Deinze (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈdɛi̯nzə]) is a city and a municipality located in the Belgian province of East Flanders. The municipality comprises the city of Deinze proper and the towns of Astene, Bachte-Maria-Leerne, Gottem, Grammene, Meigem, Petegem-aan-de-Leie, Sint-Martens-Leerne, Vinkt, Wontergem and Zeveren. On January 1, 2016, Deinze had a total population of 30,628. The total area is 75.54 km (29 sq mi) which gives a population density of 375 inhabitants per km².

As it was already dark (winter) when we arrived for dinner, the wonderful scenery of the river Lys was no surplus, and we were seated in a modern extension. Later that evening all the tables were filled and it became very noisy so it was difficult to have a conversation and that was necessary as it took ages between the different courses. We had chosen the five course menu. The small starter arrived reasonably fast, but then we had to wait too long for the next course and so on... also the service was correct, but poor (no smile, we had to ask for additional bread... and we became hungry..., tehy forgot special request from one of the guests...)... I have to admit the food was well presented and tasted excellent, but all the dishes proved to be small... So finally after 11pm (we started at7.30pm) we were at the coffee. Finally we even had to ask for the bill twice... to illustrate the poor service...
So although the food was tasty, portions were small, unfriendly service, too noisy space, and too long waiting times... I definitely will not revisit this restaurant...

We booked 2 rooms at the hotel for 2 nights. One room was situated on a corner with a very busy road running in front of it, with lots of traffic noise day and night. The other (single) room had no balcony, just an exit to an emergency staircase to the roof and was very stuffy and airless as a result. Lots of mosquitoes at night!
We asked for information where we could hire bicycles, but the girls in reception could only tell us it was possible to hire city bikes at the station.
This venue is used mainly for parties and seminars, and this meant we felt pretty well out of it as individual guests. We tried having a beer in the courtyard garden, only to be told that that was very unusual!
Breakfast was good, we did not have dinner there so can't judge, but it's not cheap.

We'd heard that Deinze was worth a visit - so many little towns in Flanders that you might not have heard of have great charm. Unfortunately Deinze seems to be an exception - there really isn't much to it, if you except the grand old chateau Ooidonk on the town's outskirts. But they did us perfectly ok coffee on their outside Terrace area - with a complimentary Speculoos biscuit, in the Belgian tradition - in Deinze's main pedestrianised street, on a warm July day.

Spent a Saturday evening with my girlfriend in this Italian restaurant, after sitting 5 minutes inside ... it couldn't really start worst : too much noise, packed seats (you can't hear the other side of the table). The acoustic is really horrible, the food is good what you would expect from a decent Italian restaurant. But the bill was the nighmare : 120 € for 2 persons (starter and main course, 35 € p.p.), 9,5 € for a bottle of San Pelligrino water (this is what a Michelin star rated restaurant would ask), 28 € for a bottle of Lambrusco sparkling wine (no price mentioned for the bottle, only mentioned 4 € / glass which is cheaper). Conclusions : when you pas that kind of "price tag", then you would expect a better "lunch/dinner experience". Which was not the case, once and never again. Other and better (cheaper) alternatives available.

The kind of restaurant/brasserie you love to have in your neighbourhood: whether for a business lunch or a romantic dinner, Passe Vite is the ideal place to go. Friendly people, efficient service, good food. Prices are correct. One minor remark: on this cold winter's day it felt strangely chilly in the restaurant.

Het eten is hier erg vet: de hakketak, de brochettes... Je kan eten en drinken à volonté, maar persoonlijk was ik vrij snel verzadigd waardoor het concept aan de dure kant uitkomt (40 euro voor eten en drank à volonté) - zeker voor de kwaliteit die je krijgt. Niet mijn stijl dus naar voeding toe, wel een leuke sfeer bij het concept.

Wide choice of Italian food, but most famous for their freshly made pizzas in wood oven. But of course also pastas, saltimbocca, osso bucco etc. Wide choice of wines too. All at very reasonable prices. The outside of the restaurant is not attractive, but warm welcome.

Super service elegant and unpretentious. Nice atmosphere. Excellent food, every bite was new experience. The wine list not big but good selection. The desert wines Selection was outstanding. And the best expresso in Belgium since I started to visit it 9 years ago.

every time you visit this restaurant, you won't be disappointed. Good value for your money. Nice choice of plates. Menu at € 50, wines included. Don't forget your reservation, especialy during weekends. Friendly staff, try to make you feel at home. Traditional cuisine, in the spirit of their grandmother.

My second business lunch ever in the Deinze area and for the second time I was invited to Il Punto, in the Deinze city center. People who want to park their car in front of the restaurant will be frustrated; for them who are willing to walk 300m there is ample parking space a little down the road.
Il Punto is a popular place: the restaurant was packed on lunch hour on a simple Tuesday. Service is friendly and multilingual. Half of the staff is Italian.
On the menu: traditional Italian dishes and pizza's. When it comes to presentation concessions are being made to the belgian taste (as is the case in most Italian restaurants in Belgium for that matter). For a real enthusiast of Italian cuisine like myself it remains an absolute no-no to see huge plates with cotoletta alla milanese being served with tagliatelle with tomato sauce on top. But it that's what works for the restaurant (and its clients) who am I to complaint about that.
Overall: a good and safe choice. But nothing particularly special.
