We stopped into Jitters on our way to the ferry in Homer after picking up a few audio books from The Book Shelf used bookstore nearby. Ordered chais and a berry scone and settled into a couch by the fireplace. It soon became clear that locals flock to this place to meet friends, tutor students, and conduct business. We wandered around the walls of photos. Will visit again.

It's little wonder that this restaurant is number one in Eagle River. Very good: Chicken Parmigiana; Spaghetti and Meatballs; Spinach and Cheese Raviolis; Pizza Man Special Pizza; and our server. Great: Salad Bar, especially the pasta salads. Not so good: wait time until the meal arrived. Hoever, you won't be disappointed with the slowness if you drink enough wine. We did. The house Cabernet (Two Vines) was really good. The Pinot Noir not as much. Had to send it back. Overall a good experience for all.

Birthday cake time again and Cold Stone Creamery never disappoints. This birthday was no exception.
There was not a lot of selection, but the clerk explained that some freezers were down and more cakes were in the back. He took a look and gave us a full report of the inventory and we made our terrific selection.

Tinker's is the local soup and sandwich joint. It's pretty much the ONLY homemade soup and sandwich shop. It's small and quirky, with friendly staff, and toys in the cafe for patrons with kids. They make a variety of coffees and other beverages, including the best smoothies in town. For both breakfast and lunch, they make a variety of wraps and sandwiches, or you can use a custom order sheet to personalize your own (and they provide a lot of different options for a range of diets and allergies). They also do salads, a soup of the day and a couple of sides. Plus, they serve breakfast all day! You can also call ahead to have your food ready to go. Everything we've had here is good. Portions are not huge and the cost seems a bit high. But it is a locally-owned small business so I don't mind paying a little more.

Sleepy Dog has by far THE BEST coffee in the Anchorage bowl! If you haven't tried their coffee you're missing out. And if you do try it and Cheryl(sp) is working, say "Hi" to her for me...

I like doing business in Eagle River so I was las to see this one come to town. TCBY closed down years ago and I've missed it because the only other option was Cold Stone.
The yogurt is good and they usually have some familiar flavors as well as new ones. Lots of great toppings too. A good variety.
I have 2 comments however, firstly they are very expensive comparatively per ounce, and the other is I don't understand why I should tip someone when I'm making my own container of dessert.
But I'm glad they're in town.

Very nice sports bar atmosphere. Big screen TV plus extra TV's placed all around. Locals cheering on the Seattle Seahawks made for a fun night. Prices good for the area. Local beers. We selected the blueberry beer. Very smooth with good flavor. Food was average, burger and fries. Plenty of food though.

One of my two favorite local places for a hot drink! I am not much of a coffee drinker but drink a variety of teas and hot chocolates. Coho has a good variety, the baristas are fast and friendly, and prices are good-average. They also offer a customer loyalty program where you can earn free drinks.

You either love Starbucks or you don't and we do. The lemon pound cake which you can't get in the UK always draws us back. Its perfect with a latte.

This location is closed for the past several months. Jimmy's used to have very very good Korean food such as kalB ribs and also my B Bim Bop. Especially when it comes in a stone pot.
