Station 343 opened in August of 2012 and is the focal point of Historic Main Street in Dwight, IL. Station 343 was named in honor of the 343 Firefighters and Paramedics that lost their lives on September 11th, 2001. Station 343 establishes the atmosphere of a fire station. Complete with a vintage 1917 Seagrave fire truck that was used by the Pontiac, IL Fire Department. The brick walls, wood floors and rafters are all original to the building originally build in 1881. This historic building was home to many businesses over the years that serviced the many travelers on Historic Route 66. Station 343 is a must see for anyone making the Route 66 Journey.
We found Station 343 by an internet search of restaurants in Dwight, as we needed to meet our son and his fiancee midway between Morton and Palatine to hand off their dogs so we could dog-sit for a week. The outside temperature was 90 degrees, so we could not leave the dogs unattended in the sweltering car. I went in and was welcomed promptly. feeling that small town hospitality. I asked if I could order for carry out and the hostess took my order for four sandwiches for our picnic dinner. The hostess graciously offered to set up a table for us outside, where we could dine with our dogs, but I elected to sit in the park-like setting across the street. She took great care in taking our orders. The food was delicious and the entire experience was quite satisfying and heart warming. She was very accommodating to our needs and attentive to making our experience great. I'd definitely return to this small town jewel.

This DQ is very well designed and a lovely place. Not your typical experience of in and out in cramped space. The area is very comfortable and even has an outdoor space. The service is small town friendly, but with years of experience in management. Quick and good food! Stop of the Interstate 55 at the Rt 17 exit and drive just a few blocks into the lovely town of Dwight to get a different fast food experience.

We stopped here on a whim while traveling on I-55 south and we were looking for something local rather than fast food. My kids (who were very hungry) were super excited to see a basket of crackers and butter on the table for them to snack on while waiting for our food. They didn't have to wait long though because our food was served relatively quickly. We all enjoyed our meals as well (French toast for one, chicken tenders for another, and the gyro platter for myself), and our service was very good. I would definitely stop here again if in the area.

Fast-casual restaurant serving up authentic, slow-smoked barbecue and homemade sides. Dine in, take out or local delivery offered. Catering packages offered. Seasonal beer garden.
These establishment offers very good food, dozens of drafts on tap, live entertain, inside and outside bars, and a host of indoor gaming from pool table to slots. It is a relaxing, delicious and entertaining venue for the middle to upscale customer.

Stopped last night on the way home from St. Louis week-end. Wanted something other than corporate fast food and spied the Pizza sign. Friendly, small town pizza place decorated with family sports memorabilia. Pizza choices are thin crust or deep dish from home made dough and sauce from old family recipes. Gluten free available. Very thin crust, almost pie crust, but good and a pleasant change from yeast risen crust. Also on the menu, Italian beef, a variety of appetizers, sandwiches, salads soft drinks, and more. My family of three pizza hounds polished off a medium size half cheese, half veggie pie. I'm happy we found this place and recommend stopping if you're in the area and looking for a meal.

Up on north end of town on Rt47 kinda hidden behind the gas stations by the interstate but you'll be glad you found it. To go orders mostly, truckers know this place well. Big menu, everything is made to order (10-15 minutes) and low prices. I love their egg foo young, wife likes the beef & broccoli, and crab rangoon. Food is packed in plastic plates w/lids, rather than white boxes...no dishes to do at home. You're going to love your meal whatever you order.

It's right off I-55, next to to Love's Travel Stop and the gas station.
Being a fast-food chain restaurant it serves the usual - fried chicken, burgers, biscuits, etc. It took us some time to stand in line, they somehow were not that fast, seating is comfortable, everything is rather clean. The restaurant is connected (through a door inside) to the Love's Travel Stop that offers good coffee and clean bathrooms.

This restaurant is ideally located on IL47 just south of US 55.
We always stop here because it is a triple crown winner:
1. Location
2. Bathrooms always clean
3. Quick, consistent, delicious food
I had the beef and cheddar and hubby had roast beef and loaded curly fries... yum

Pretty standard fare for a Subway. Usually the bread is always fresh (better than some in larger communities!!), staff is friendly, meats & veggies are fresh. They are often out of cookies it seems. Decent place for a chain.

We frequently stop at this location on our trip to Southern Illinois. We have always found the service adequate and food typical McDonald's. The restrooms leave much to be desired and do not have paper towels but the mechanical hand drying machines that are ineffective.
