elgin. TripAdvisor was a good starting point to find a suitable restaurant.
We went in to find a very pleasant surprise. Excellent customer service and professionalism. The restaurant even assisted with a baby chair and colouring in material. My boys loved the kids menu having spaghetti Bolognese and a pizza with ice cream to finish off the meal. As we are well travelled the kids can be fussy but clean empty plates all around. Good seafood pizza and wine for the lady of the house. Well done. We will be back sooner rather than later. Lovely place for both family and couples.

Went for Sunday lunch this afternoon, a very pleasant welcome as we arrived and immediately seated. Our waiter was Will, throughout our time there his attention and service was outstanding. Very pleasant young man.
The menu had an amazing amount of choices and our food was very well presented and very nice. Large portions too!
The atmosphere was light and the place itself was airy and pleasant. The tables were decently spread so you feel like you have privacy.
The only thing I found that was a small blemish, was at the end when looking at the bill I was charged £4.80 for two glasses of water. I would expect to be given tap water at no charge unless I had specifically asked for bottled, with our lovely Scottish water it is unnecessary to buy. And with the high standard of service given I would have expected Will to say at the time of ordering that it would be bottled.
That aside, it was a brilliant meal out and I would definitely recommend it and will be returning myself.

We ordered a banquet for four and only around 2 of the dishes were tasty. Most dishes were greasy and bland. First impressions were not good as it is rather dingy and run down. Staff were very pleasant but service slow. Won’t be going back.

Visit beaver travel regularly and we are always delighted with the quality of the cheese scones which we rate as the best in the area. The ladies who serve there give a first class service and always have a welcoming smile on their faces. It is always a pleasure to go to beaver travel

Very welcoming hotel set in its own grounds close to city centre so nice and quiet ,but pretty everything is within walking distance of the hotel. We had previously stayed here in a Superior room whilst attending a wedding but this time We had got a good deal for 3 nights in a standard room which was on the ground floor . It had a 4 poster type bed with large Flat screen TV ,desk, wardrobe and arm chair . Bathroom had an inverted p type bath with an over bath shower . Also had some toiletries .Room was nice and warm - which was fine but was also was responsible for a lot of condensation on the windows! (Only real difference between the superior and standard was the superior was larger and had a sleigh bed )
Whilst there you have access to the swimming pool and jacuzzi .Breakfast was fine offering juices ( help yourself ) and a menu on the table offered full English , porridge, cereals, fresh fruit salad, yogurts,or continental ( ham / cheese plate)
Service on our first morning was slow but the following 2 mornings this was redeemed!
We had an evening meal in the bistro - husband had steak I had chicken - both were tasty but more about presentation than quantity ( chicken breast was very small and only one mushroom and a half tomato on each as veg!) chips could have been crispier too . This resulted in our eating elsewhere for better value and larger portions on other nights.
Person on reception mans the bar ,so be prepared to wait for bar service if reception busy or phone rings!
Staff very helpful and pleasant .

We have had a few meals in the Akash in the past but this was our first take away.
There is a wide ranging take away menu with free Delivery for orders over £20 in Elgin. Prices are reasonable and our telephone order was waiting for us at the agreed time. Service from Anthony was very friendly and most importantly, we both thoroughly enjoyed our meal.
