They are only open for lunch and open at 10:30 a.m. The cash or check (that's surprising) business is thriving. Staff are all very friendly and welcoming. When you first step in, they get your drink order - before you have even have decided whether you are supposed to seat yourself. You are.
There are plenty of things meant to entertain in there, including a box of Betty Crocker Roadkill savers. Zippered plastic bags, no doubt. There are references to the outhouse, etc. And there was a life-size cardboard sign of Coach what's-his-name of Alabama (can you tell I am an Auburn fan.)
The only food item I would say was disappointing were the mashed potatoes. Seemed made from instant perhaps. The fried chicken was moist and not stringy. The country fried steak was pretty good, but next time, I'll get more chicken and not the country fried steak. I would have gotten more chicken and rice too.
At the end of the meal, you get an opportunity to win a free lunch by reaching in a pouch and pulling out a poker chip. We didn't win, but I felt I had won by having such a nice experience.

Down South Barbecue may be a little hard to find although it's right off Hwy 59 on CR 10. They have the best pulled pork & barbecues in the area. It's one of our area's best kept secrets! Portions are more than generous and Momma's Cole slaw is to die for! If you order the pulled pork dinner, you'll have enough for the next day too.

Nice shop, smart cafe, but over-priced. Prices on many food & beverage items are not posted and are high ($19 for 2 smoothies & small pouch of candy?, $5 for a small latte'...). I don't mind paying more if it is an intentional decision. After waiting to get an order placed, then finding out the price only after my item was processed, well, thats not so good. I will try to avoid this place.

My daughter, daughter-in-law, and I needed some girl time. My daughter lives in Foley and told us she new the perfect place to go for lunch. She was SO right. I had my first ever cheeseburger soup and it was scrumptious. Salmon quiche and hot tea with a lavender and lemon scone for dessert. Robin, the owner, can tell you everything there is to know about the teas she sells. I bought a steeper and a bag of Russian tea. We had a wonderful time. Go and enjoy.

Pirates Cove is a very polarizing place. Some will love it for the rustic atmosphere, "down to earth" ambiance and waterfront setting. Others will hate the short menu, "dog friendly environment, and "dirty" setting. Your experience will depend on your personal likes and dislikes. We found the cheeseburgers and fries/onion rings combo to be quite tasty and filling. The plethora of dogs did not bother us at all, as we are "dog people" big time! We loved sitting near Wolf Bay and taking in the many boats going to and fro. Try it and I think you'll love it!

Love going to Stacey's. It brings me back to the old days in the small town I grew up in. I can get a good Malt (not milk) Shake, like they used to be. Or a float made with root beer, or coke flavored with cherry, lime, or any other flavoring the fountain has. WHAT A GREAT PLACE!!

Good food. That's where I will begin. I ordered the Chicken Alfredo. Absolutely, without a doubt the BEST I have ever eaten. And the prices in this place are very reasonable. My wife and sister also enjoyed their food immensely. The waitresses were very very friendly from start to finish and they kept up with what was going on at the table, i.e. refilling the drinks, keeping us informed about the order. I am glad we discovered this place right here in Foley. We will definitely be back.

The only complaint is the fact that there is TOO MUCH FOOD!!! EVERYTHING is absolutely excellent and delicious. There is a wait to get into this place but every second you wait is definitely worth it!
The portions are huge and the staff are all super friendly. The atmosphere is great inside the restaurant and everybody is having a good time; patrons and employees alike. This is a MUST SEE while in the Gulf Shores area.

Here's their phone number 251-971-5637 and link to other info - they don't seem to have their own webpage<br>www.gulf-shores-travel-guide.com/gelato-joes.html
Driving back from Pensacola, we stopped in for a late lunch. We had never eaten here before and were pleasantly surprised. It is a clean place and the food was prepared and presented very well. The meatball hoagie was delicious. The Cuban was done properly and was more than I could eat. The fries and the salad were both excellent sides.
For drinks, we took advantage of the specials and ordered a $2 Vodka Cranberry and a Corona. We can highly recommend this location for lunch.
