Hostel service with competitive prices !!! At Bar-Restaurant-Hostel "EDLIDO" you will find the best traditional Albanian & Elbasan food !!! Try it once ... Satisfaction is our goal !!!
Arrived in Elbasan hitchhiking from Istanbul, was early evening, desperately looking for a place to sleep and shower after few days of intense hitchhiking and being in nature spots haha.
After couple of hours of wandering, walking random streets, asking around : everyone told me there's no hostel in Elbasan.
That's just a tourist trick for hotel lobbying my mind says, so being persistent I still walk around take other streets and tada !
Here's the Edlido hostel : held by a very nice family, I was very welcome, they are kind and smiling (not like few hotels in this city I just visited before, that see travelers as tramps or whatever, didn't smile and were not helpful), they even gave me some fruits as I arrived and was looking quite exhausted !
The hostel is clean, 2 bed dorms are quite big so you feel at home, separate showers and toilets, wifi, and rate is 8€ for the night or 10 with breakfast.
So to sum up : nice and smiling people, cheap and clean hostel with all you need, not far by walk from the center, what more to ask?
Definitely would go back there next time in Elbasan, and I recommend you to do so as well!
Big thanks to all the staff again for being so welcoming :)
Cheers,
Julien

It took the staff a little bit to realize that i was sitting outside. But they where very friendly and fast. The garden is beautiful, inside the old Fortress of Elbasan. I had the soup of the day and something local (Chicken in a Bowl filled with hot cheese).
I highly recommend this restaurant.

A delightful, delicious alternative to pizza/pasta. Every dish was slightly unusual and unusually tasty, even the green salad, and veggies like me are well served. Menu is currently in Albanian only so bring your dictionary app (there is of course wifi).

After driving from Macedonia, we arrived in Elbasan at midday and it was 41 Celsius. In need of a coffee we looked around, and spotted this Coffee House, on the wide dual-lane main thoroughfare (Bulevardi Qemal Stafa). İnside was astonishing. It was a coffee shop to rival Starbucks, Coffee Dunya, Coffee World, Lavazzo etc. Staff spoke excellent English, and they served up a spot-on espresso and latte, plus delicious sandwiches. Prices were expensive for Albania (trendy place no less), but cheaper than most international counterparts.

Ottima pasticceria dove si possono trovare tanti dolci sia di tradizione albanese che dei Paesi vicini. Dal baklava ai llukum di vario sapore, è difficile non farsi tentare... ed io l'ho fatto molto piacevolmente!!!

We stopped in Elbasan for lunch and enjoyed a very good meal at Il Marchese. You'll only find Italian dishes here including great pastas (the tortellini with prosciutto was particularly good) and large, tasty pizzas (I particularly enjoyed the prosciutto with mushrooms though it was too big for me to eat alone!). Service was excellent, English definitely spoken and understood and the prices very cheap (our meal for three including a large bottle of mineral water came to the equivalent of $12US).

I always stop with pleasure at Don Camillo, near the Stadium in Elbasan, because I love the Italian food and want to try new things. The menu is rich with a large variety of Italian dishes, pizza, pasta and seeafood. The staff is very friendly and are happy to suggest you what is best. The interior has been designed to feel warm and welcome.
