We stopped for lunch and ate outside on their back patio which felt like an oasis in the desert! Our food was outstanding and portions were large. Our party of four enjoyed the Salad with Hot Bacon Dressing that was the special salad of the day, Corelli Calzone, and two had the Meatball Sandwich. My husband saved room for the Key Lime Pie which was super creamy and more like cheesecake (maybe it was actually cheesecake?). The service was also excellent. We'll make a point to go back when in that area!

we decided to stop and eat in Craig -- as it was approximately 1/2-way back towards home from our eclipse-viewing earlier that day up in Wyoming. our son (who lives in Steamboat with no shortage of good restaurants) recommended this place.
we arrived mid-afternoon, not very busy but the waiter got right down to business and was prompt, courteous, tolerated my mal-español, etc.
I had huevos rancheros, as this was the first meal of the day -- with a big margarita on the side. the others in our group seemed to enjoy their meals as well.

We've visited twice now since moving to the Craig area and each time the service was excellent! Great menu selection and Colorado Craft Beer on Tap keeps bringing us back for more.

A great pub always has Guinness Draft available, either on tap or in the tall black cans. Don't fall for Guinness Draft in a bottle,,,it does not taste like Guinness should.
This was a great pub with Guinness Draft in the big tall black cans.
The buffalo style wings were excellent, as was the service.

we stop in at V I maybe two or three times a year. usually after having survived icy roads at the beginning of our drive back home from steamboat. V I is "predictable" and I think you can't "go wrong" with any order here. And ... coffee, yes, coffeee...

Vallarta's is actually inside a shopping mall which, when we went, looked like it was not doing well. Yes, the food isn't overly spicy which was fine with us. The menu is varied and we were greeted promptly and served quickly. Had the fried Chile rellenos and chimichanga plate which was generous and delicious.

Stopped here for a sandwich when on vacation. Wanted to use my Subway points to get a foot-long. At the cash register, I was informed they don't "mess" with points, so I had to pay cash.

For all those bagging on Ocean Pearl and it's "dated", "dirty", "poor decor",...... if you want 4-5 star dining, keep driving, Steamboat is 45 miles east and they will be happy to take your cash....but don't be surprised if the service is sub par or the quality is not the same, you kept going, remember?
I, my daughter (since she was born, they know her well), and my girl have been eating here since the place opened and have yet to be dissatisfied, or made sick, which will get not only a bad review, but I will never go back.
I am a hot & sour soup connoisseur, Ocean Pearl has some of the best around AND they have some very good entrees as well, the Kung Pao is to die for.
Henry and the boys will take good care of you, they work long, hard hours to provide some of the best Chinese food in NW Colorado be it the awesome lunch buffet or something off the menu, it's all good.
Be aware, they are closed on Tuesdays, can't serve the public every single day.
Delivery, take out, eat in....your choice, either way, you won't go hungry, broke or angry, just fat and happy, with extra cash in your pocket.
The building is old people, and not much can be done to repair it other than tearing it all down and rebuilding a new place, I am sure they will take donations if you don't like the decor. This place has existed for over 50 years in this town and has hosted a multitude of different food venues, for pete's sake it used to be called "the Truck Stop", how's that for "greasy spoon"? I have eaten at all of the different places this building has hosted, Ocean Pearl is by far the best that this landmark of Craig has ever had.
It's dated, so what!!! The food and the service rock, bottom line.
I HIGHLY recommend Ocean Pearl, they are good, fast and friendly, I have gotten to know the boys over the years and they recognize me when I order over the phone, I like that sort of thing. The "other" Chinese place in town will land you in the hospital, I can guarantee that as have landed there myself because of them, plus I know things not repeatable here. Thankfully, for all of us, they have closed.
The food is what you come for, sit your butt down on a duct taped seat and enjoy some of the best Chinese you will find in this corner of the state. And, if up and running, some of the only soft serve ice cream around, can't beat that as a topper to a great meal.

Welcome to Castle Ranch Steakhouse. Prepare yourself for a genuine steakhouse meal. We have all the necessary entrees and side dishes to make your time with us as memorable as Colorado itself. Stop in, the steaks are always fresh.
Ended up in Craig unexpectedly and had a wonderful steak dinner here. The meat was seared perfectly. The veggies were just right. And the drinks were yummy! Thank you!

Simple good food, where the locals eat. There is nothing fancy here, just basic food and good service. Restaurant is located on the main drag.
