Nothing to change our view of this restaurant from last year. Still has a lovely location at the quieter part of the beach in Eforie Nord, but the prices are just too expensive, so it's usually very quiet, compared with many of the self-service restaurants.

Another visit to El Stefanino. I see that menu prices have now been updated on their website. Rather pricey for the portion sizes compared with other restaurants, but one of the few actual restaurants in Eforie Nord - many being self-service. Beer pricey at RON 7 for 400 ml draught.
Since our last visit there appear to be more people in half board, so the restaurant offers a buffet at lunch times, which somewhat means the restaurant seems less exclusive.

I had a fish soup (the house soup) and it was a good choice. The menu is short, but the main fish dishes are all present, so I guess anyone can chose something. And very important: there are some fishermen there who catch the fish from the Black Sea therefore I think the meal is very fresh. It was a bit crowdy so my advice is to get there around 12 (the opening hours). I will come back with a review, cause I will sure get there again and try something else.

I decided to try this restaurant based on tripadvisor reviews. Well, at the beginning I wasn't very impressed, when we arrived they didn't had a menu and we were offered some classic "romanian dishes" like grilled pork neck and fries. We were amused and asked why is the restaurant named "fish taverna", if they don't have fish or seafood. Well, thats when the surprise came and the waiter said, "Oh but we have those too but usually people don't ask for them". :))
So we had an awesome fish soup and mussels with red spicy sauce, some of the best I ever had. Also they told us that they have fresh fish everyday and that the food is not kept for the next day.

It was born from the need to enjoy the beauty of nature and from the great desire to express our cuisine art through delicious fresh fish dishes and seafood. Located on Agigea beach, faraway from the bustle of urban civilization, this restaurant has a Mediterranean attitude and keeps the old tradition of local fishermen. Cooking with love, we welcome you with our dishes, #ca-n Golf - house recipes, made outof our chef's inspiration and art! The flavored wines, the good music and the wild landscape fulfil the menu for a relaxed mood, cheerfulness and appetite for life. You're welcome to Golful Pescarilor in the summer and in the winter, to be a part of our story!
The prices are simply too high for the quality of the food, which is mediocre. The black tiger shrimps they advertise are actually jumbo shrimps and I still can't believe that in 2017, for a restaurant with such a nice view and decor, they still serve sauces made from bucket mayonnaise. The location is nice, the serving was good. The food, not so much.

Because we were very unhappy with Eforie Nord, a friend recommended this place for lunch. And he was right! The view is spectacullar, if your are lucky not to have crying small children arround or very loud speaking persons you might have a great time. The food is good. The service is also good. We had lunch there three times. We had seafood that was good, "rapane"-snails but they were not cooked well. The Deserts are also very good.It is a nice retreat from a very noisy and ugly place that Eforie Nord ended up to be - it was a crown jewel before 1990.

The restaurant situated on the ground floor of the villa with the same name is a quiet place compared with the others in the area. Being not so central, it has the advantage of not being over-crowded during lunch or dinner.
You may also pay by credit card, this bit we found very useful during our stay.
Food is ready made for lunch, locals call it "autoservire" - self service.
Kids also like it as they have a variety of sweets available, all fresh and very tasty.
Food is well prepared, tasty and relatively cheap. We ate there many times and always found something new. Seems that the menu is not the same every day.
Late afternoon a band starts to play live music, which seems to be enjoyed by the people.

Went in & out. We did not manage to stay in even for a drink. The place was very busy. Because of the extremely loud music, everyone was shouting at everyone. At the table next to ours, a mother was enjoying the view. Her toddler was playing a nousy cartoon on the mobile with sound on a wireless speaker on maximum.
The waiter was fast and pushy: no, they do not have anything fresh to drink. Their coffee is just coffee, he does not know what make& type. But the cook can impress us with whatever! They have a comprehensive menu (countless pages) but he can prepare whatever we'd like, even if not in the menu! (Therefore we realized, nothing fresh in the food menu either)
We looked around at plates of food on other tables. And we decided it's more than we coul beare...
So we left.
Maybe other people more lucky&patient.
We were not!

The food is fantastic and you can enjoy good Romanian live music. The services wasn't the best, but the waiter tried to please after his mistakes and apologized. I recommend it to everyone who is going to Eforie Nord. The restaurant has a Terrace with a great sea view.
