I went to this restaurant on 2 occasions during a business trip. The first was for lunch and I was with 2 Spanish speaking colleagues, which made communication easy. We had a lovely fresh tomato salad for starters, which was delicious. I then had an Ox steak, which was huge and cooked perfectly My colleagues went for the pork and beef, which were also extremely nice.
I returned in the evening with a client and although I only have a very basic grasp of Spanish, we managed to communicate with a member of staff who speaks better English than my Spanish.
We had a mushroom and ham starter, which was extremely rich and tasty, which was followed by a mixed meat platter. This came out on a hot tray and consisted of various cuts of meet all grilled to perfection.
If you like meat, I would recommend this establishment, it was clean, reasonably priced and had a lovely atmosphere. Probably not ideal for vegetarians though.

Just (some 20 km) outside Almeria
Usual high quality beautiful presentation , knowledgeable staff - great selection of wines by the glass . Prices seem to have risen somewhat since our last visit , not many places in Spain have done that for a long time , but still a wonderful experience.
One crazy anomaly is the men's lavatory in the tapas bar , a disgrace anywhere , let alone in a Michelin starred restaurant - the old urinals have been taped up for years , way past a time for refurbishment , !

We went here for a business lunch and the quality of the food was fantastic. We had a wide range of dishes and all were fresh, well prepared and very tasty.
Despite being very full, the fresh fruit and cake selection for afters were too good to resist.
The establishment was very clean and bright and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Pizzas, Salads, Suckling Lamb, Kid's Shoulder, Iberian Secret etc. It is in the marina of almerimar along natural site
Pizza is good, for my own preference it could have been cooked a little longer but I like it crispy. Staff are very friendly and service was fast. Would defo recommend for any family / couple looking for good cheap eats. 2 glasses of wine 3 pizzas, a kids pizza and 2 glasses of sprite €23.... how can you go wrong. Keep up the good work guys.

Occasionally, my wife and I visit Almerimar, On many of those occasions we have tapas at La Gaviota. Excellent!
The latest visit was 14 February 2017. My wife had two tonics plus tapas of cod and boquerones. I had a beer, a sherry and tapas of cod and pinchos. All for around ten euros. Excellent.
Whilst there I tried to ascertain whether the owner or previous was English and a Brighton and Hove Albion fan because the logo on the menu does look like the 'Seagulls' badge!

We were in the area and decided to go straight for the No.1 Tripadvisor listed restaurant as we are normally very happy with the outcome, unfortunately not this time. We normally frequent character Spanish restaurants so was apprehensive about this very modern, clean but character less bar. We ordered a caña which is normally a tube of beer but it was a small glass about 3 inches high which cost €2.40 we reckoned you would need 4 to make up a Tanque which would equate to €9.60 a Spanish pint, unheard of. The tapas were alright, nothing special and the chicken pincho with hot sauce was basically 4 bits of breaded chicken deep fried for so long I genuinely couldn't chew it, it was so dry with sweet chilli sauce on top. I did tell the waiter when he asked if everything was okay but it didn't make a difference. Russian salad OK had better, Albondigas were home made, Brocheta of goats cheese had a lovely fruity sauce but it was lukewarm and greasy. Mini burger OK but a bit miserly with the onion relish. All in all disappointed and if that is the number 1 listed restaurant then doesn't say much for the others I am afraid.

Ya sea para tapear o para comer de racilnrs o platos. Productos de muy buena calidad y bien servidos. Trato super amable. El sitio es pequeño y un poco apretado. Pero lo recomiendo. Hasta ahora nunca me han fallado.
