We visited for a mid week meal with family. We ordered starters, tandoori mixed kebab and chicken chat. Both were great. We had the obligatory Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Bandook and King Prawn dish. The food was lovely, it always is. A great place. Food always good and service impeccable.

UN-licensed Restaurant. Bring your own alcohol as we only sell soft drinks.
So from the outside the place looks ok, as soon as we walked in the staff immediately greeted us and showed us to a table, my initial impressions are the place needs a hell of a refurbishment, the walls had black marks on the chairs that we had had stains on the the place just felt cobbled together, so I asked the guy have you just opened and are you going to do it up, he really surprised me when he said it had been there for a few years, they do not sell any alcohol but you can take your own, i assume you will pay corkage, I asked for a blackcurrant cordial and water, they didn't have any my mate asked for orange cordial and water, they didn't have that either, the waiter said your the only people to ask for that so he wouldn't buy bottles to just sit there, they only sell bottles of coke and orange and of course Coffee, I told him I come from South Shields where there is 25-30 excellent curry houses, so he had a lot to live up to, the waiter said that in his his opinion the curry houses in South Shields are not very good, I said you have thrown a gauntlet down and your food better be good, so my food, I asked for a starter that wasn't on the menu chicken tikka paneer, the paneer was ok but the chicken breast was fatty and I spat it out, he then asked me what was wrong and I told him that the chick was fatty/grisly, no apologies, but I'm not that bothered, so I had no expectation for the main course, I have to say the main course was very nice, I had chicken tikka jalfrezi with garlic mushroom pilau rice and a keena nan bread, all if it was good, I particularly liked the nan bread, he asked how it was so I told him it was very nice but not as good as about ten of the restaurants in South Shields, which still means it's good, the price for 2 of us with 2 course meal, nan bread, 2 coffees and a pint of coke was £35, so not badly priced, would I go back probably not, unless there was no where else open, it was not bad, the best part of the place was the staff were friendly

very long wait times for main meal (over 30 minutes). When i asked for a couple of scoops of ice cream for free for my daughter due to the extremely long waiting time, i was refused. For the sake of £2.89 they have lost a customer.

Visited La Torre on Friday night, with my family, we had a great night. The food was amazing, nothing to complain about at all. The staff were great, very efficient and quick, everyone was extremely friendly and attended to our every need, checking on us regularly to see if everything was ok, There was a great singer on, who entertained all night which was great, the staff were dancing around, which made the night, we asked and there is going to be a singer on every Friday in December. After our meal went upstairs to Bar Novou. it was really nice this time we had dance music to listen to, we had a really lovely lovely night and will certainly return,

My boyfriend and our friends have been on a lovely walk around Northumberlandia this morning when we thought we would come and try out the Snowy owl. When we first arrived we were pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome of the fire and we were directed to our table. We ordered our drinks and food when we noticed that some of our cutlery and all of our napkins on the table had bits of blood on them, we caught the managers eye and asked for some clean ones, he then said after he had looked at them that he would be back to sort it. A few minutes later one of the waitresses came over and cleared them and washed the table. After working in the industry myself I was shocked to not get even a “sorry about that”. After that we were still looking forward to our food, no complaints about the starter but my friends beef dinner was slightly warm and my burger wasn’t anything I’d order again. Overall our visit hasn’t left us wanting to return and time soon.

We were out on a treat day out and popped into The Beehive for lunch.
A lovely find. It’s a traditional rustic pub with fantastic food. There are three rooms. One exclusively for people with dogs. There’s blankets for the dogs.
There is a good range of food on the menu and it really is lovely.
They take bookings for the dog lounge and for bookings of groups of 6 or more in other rooms.
For visitors in summer there is a secret garden that’s likely to be a hit with the children.
