Open from breakfast until late this is a lovely traditional Spanish bar/restaurant. Heavy dark furniture with lots of photos adorning walls- did king of Spain really eat here ? Why not ?! Tapas are excellent. Prompt and efficient service of multiple tapas. There is an external Terrace too. Prices very reasonable - different foods available to take u from breakfast and throughout rhe day.

El Torrente is without challenge Cuevas del Almanzora's premiere restaurant and it is situated right at the Golf Club House. With a stunning setting, it looks out over Powder Creek and its Cascade, across the large expanse of water that will form Steamboat Lake. El Torrente is famous for its fine Spanish dining including several very special local dishes and fresh fish. The main restaurant is open every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It also provides a Bar and Deck Menu with a wide choice of light lunch time food available through daylight hours, including tasty soups, tapas, salads, burgers, pasta, wraps and filled ciabatta. Breakfast is available at El Torrente in a choice of Continental, Spanish, Vegetarian and Full Monty.
Wonderful food served in a beautiful and sophisticated atmosphere. Professional staff ensure one's meal becomes an unforgettable event. Menu is vast and food is superbly presented. Staff is well trained and extremely pleasant. Drinks choice is more than adequate. It welcomes visitors!

It was the starting point, although far from stagnate we have undergone several changes , not exclusive in the menu, due to the demand for family reunions and company , in 2011 a new dining room was opened . In addition to providing meals, is approved as a teaching center where courses were taught hospitality . Another important development was the introduction of marble plates in 2012 , being one of the few restaurants in Spain that has them. It's a modern restaurant with traditional substance . The kitchen combines the traditional with the modern, aside from making seasonal specialties , here you can find traditional dishes along with cuisine, rice, celiac specialities , desserts that combine traditional and avant-garde cuisine . The service is professional, attentive , as if you were at home. Juan Moreno's Restaurant, has the endorsement of the experience of all who work in , our years of personal experience , unique and professional service.
Visited this restaurant for the first time yesterday evening with my family. We ordered the tasting menu and my daughter also ordered the accompanying wine selection. The whole experience was a delight with fabulously presented food served by friendly white -gloved waiters who explained everything in their best English. The whole experience lasted over 3 hours and we all enjoyed it. There was perhaps too much to eat as I did not have room for the (second) dessert. but that is hardly a criticism. The selection of Spanish wines was perfect. A real find in this small coastal town and though quite expensive in comparison with local restaurants it is cheaper than its equivalent in UK.

I had heard about the mythical "Chicken Shack", we have lived here ten years and never gotten round to checking out if it actually existed.
If you have never been before then you wont find it easily, it is not the sort of place you happen by. Turn left at the garage before Los Lobos.
The other thing is, there is nothing to indicate the name of the restaurant which is Bar El Puente, it is a very inconspicuous place, the only giveaway is the amount of cars parked around.
I am told that Sunday is the day to go, and the only day that it becomes "Chicken Shack". Obviously a name decided upon by the expats.
Booking is essential, the place was heaving, mainly local Brits by the look of it.
When you sit down there is already wine on the table, it looks like plonk but is fairly palatable tempranillo, Solar de Ricot from the Bodega Vivino in Bullas.
Although Bread and Alioli arrived, service was pretty slow, we eventually got our salad but the wine was running out waiting for the main event. Normally it is not a problem until you see people who arrived after you getting served, and the fact that the typically hard, upright, Spanish chairs were so back breaking.
When the chicken arrived it was two huge platters of portions, there were eight of us but there was enough for twelve. It tasted as lip smackingly good as it smelt and was accompanied by plates of chips.
Another long wait for dessert, which came only after a complaint at the bar.
After that it was all friendly jokes and smiles from the busy staff and our coffees came pretty soon after that.
All in all a good experience which cost us €13 a head which included a small tip, we were not feeling generous due to the excessive waiting times.
The delicious chicken may tempt me to return, but next time with a cushion for the chair.

Has a light lunch, some salad and calamari..beer and wine. Wait staff were excellent and food good..possible downside that everyone there was British..depending how you view that..easy parking and happy for us to have the dog on the Terrace

First time in this restaurant and impressed by the surroundings. We were in for a menu del dia ,which is a set priced menu with some choices, normally good value and served at lunch time. The issue came when the fish that my wife had ordered a local fish which in her opinion had been overcooked, so much so that it was dry and tasteless. She called our waiter over ( who turned out to be the owner) and made him aware of her concerns. His reply "that is the way we cook it" no apology or an offer to change the dish, we felt that the fact that we were non Spanish he was treating us like fools.
We have owned a restaurant and hotel and both my wife and myself are proficient cooks and have never treated our customers in such an arrogant and off hand manner. We will not return as there are many more restaurants in the area with much more pleasant staff.

Restaurant with Spanish cuisine. With the best ingredients and best experience and care of the work. Bullfight, meat, fish, Valencian rice. Know our gastronomic experience.
Went here a few times while staying nearby. Every meal we had was great, extremely friendly staff and nice ambience. Recommended restaurant for sure. It was our friends anniversary in the last night we were there and the staff brought them a free bottle of cava which was unexpected and much appreciated. Every meal we were offered a little aperitif and we couldn't fault any of the meals. Seafood paella was my favourite, but lots of other lovely things to choose as well

Just opposite the old bull ring, this is great for a drink and a tostada or an ice cream. The staff are very friendly and the service is good.
Lots of choice for a quick snack apart from the tostada.
Try the pineapple ice cream.... Delicious
