...but really wish they would update and remodel the interior. At least try a bit harder to make it a nice place to stay. Not impressed with this lack of effort but on the other hand the service is feat and the coffee and baked items are top notch.

Fantastic breakfast and lunch spot - cozy, warm vibe with excellent food and great service! My Yellowstone Omelet was out of this world. Others in our group enjoyed the Down East French Toast, Eggs Florentine and classic Big Bean Breakfast - all were prepared to perfection. In addition to traditional fare, the Big Bean serves up some very creative cuisine - can't wait to go back to sample more of it! As other reviewers have indicated, there's usually a wait to get in. We went at 10:30 on a Monday and waited a modest 15 minutes - a small price to pay for the excellent experience ahead! Big Bean gets my highest recommendation!

First time visit. Was not crazy about the cafeteria style of waiting in line to order food and beverages. Especially when it's busy and everyone, including staff are inpatient. The pizza was good. the Garlic and Cinnamon Knots were tasty. I'd pay extra for regular sit down table service. Good if you're in a hurry and not looking to relax.

If only all restaurants were like Bella's! We'd never been to Durham before and I was looking for a place for a casual dinner; Bella's was a possibility - as were various others - but fortunately we struck gold! This is not an elaborate restaurant with a lavish terrace but for us it was perfect - friendly, polite, efficient service; a very nice table on the patio outside (in the evening sunshing!) and of course the food! I can very strongly recommend the Fish Tacos - which came with snap peas. Thank you for a very nice evening.

Much of the food is produced at UNH so it couldn't be any fresher. The salads and sandwiches are tasty and visually appealing.

Had an awesome breakfast last week at Young's. Hadn't been since my children were at UNH. It exceeded my expectations. It has the usual breakfast fare but with so many other options especially for the vegetarian crowd. Much of the vegetables served come from the owner's garden so you know it is fresh. We had great service and food and the decor is lovely. The day our group was there (we meet someplace new each month) the crew from WMUR Chronicle was filming at the restaurant. We decided as a group that we would definitely be back as everyone was impressed.

This was our second visit to Christophers... Food still taste great!! My only gripe is that although the prices look reasonable, I don't think the portions really are.
My wife got Sweet Potato fries as an app and they were really good. I got the Hot Sausage Soup($5) which was AWESOME. It comes in just one size though and I would have loved a larger bowl. It's loaded with sausage and herbs. Just a little spicy. Tomatoes, a layer of tortilla chips and melted cheese on top.
For our lunch, my wife got the large Fresh Salad ($6). She added shrimp ($7) and it came with just four. And she added avocado ($2). So the salad cost $15. This was a little high considering what we have gotten at other restaurants. The portion was not that great. I had the French Connection ($8) which was thinly shaved Prime Rib on garlic bread with Swiss cheese on top and served with au jus. It came with fries and a pickle. The fries were good and crispy. Although it tasted AWESOME, it looked nothing like the pictures that I have seen on their website. There was not much meat in it at although... A little disappointed...
For us to leave a restaurant and my wife to say that she is still hungry does not happen very often. With one beer, the meal cost us $50. We visited another restaurant the night before and paid $54 (that included two beers) and left stuffed!! We will go back because the food was great. But we won't be regulars...

The coffee is excellent. The have a selection of bagels, muffins and pastries that are good as well. The service is quick. I gave them a complicated group order and they got it perfect. It is busy with many locals.
It is attached to a Subway restaurant. There is limited space to sit inside although there are some tables outside on the side walk. It is not really a coffee shop that you hang out in, more of a grab and go.

I'm ashamed to say how few times I've been to the Tavern considering how close it is. Tonight, we had dinner there and it was awesome. The restaurant has stone walls and you feel as if you have stepped back in time. The room is...MoreThank you tbearnh for your review. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your entrees and rated our service as excellent. We look forward to seeing you again in the near future.

Newicks Lobster House is one of my favorite seafood restaurants in the Seacoast Region, so I was delighted to be treated to dinner here for my birthday.
On this visit, I ordered the Baked Scallops at $24.99. So did the others. The meal came with a choice of two sides. I took coleslaw and rice pilaf. According to the menu, the scallops were fresh dry-packed sea scallops from Georges Bank which extends from Cape Cod in Massachusetts up along the coast of New Hampshire and Maine on up to Nova Scotia. It's the source of most of New England's seafood.
It was about a 25-minute wait for the food. Meanwhile, we enjoyed warm breadsticks and butter. This is an upscale change since my last visit.
Newick's is still a no-frills seafood restaurant, serving meals on paper plates and sides in paper or plastic containers.
When our meals arrived, we found that each aluminum baking dish contained 13 medium-sized sea scallops. They were baked with butter, lemon, and paprika. Cooked items were hot. The scallops were fresh, moist, and tender. The coleslaw and rice were in paper containers. Both were good.
Even though the weather wasn’t that good, it was still pleasant to dine overlooking the water, Newick's dock and lobster shack, Great Bay Marine, and Fox Point.
Service was slower than usual; and, it wasn’t that busy. The place was clean.
We rate this visit at 4.25. And, we do recommend eating here.
