Dunfanaghy (Irish: Dún Fionnachaidh, meaning "fort of the fair field") is a small town, former fishing port, and commercial centre in County Donegal, Ireland. It lies on Donegal's North West coast, specifically the west side of Sheephaven Bay, on the N56 road (the West Donegal Coastal Route).

Bistro-style restaurant in an amazing location overlooking Hornhead, Sheephaven Bay (our holding tank for Crab and Lobster!) and the distant hills and fields which provide the best quality, fresh produce for your enjoyment. Elegant relaxed surroundings, attentive unobtrusive service, and attention to detail are our hallmarks.
Fabulous, interesting and imaginative menu in a delighful environment. The service was fantastic, do not miss this one, it is very special. The six of us enjoyed a wonderful evening starting with a relaxing pre dinner drink in the excellent and comfortable lounge through to sitting down to eat in the dining room where the superb service continued right through the evening. A definite rerun is required.

Popped into the Starfish Bistro for a brunch and had the best french toast we've ever tasted.
French toast with bacon, maple syrup, bananas and natural yoghurt. Simply delicious.
Yes there was a bit of a wait but we knew the food was being freshly prepared so no problem with that. Read the papers and had great coffee.
Top ups of coffee and tea offered.
Service was excellent too.
Will definitely be back....again and again.

My wife and I have been coming to the Mill for years now. We spent last weekend here. What keeps bringing us back is the wonderful overall experience: the warm welcome from Susan, the friendly waiting staff and the superb food in the restaurant. The breakfast is also excellent. There is a great selection of fruit salads, bananas in cinnamon, rhubarb and other delights. The hot food is cooked from fresh. The rooms are comfortable, most of them with lovely views over New Lake. It is a perfect base for exploring the beauties of Donegal. We just love it here.

Nice shop but not my kind of thing. I don't like ornaments but if you do you will probably find things you like here.

i had called in advance about ordering a slimming world dish and was given the chefs personal number which I didn't feel comfortable ringing so when we arrived as part of a group I didn't want to be embarrassed by asking at table so I asked waitress first it was made such a fuss I was mortified they threw together a stir fry which was dripping in oil and tasted horrible I'm not fussy but I couldn't eat it we had paid a lot of money for a set menu as part of a group and felt so bad leaving will never be back

There must be some surly people in Donegal, but perhaps they don't go out much. We've certainly never met any of them in the hospitality industry! Those words "hospitality" and "industry" together like that suggest something that people have to "put on", but it never feels like that in Dunfanaghy, or, especially, in Lizzie's Diner.
When you ask for something, like another dish of Tartare sauce, for example. "no bother" sounds true, not part of the job.
We would love Lizzie's Diner, even if the food wasn't so delicious, for just that reason. And it's not that there's nobody there so staff have loads of time. They seem constantly busy, but never too busy for a smile and a bit of friendly interchange.
We recently had dinner there, and went back for breakfast the next morning. Other reviews will confirm the pleasure of eating here, but we'll add one comment to that ... If the seafood tagliatelle is anything to go by, when something on the menu is marked as a "Signature Dish", it's flagging up something extraordinarily good!

its a generously sized restaurant with efficient service. Mussels starter and sea bass main were lovely, Cajun chicken not authentic and a little tough. seasonal veg and potatoes were nice and cheeseboard a good way to finish. We had a nice bottle of Chilean sauvignon.

Arnou Cafe & Gourmet Burger Bar is open daily serving a full breakfast and lunch menu alongside a delicious selection of homemade sweet treats and specialty coffees. In the evening Arnou transforms into a Gourmet Burger bar until late evening and provides the ideal setting for customers to enjoy dinner and cocktails overlooking the beautiful Sheephaven Bay and Wild Atlantic Way.
Nice decor but no atmosphere or welcome from waitress. We like seafood chowder and ordered this but were given bowls of insipid, overcooked salmon and frozen prawn soup. Not sure what the red oily liquid was supposed to be but it definitely wasn't a creamy filling chowder. I would have said something when paying but the waitress seemed so uninterested I didn't bother.

Stopped here for a few brews. It's an authentic, historic Irish pub, with a great atmosphere, good food (from what I was told), great drink, and lively 'craic'. There was an Irish folk group playing when I went, and they were fantastic. The place was packed at 5 in the afternoon, with locals and tourists; met a physician and his wife from France and had a great time talking to them. It was my favorite place in Dunfanaghy.

A super selection of wines, local produce and specialty products that would satisfy any coniseuoir. Fresh cheeses, pates, olives to mention a few are perfect paired with a chilled wine for a perfect picnic. We love shopping here and the owner is very knowledgeable and can recommend pairings. Can't wait until July until we return.
