Dhërmi (Greek: Δρυμάδες, Drymades) is a village in Vlorë County, Albania. It is part of the municipality Himarë. The village lies 42 kilometers south of the city of Vlorë and about the same distance north of the southern city of Sarandë. The village is built on a slope of the Ceraunian Mountains at approximately 200 meters in altitude. It comprises three neighborhoods: Gjilek, Kondraq (also known as Kallam), and Dhërmi itself. The mountains descend to the southwest into the Ionian coast and Corfu in the distance to the south. Nearby is the village of Palasë. The inhabitants of Dhërmi speak a variant of the Himariote dialect, characterized by archaic features not retained in standard Greek. Recently, the coastal area has seen a boom in the construction of accommodation facilities, such as wooden villa complexes. In addition, it is considered by the Albanian youth as a nightlife destination.

Himare has a fair amount of restaurants, mostly of the touristy, uninteresting kind...if you go a bit further south in the town, staying along the beach, you'll almost trip over Portokalli as it has this little old sign. There are more trendy places right and left of it, but resist the bright lights and go where the locals go. Our dinner at Portokalli was a GREAT meal and it cost us €20!! We had great grilled orata (sea bass) and and fresh grilled calamari. In addition we started with a fish soup and a delicious local dish called TURLI , a sort of casserole of meatballs and succulent vegetables and rich spices. All that, plus a liter of white wine, and we were instant fans. There was a big group of local men feasting away and one of them, an older gentleman, launched into song, completing the authentic atmosphere and, with that, we left happy and satisfied. Portokilli doesn't look like much...just open the cover of that book and have a great meal in Himare.

We had great soup and dinner (pizza, seafood) and value for money was good. The place has the best atmosphere and view in between the reef secluded Beaches of Dhermi. We liked the lower balcony.

Esperia Restaurant is situated in the most beautiful corner of Ηimara’s harbour, next to the picturesque pier where the fishing boats tie up. Our restaurant has two outdoor spaces literally above the water, with a beautiful view on the blue sea and the golden sand beach of Spilea. We offer a wide variety of Greek and Mediterranean dishes, delicious international specialties along with a great selection of traditional regional cuisine.
Don't get there ! I don't ev3n get why this restaurant have so much reputation.. . Service was poor. Food More than average...

Taverna Lefteri, the oldest restaurant in Himara open since 1998, is well known for serving local Fresh fish and seafood and Traditional dishes.
Beautiful dishes - we tried the calamari, chicken, salad and roast veggies. All were lovely. Reasonably priced too. Complimentary fruit platter was the topper. Many thanks

This is a lovely looking atmospheric restaurant which appears to have lost the plot. Against advice we ate here and were very disappointed. They did not have an English menu and the menu they did have, although lots was on it hardly anything was available and it was over priced for the standard of food and in some case prices were incorrectly shown. .Service was very indifferent. As we were first in to the restaurant thank goodness we did not have to wait as long as others. The chips came about half an hour before the entree and were cold by the time the mains arrived. The pork was not too bad but a bit chewy however, the chicken fillet was inedible unless you were truly starving. How do you make chicken fillet tough? Dry I can almost understand but tough, dry and chewy! When I complained they said I should have sent the chicken back but we were had already waited so long for the food we would have been there all night. Think twice before you eat here. The only redeeming feature was that the draft beer was good!

We had a fantastic dinner here in Himare for a party of eight, driving down from Dhermi to find some different options. This was a more professional and organized restaurant than most of the choices in Dhermi. Between the eight of us we tried a variety of different dishes and everything was good, especially the pastas. I had a grilled calamari, which was the best calamari I had anywhere in Albania; it was prepared more like a calamari steak, grilled in lots of olive oil with herbs. Very fresh and tasty. Together with wine the dinner was still very affordable and the service was excellent. Recommended as a choice for anybody staying in Himare or elsewhere on the Southern Albanian coast who is looking for a pleasant dinner at a well-organized restaurant.

We ate excellent fresh fish (a wild sea bass) for a VERY decent price. It's on the sea, the waiters are very fast and friendly, the food is good, we even got free watermelon at the end ;-)

You sit in this restaurant, watch the sea and enjoy really good seafood and Greek starters. The staff is very friendly and prices are absolutely ok. Be aware that dishes are served one after another so waiters will not wait until you are finished with your starters. That's normal.
